On your 2014 Chevy Suburban there is a set of 4 blunt cut wires under the dash of your vehicle that you will be able to use to install your Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller # TK90160. GM didn't offer a plug-in style port for your vehicle so I am not sure what harness you would have, but I do know it will not work on your vehicle.

There are a few things you can try to get the unit to pair.
First, If you do not see displayed what the instructions say just keep going through the steps. Sometimes it will not display what it is supposed to but it will still work if you go through the steps to completion.
If that does not work then you can try taping off the pin in the 5 oclock position at the back of the RF (where the trailer plugs into) using electrical tape. Then go through the installation process.

When the suspension is under load it won't matter whether or not the air bag is in the top or the bottom of the spring. The pictures you are referring to are showing the air spring in the coil spring with the suspension unloaded and stretched out. Under normal circumstances with the truck on the ground the spring will be almost or actually touching on the top and bottom in the coil spring.

The Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs part # F4108 which are a fit for a 2010 Chevrolet Suburban without auto-level suspension have a minimum pressure of 5 psi and a maximum pressure of 25 psi according to Firestone. I checked the owner's manual for the Curt Venturer Trailer Brake Controller part # C51110, a flashing red display indicates that there is a brake circuit overload, likely caused by a short. The power supply wire you are looking for should be taped up on the cab side of your junction box. Some times it is tucked down and hard to see and has to be fished out.
If it is not there you can run a wire from the junction box into the cab and splice it to the black wire on the brake controller.
