According to the installation instructions which I have linked for you, you will not need to trim any of the rear bumper or fascia to install CURT Trailer Hitch, # 11430. The rear air dam needs to be removed but nothing is trimmed.

To answer your question simply, yes. The Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit # HM56100 plugs in line with the taillight wiring harness of your 2007 Chevy Cobalt.
You will unplug your taillight harness on your vehicle and then plug it into the corresponding connector of the # HM56100. The other connector of the # HM56100 will then plug into the connector for the vehicle's wiring and the install will be complete.

The Fitting in the back of your actuator, # T4750820, will need to be removed to install the Solenoid Valve for Titan Brake Actuators, # T4748800. I have posted a photo showing this fitting.
Once the fitting is removed you will install the solenoid valve directly into the back of the master cylinder, see second photo, then attach the brake line from the trailer directly to the solenoid. The fitting that was removed will not be needed. view full answer...

When installing the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # 118407 in your 2006 Cobalt, you will need to access the rear cargo area and remove the spare tire cover first.
Then you will need to get access to the back of the tail lights by moving the carpeted liner. Then unplug the connector from the back of the tail lights and connect the T-One harness with the yellow and brown wire to the left tail light connector. In regards to the Towed Vehicle Battery Charge Wire Kit for Demco Supplemental Braking Systems part # DM66VR, we must recommend you attach the power wire directly to the battery. Therefore, if the battery is in the truck you would likely need to extend the wire to reach back there as this kit is mainly designed for vehicles where the battery is in the front. In order to do this you'd need some extra 14 gauge wire, the part # DW07550-1 which is sold by the foot.

What you are experiencing with your Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR is perfectly normal. The Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR operates off of inertia and will not activate the brakes in your tow vehicle every time. It will only activate the brakes when it needs to, it uses inertia to know when it is appropriate to activate the brakes. It will also activate the brakes using the controller or if the breakaway switch is activated.

Since difficulty is mostly subjective, I cut out and added on this page the instructions to the Kat's Heaters Custom Engine Block Heater - Frost Plug Style # KH11405 that fits your 2008 Chevy Cobalt with a 2.0L I4 Engine (it fits the '07 as well).

The nut at the end of the spindle on the Axle part # 20440I-EZ-60 has a tang washer that needs to be removed before the nut will thread off. If you look at the end of the axle there is a yellow piece that will need to get removed and the nut will thread off. You will want to pry up on the tabs that are around the corners of the nut with a flat screwdriver.
