  • Hitch and Trailer Wiring Recommendation for 2006 Ford Van Freestar
  • For your 2006 Ford Freestar I would recommend a Class III hitch like the part # C13587 as it would have more than enough capacity which would be useful for the towing you plan to do. The # C13587 has a 350 lb tongue weight and 3,500 lb total trailer weight rating. As long as the weight of everything you plan to tow plus the weight of the trailer is less than that you should be good to go. Class III hitches also allow more flexibility for future hitch accessories like bike racks and cargo...

  • Roof Rack and Roof Mount Bike Carrier Recommendation for 2004 Ford Freestar
  • In order to carry two bikes on the roof of your 2004 Ford Freestar, you will want a roof rack, as well as two roof mount bike carriers. I recommend the Inno Aero roof rack. It consists of the Inno Aero Crossbars # INXB115-2 Inno Flush Feet # INXS200, and Custom Fit Kit # INK211. This is a confirmed fit for your vehicle. For a roof mount bike rack carrier I recommend the Yakima FrontLoader Wheel Mount Bike Carrier # Y02103. This rack will fit your Yakima crossbars and support bikes...

  • Correct Trailer Ball for Draw Bar Included with Curt Class II Recevier Hitch for 2004 Ford Freestar
  • The ball mount included with the Curt Class II Receiver would use a trailer ball with a 3/4 inch shank. The shank needs to be at least 1-9/16 inches long. We offer a 2 inch Hitch Ball from Tow-Ready, part # 19258 that would work great with the draw bar. I have provided a link to the hitch installation instructions as well as a link to the trailer ball. You can find the links below.

  • Class III Trailer Hitch for a 2006 Ford Freestar
  • For your 2006 Ford Freestar I recommend going with the Curt # C13587 as we've found that the powder coat finish on the Curt hitches tends to be thicker and hold up better against chips and scratches. Installation will involve removing the exhaust from the rear most exhaust hanger to gain access to the hitch mounting holes in the frame and you may have to slightly enlarge the frame holes if the hardware doesn't fit, but if you look at the video I have linked to and fast forward to the...

  • You'll have to measure the crossbars on your 2005 Ford Freestar to know for sure if the Swagman bike rack part # S64720 will fit. This rack is designed to fit crossbars that are up to 3-1/8 inch wide by 1-7/8 inch tall. Your Freestar should have compatible crossbars but you'll want to verify this as well.

  • Left Turn Signal Makes Lights Flash and One tail Light Works when Connected to 2007 Ford Freestar
  • It sounds like there is a ground and/or connection issue on the trailer or an issue inside the converter box on the vehicle but there are ways to determine if that is the case or if the harness for your 2007 Ford Freestar is the problem. First, disconnect the trailer from the vehicle. Then use a circuit tester, such as # PTW2993, to test the 4-Way connector while someone sits in the vehicle and operates the lighting functions. If the 4-Way end does not have the right signals when testing...

  • 4-Pole Wiring Harness Kit for 2005 Ford Free Star Without Tow Package
  • Nine years of service from a wiring harness is pretty good, so as annoying as it is not to have things working right, I would say you got your money's worth out of the old harness. Since the functions seem to have died off one by one this does suggest the unit has given its all and should be replaced. Available 4-pole wiring kits for your 2005 Ford Freestar are shown on the linked page. For your version without the factory tow package, you can use kit # C56673 from Curt. Even though you...

  • Recommended Wiring Harness for a 2005 Ford Freestar
  • If you have a wiring harness that was installed by splicing into your 2005 Ford Freestar's wiring then that would be the problem. The owner's manual for your Freestar states not to splice into the wiring because it can cause malfunctions. There are two options for you to install a wiring harness on your Ford Freestar without a factory tow package that does not involve splicing. To figure out which one you would need all you have to know is if your Freestar model has the plug behind the...

  • The Draw-Tite Class III # 75158 and the Hidden Hitch # 87107 were both manufactured by the same parent company, Cequent Performance Products. • Troubleshooting Running Light Circuit of Curt Trailer Wiring # C56673 Not Functioning
  • Have you tried swapping the relays of the Curt # C56673 around that you installed with the harness? Easiest way to determine if a relay is blown is to replace it with a known working one. A short on your trailer wiring could have possibly damaged it or it was defective.

  • Is the Screw Included With Wiring Harness C56673 Necessary on 2007 Ford Freestar?
  • I spoke with a representative of Curt who told me that the screw that is included with the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56673 that fits your 2007 Ford Freestar is not needed and it can just be thrown out. Usually a screw like this is included so it can be used for the ground wire, but # C56673 plugs in (see linked installation video) so why it was included with this kit is anybody's guess.
