When replacing regular axles with a Timbren Axle-Less system, you will absolutely want the Timbren axles to go in the same place as the existing axles. Axle placement is critical to the weight distribution and ride quality of the trailer. Trailers are designed around a specific axle placement. Moving the axles farther forward or backward can lead to issues with sway and/or ride quality.
Also, a lot of times the tires will need to fit inside the existing fender area or wheel well, so there... view full answer...
Hey Karl, you are correct with your line of thinking.
The Over-Under Conversion Kits like part # K71-384-00 for a 2-3/8" diameter axle is normally my go-to for increasing trailer height when the axle is above the leaf springs, but since you have a 4" drop axle the lower part of the axle will still be hanging pretty low.
By changing to a standard axle like the 3.5K Dexter Axle # 7359765 you were looking at will naturally life your trailer 4" as well as increase the clearance for your axles... view full answer...
Hi John,
Increasing the axle capacity will not increase the load that the trailer can haul because you're still limited to capacity of the trailer's frame. Swapping up to a higher weight class can also give you a stiffer ride and uneven tire wear because the suspension isn't being loaded enough to compress the suspension and have the tires sit straight without camber. There's also a lot of legal hoops to jump through when it comes to altering the GVWR of the trailer. If it's not a crazy... view full answer...
The Fulton Single Axle Trailer Fender # F008594-2 does have a 4-1/8" wide mounting bracket slot, so they will fit nicely with the 4" wide brackets on your McClaine trailer. The mounting holes on the fender are 3-3/4" apart though, so you would have to put a new hole in the current fender bracket, but as long as you are comfortable doing that it will work nicely. The Fulton Single Axle Trailer Fender # F008594-2 is 42-5/8" long overall and 12-3/4" tall so we would want to make sure that... view full answer...
Hey Jaime, yes you can replace your 25-1/4 inch 3,500 lb axle leaf springs with a 5k rated axle spring like the part # e44SR. This will increase the suspension's weight capacity and might make the ride quality a little rougher but it would fit and work just fine. view full answer...
Yes, the Dexter Heavy Duty Suspension Upgrade Kit # K71-358-00 will fit your single axle trailer with a 2,500lb axle. This kit is a standard universal size which is designed for double eye springs. We do have it listed for 3,500lb-7,000lb axles but it will still work on lighter axles. view full answer...
Hey Mike,
To determine if the MORryde Rubber Equalizers for Tandem Axle Trailers # MR87ZR would be a compatible fit you'll first want to measure the bolt hole spacing on your current equalizers. The # MR87ZR has a 6-1/2" center to center spacing for the shackle strap bolt holes and a 3-1/4" height from the hanger bolt hole down to the center of the shackle strap holes.
Changing the spacing can alter the way the suspension travels and could potentially cause a bind so we always recommend... view full answer...
Hello Chad. The Lippert 7,000 lb axles use standard sizing for all the bearings, hubs and brakes making them all pretty simple to replace.
For a hub assembly I recommend the Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum for 5.2K to 7K Axles # AKHD-865-7-G-EZ-K. This is a galvanized steel hub with a 12" drum and an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern, all of which are standard for the 7K axles. This hub comes with bearings, seals, races, lug nuts and a grease cap.
For your brake assemblies I recommend the TruRyde... view full answer...

Hey David, thanks for reaching out!
I recommend replacing your current equalizers with the E-Z Flex Equalizers # K71-655-00 which are compatible with up to 8K axles. These are a great step up to standard equalizers and while they aren't crazy high-end upgrades, you will be able to tell a significant different in the towing performance of your trailer with these installed. view full answer...
With your 7,000LB Lippert axles already having a zerk fitting on the end they are designed to use the Grease Cap # TRU66FR to easily access the grease zerk. While the Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors 1.98" # BB1980A are to small for your hub we do have the 2.717" # BB27SR for your hub size. This will generally require you to remove the grease zerk from the end of your spindle to use. view full answer...

Hi Ron,
In regards to your first question, the difference is those are just different models of the trailer. As for your Keystone Bullet Ultra Lite with tandem 3,500 lb axles, there honestly is very little difference in the trailer brakes that fit, which are the following:
- etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes - Self-Adjusting # AKEBRK-35-SA
- Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brakes # 23-468-469
The biggest difference is price, as the Dexter's name brand makes it more premium in terms... view full answer...
You will need a little more than just the adapter but that is off to a good start. The Curt Trailer Connector Adapter # C57672 will connect to the 5th wheel 4-way so the signal power will carry over to the 7-way connector. However, you will still need to run wire to connect to the brake output circuit.
Voltage drop is a definitely a concern so I recommend replacing the brake output wire on your entire setup with 6 gauge wire. So you will be replacing it starting at the brake controller... view full answer...
There is only one 6 lug hub that fits those bearing sizes. It is the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly item # 8-407-5UC3-EZ. It uses an inner bearing item # L68149 with an I.D. of 1.378", and outer bearing item # LM67048 with an I.D. of 1.25".
This hub and drum assembly is designed for 10" braking assemblies like item # K23-462-463-00. view full answer...
Hi Ross,
When replacing trailer brakes the best piece of information is going to be the axle capacity since this can narrow down the compatible options very quickly. From there we can measure the inside of the drum to determine the correct fit. 5.2K - 7k axles will usually have a 12" diameter x 2" wide brake assembly while 3,500lb and 4,400lb axles will typically have 10" diameter x 2-1/4" wide brake assemblies.
You can look at the axle for a white sticker to see if you can find the... view full answer...
Unfortunately Larry, the never fail bushings were discontinued a few years ago which is why you are unable to find them on our site.
As for the MORryde CRE3000 Rubber Equalizers # MR87ZR you can use them on your 2021 Grand Design Imagine XLS 22MLE travel trailer with the 3,500lb axles. You will want to pair this with their Shackle Kit # MR46ZR. view full answer...
