Most RV fresh water tanks have to be gravity or hand pump fed and cannot be filled using an electric pump. That is because they are designed as a low pressure application.
You can either take the hose straight to the water inlet or you can use a hand pump like the Valterra Antifreeze Hand Pump with City Water Connection Hose for RV Winterizing # P23507VP. While this pump is meant for winterizing your RV, it could be used for water to transfer water from a container to your fresh water tank. view full answer...
The Flow Max RV Fresh Water Pump # LC689052 that you referenced uses standard water line connections like what your trailer has currently so it will install easily. I attached a picture of what the connection fittings look like as well. view full answer...
Thanks for the question, I have some information for you below:
**Flow Max RV Fresh Water Pump - 12 Volt - 3.0 Gallons Per Minute - 50 PSI # LC689052.
Yes, the flow max pump is an exact replacement for your system.
I advise you do not upgrade your pump without upgrading other components of your plumbing. The only way to increase flow rate in the same size piping is increase pressure. Your system is designed to run at a certain psi and if you add a larger pump you run the risk of creating... view full answer...
The HydroMax RV Fresh Water Pump part # P25201 is not designed to attach directly to a garden hose but rather a hose with blunt cut end. If you prefer a threaded connection then you would want to use the Valterra RV Pump Kit part # P23512PB but as far as any adapter goes we do not offer this though I am sure one could be obtained locally at a home improvement store.
If you were to cut off the female end of the Camco RV Drinking Water Hose part # CAM22733 you could then attach this directly... view full answer...
Going with a higher pressure rated water pump like the HydroMax RV Fresh Water Pump part # P25201 that you referenced would not cause any issues with your water lines like you mentioned. They would not leak or blow out. You'd just have a little more water pressure than what you have now. 55 psi like what this produces is a very common pressure and would not be too much for your RV. view full answer...
RV water pumps like the Flow Max RV Fresh Water Pump # LC689054 are designed to pressurize water lines and once the pressure has been met they shut off. So this pump is set for 45 psi which means that any time you open a faucet and relieve the pressure the pump comes on and then once the faucet is closed and 45 psi has been reached the pump shuts off. Based on what you mentioned this would be what you are looking for. view full answer...
Yes, the HydroMax RV Fresh Water Pump # P25201 that you referenced will replace the pump you sent in a picture of. They are very similarly rated right at 3 gallons per minute. view full answer...
The biggest thing to consider when selecting a new or replacement water pump for an RV is GPM or otherwise known as gallons per minute. You'll want to be sure the GPM rating of the new pump either matches that or exceeds that of the existing that way you don't bottleneck the system up. The fittings are all pretty standard but you may need an adapter depending on the setup. The HydroMax RV Fresh Water Pump part # P25201 for example has a 3 GPM rating. I have attached a full list of our pumps... view full answer...
The Flow Max RV Fresh Water Pump # LC689052 that you referenced does have a one-way check valve that was designed to prevent backflow contamination of fresh water. What you described does sound like a bad pump and this replacement would take care of the issue. view full answer...
The HydroMax RV Fresh Water Pump # P25201 is a direct replacement for a 3-gallon-per-minute (GPM), 12V pump which is what you need. Based on my research, it looks like your existing Shurflo 2088-403-144 pump features these same specs so it should work great as a replacement. I do recommend verifying the specs on your particular model though as it looks like there may have been a couple different versions of this Shurflo pump.
I have attached some short video demonstrations on this water... view full answer...
The HydroMax RV Fresh Water Pump # P25201 will work great as a replacement to replace your Shur Flo part 2088 403 144. This has the same specs at 3 gallons per minute so it is a perfect replacement that will be more reliable than the Shur Flo. view full answer...
For a small food cart the Excel RV Tankless Water Heater # EX93FR is really going to be the only option as the other water heaters are all quite large and would use up too much space on your cart. This system can mount right to the side of your cart and is lightweight.
For the water pump I recommend the Seaflo Diaphragm Pump for Boats and RVs # SE58FR. It's going to provide enough water pressure for the # EX93FR to run properly. view full answer...
It does indeed should like a defective Shurflo 4008-101-E65 RV Water Pump and to replace this, the Flow Max RV Fresh Water Pump part # LC689052 would be an excellent option. They both have a 3 gallon per minute rating and operate on 12 volt power. The wiring will be the same, one goes to power and the other to ground. The main difference is the size so as long as you have space for the new pump (8" long x 5-1/4" wide x 5" tall) there will be no issues. view full answer...
Because the Valterra RV Water Tank # R8072 is a lightweight tank that is baffled for surge control and can't handle large pressure changes like what a pump would product, it is not designed for use with electric water pumps. It would void the warranty if used this way and is why they specifically note on their site: "Not for use with electric pumps, low pressure applications only" view full answer...
I reached out to my contact at Valterra, they confirmed that the fresh water tanks are for low pressure applications, however that's to fill the tank. You can use water pumps to get the water from the tank to the faucets.
The water pump must be on the suction side of the tank, and the tank needs to be well vented to allow air to replace the water as it drains. Pumps should not be used to force water into the system from the tank, since it not designed to be a pressurized holding tank.

According to my research, the Artis PDS1RV25 water pump is a 12 volt, 3 gallon per minute pump, and we do have the perfect option for a replacement:
- Flow Max RV Fresh Water Pump # LC689052
This is also a 12 volt, 3 gallon per minute pump, though it has a higher 45 psi rating compared to the 40 of the Artis. It also uses the same 1/2 inch diameter hose fittings so it will be an easy replacement for you. I have added a link below to a video review for you to check out as well if you'd... view full answer...
Yes the mounting dimensions of the HydroMax RV Fresh Water Pump # P25201 that you referenced are the exact same as the ShurFlow part number you mentioned so this would easily mount in place easily as well as wire in. view full answer...
The lowest power water pump we offer is the Seaflo Diaphragm Pump for Boats and RVs part # SE37FR which has a flow rate of 1.2 gallons per minute, aka GPM. view full answer...
RV water pumps are all universal in what they can replace so what I would recommend as the best option for your 2020 Cougar is the Seaflo part # SE24FR as it has the highest gallons per minute flow rate of 5 GPM and has the highest water pressure rating of 60 psi. view full answer...
In regards to replacing the water pump in a trailer, we simply recommend replacing this with a unit that carries similar specs to the existing as that is what was chosen by the manufacturer based on the several factors such as line length, line size, consumption etc. I wouldn't be able to inform of the maximum size pump you can use but so long as they are the same or just slightly higher than the existing pump there should be no issues.
