By far the best way to ensure a level ride as you are towing with your 2017 Ram 1500 with a 2 inch lift is using air bags. They allow you to set the psi to the exact amount you need in order to get a level ride as opposed to jounce springs which can compress so you aren't as level as possible. The slider base for your Curt A20 5th Wheel Hitch # C16541 is just a couple of rods with two notches cut out of them for the hitch to lock into. If it's getting stuck and wiggling the hitch loosens it then the spring in the release handle could be worn out or the notches could be rounded out a bit allowing the hitch to pinch up against the edge of the notch and prevent the handle from releasing.

Hey Glenn, for the 2024 Ram 2500 Gen-Y only makes the 5 inch offset hitch ball for the OEM pucks with the part # GY83XR. There isn't a 4 inch version available as well but even if there was the 5 inch offset would be better since you'd get just a little more turning clearance.
