The UWS Slim Line Truck Bed Toolbox # UWS00405 and # UWS00280 both have a measurement of 9" from the edge of the tool box base to the outside edge of the handle for opening the tool box.
You can use these boxes with either of the UWS Truck Bed L-Shaped Side Rail Toolbox 48" # UWS01600 or 60" # UWS01603 but you will need to leave a gap between the boxes for the handles to clear. I recommend leaving around 6" so that you will be able to easily reach between the boxes rather than trying... view full answer...
To use the Truxedo TonneauMate Truck Bed Tool Box # TX1117416 you will need to have at least 22.25" from the front of the bed to the back edge of the bed slide and at least 14.75" depth in the bed. If when fully slid into your bed for storage the slide does not provide that much space, this Truck Bed Tool Box won't work on your 2016 F-150.
If you don't have that much space, but can provide me with the dimensions of space you have with your bed slide I can help recommend an alternate... view full answer...

Yep, you're 100 percent right; the distance under the bed bed rails will be 7-3/16 inches for the DeeZee Red Label Truck Bed Tool Box - Crossover Style # DZ8170B.
The # DZ8170B is 13-3/16 inches tall altogether, with 6 inches above the bed rails and the remaining 7-3/16 inches below the bed rails. With how tall truck bed rails are nowadays you will have plenty of room under the toolbox. view full answer...

You can determine if your truck's tonneau cover and toolbox will still allow installation of a 5th wheel hitch by having a look at the installation instructions for an above-bed base rail kit. The best value in a custom base rail kit for your 2011 Silverado 2500 6-1/2-foot bed is Curt part # C16411-204.
In your specific truck this kit will install with the rear edge of the front base rail 47-1/2-inches forward of the edge of the bed (not the tail gate). This is shown in the linked image... view full answer...
There is no absolute rule for spacing between the forward side of a 5th wheel hitch and a tool box mounted between it and the cab, but I would say 6 inches would be an appropriate minimum in most instances. We do have recommended clearance distances between the various points of the trailer and truck that you can see in the linked diagram. You want to ensure the front loft of the trailer can clear the top of the tool box. view full answer...
There are a couple measurements you can take to determine how much clearance you will have for the tank and tool box you want to use in your truck bed.
I have attached a photo of the # DM8550024 and have some dimensions noted from the center of the mounting bracket on the hitch. It measures approximately 10-inches from the centerline of the bracket to the front of the hitch nearest the cab of the truck and 25-inches from the centerline to the back of the hitch nearest the tailgate.

I reached out to my contact at Truxedo and the TruXedo TruXport Soft, Roll-Up Tonneau Cover # TX272201 is a confirmed fit for your 2017 GMC Sierra 3500. They couldn't give me the measurement between the clamps but they could give me the measurement of how far it impedes into your truck bed. There is a rail that sits inside the bed rail 7/16 inch and the clamp impedes a total of 1-1/2 inches on each side. You can move where the clamps are attached and they recommend putting two behind... view full answer...
I've attached a diagram with the dimensions of the UWS Truck Bed L-Shaped Side Rail Toolbox # UWS01603 but overall this tool box is 60" long x 11" tall and 11-1/4" wide at it's widest point-which is the lid. view full answer...

I may have a solution for you, but the top of the box of the UWS Truck Bed Fender Well Toolbox with Drawers - Passenger's Side - 3.9 cu ft - Bright Aluminum # UWS01625 sits 4" above truck bed rails, so it will not work with a tonneau cover. Instead, you could use the UWS Truck Bed Chest - Secure Lock Under Tonneau Series - 8.85 cu ft - Bright Aluminum # UWS08297 which is designed to fit underneath a tonneau cover and provides you with a locking storage solution. It's quite a bit bigger... view full answer...
Between the overhang of a fifth wheel hitch and the bed rails (or in your case fuel tank), you want at least 5-6 inches of clearance. Preferable more though.
Between the cab of your truck and the overhang of the truck you would want at least 4 inches while in a 90 degree turn. view full answer...

The DeeZee Specialty Series ATV Toolbox # DZM207 is 35" long x 12" wide x 12-1/2" tall, and the height does not take the lid into account. I spoke with one of my contacts at DeeZee, who tells me that there really is not a weight capacity on their truck boxes. Stating an actual capacity would be difficult due to the many variables involved. A box installed on a truck driven at 20 mph exclusively on smooth-as-glass paved roads with perfectly poured concrete would have a much higher capacity than a box used in a real world setting that includes pot holes and uneven pavement.
Given the real world situation, my contact said he... view full answer...
