There is not a replacement rectangular piece of metal that holds the wheel in place for your bumper-mounted spare tire carrier. Once the battery is unhooked, it's definitely possible that you'll need to reset the stored information such as radio settings and clocks, etc. This being said, I am puzzled by the part of the procedure where Buick states to open the hood, then wait two minutes before detaching the negative battery terminal. It makes me wonder if there's maybe a capacitor that saves those settings for you.

The only way to turn a surge brake actuator "off" is to engage a lockout on the actuator. Some actuators have manual lockouts, others have electric lockouts, and some have no way to lock out the actuator. Typically, free-backing brakes are used with actuators that have no lockout. As long as the trailer brakes engaging when your tow vehicle is stopping, the brakes are working correctly.

On Enclave model years after 2012, the fascia door can be reinstalled after the hitch is in place, and removed when the hitch is needed. On older models, you'll need to get a different fascia cover that sticks out a bit further from the dealer's parts department.
