We haven't gotten a chance to replace the mirrors on a Subaru Legacy so we don't have an install video available at this time. With that being said when replacing the driver's side mirror with the K-Source # KS71504U you will just need to first remove the interior trim panel with the door open. Sounds like you either have the Draw-Tite Class II # 36334 or Class III # 75560 hitch receiver for your 2006 Subaru Legacy. While this is a custom fit hitch that should bolt right up no problem, the mounting brackets may have become bent during shipping which is why you're having issues getting the bolt holes to line up (if you're talking about something else please let me know).

It is actually not all that difficult to install or remove the Let's Go Aero anti-rattle hitch pin # SHP2082. In most cases you can reach in with a finger and pull out the spring and block portion. Otherwise a screwdriver would have short work of reaching in and pulling out the spring and block. I have linked a video to a product that uses the same system and you can see that installing it is easy.

The installation of the Draw-Tite # 75673 that you referenced that has been confirmed to fit your 2014 Subaru wouldn't be too difficult but I can understand wanting to have someone else install the hitch for you. If your 1997 Subaru Legacy Wagon GT is not the Outback version, then you will not actually have a plug-in point for a trailer wiring harness. Non-Outback versions of the wagon must hard wire to install a 4-Way trailer connector, using a kit like part # C55370.

The top of the frame rails on the 2010 Subaru Legacy are covered and you cannot get them in from above. An access hole must be drilled on both sides like in the video I have linked. i have also linked the instructions for you.

The Curt Circuit Protected T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 56091, does not require a power wire to the vehicle battery. It is a T-connector that plugs in line with the vehicle tail lights. The rubber strips that come with the Rhino-Rack Roof Rack # RR37XR are designed to be cut as that allows you to install a channel mounted roof rack accessory on the rack and then use the appropriate length of rubber strip to fill the channel back in to reduce wind noise.

The Draw-Tite 1-1/4 inch Class II receiver hitch # 36493 will fit your 2012 Subaru Legacy with dual exhaust and can handle a Pro Series cargo carrier # 63155.
Lowering the dual exhaust is necessary to install the trailer hitch as well as trimming the heat shield a bit. Those are the only two things necessary as you install the Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 36493.

On the 2007 Legacy Outback Wagon the wiring harness used to install the # 118461 is sometimes hard to find. For some reason it gets routed differently and can be in the spare tire well, up along the back near the bottom of the rear seat or under the rear panel nearest the hatch.
I spoke to our installation technician and he said that he removes all of the panels and follows the vehicle wiring harness along until he comes across the connector. It is there you just have to search for it.

Yes, even if the tow hooks on your 1999 Subaru Legacy do not look the same as the ones in the install video you will still install Curt hitch # C12270 in the same way. No matter what your tow hooks look like, according to the directions when raising the hitch into position the driver side plate will be to the outside of the tow loop and the passenger side plate will be to the inside of the tow loop.

For a 2WD vehicle, chains should be placed on the drive wheels. On a 4WD vehicle, chains are typically placed on the rear wheels, although all four wheels may be chained unless your owners manual prohibits it.

The connector you are looking for can be in a couple places. I attached a picture that one customer sent in that shows where it was on their 1999 Subaru Legacy. The picture shows the left side taillight assembly area.

This Class III hitch by Draw-Tite for the Subaru Legacy uses existing holes in the vehicle frame, no drilling is required. On a wagon model the forward most bolts on either side will need to be removed. The other holes used should have plastic plugs covering the weld nuts which which will need to be removed.
