I have two options for a trailer hitch for your 2004 Chevy Aveo 5 door hatchback. Unfortunately, both of the options require two holes to be drilled in the bumper beam. You want to ground whichever wire you use from the magnet as a ground now to a clean bare metal surface of the frame on all of the assemblies. Trailer brake magnets are not polarity sensitive so it doesn't matter which wire but since you already have your trailer brakes wired, just make sure you don't cut the power wire instead. Since the Dexter 12” self-adjusting brakes part # 23-459 and part # 23-458 are brand new and the braking is weak there is a chance the brakes are not fully adjusted yet. The brake assemblies haven't been activated enough times for them to find the right setting.
