This carrier has threaded studs that are 1/2" in diameter with fine threads which are different than standard 1/2" x 20 studs used on a trailer so a standard lugnut will not work.

Thule just recently changed their square crossbars so if you have an older set of square bars that do not have a channel on the underside of them for mounting to feet you'll need to go with an all new kit. The older foot design is not available either.
