I have included a link to all of the roof racks that we offer for the 2011 Ford Flex with the vista roof. These roof rack systems do not come in contact with the roof panels so I am not aware as to how they would cause leakage but I made a few calls to my contacts at our roof rack manufacturers just to confirm. Each said that they have no reported issues with the roof racks causing any problems with the glass roof panels.
With this being said, I recommend taking a look at the Rhino-Rack... view full answer...
If you have a naked roof on your 2011 Toyota Tacoma the Rhino Rack 2500 Series Roof Rack is a nice option.
The locks included with the roof rack system are for the covers on the legs of the roof rack. Once the roof rack has been fit to the roof of your Tacoma you place the locking cover in place so the roof rack cannot be removed from the vehicle.
To order this roof rack you will need part # RRVA137B-2, part # RRRLKVA, and part # DK046. I have included a link to an in-depth product review... view full answer...
A naked roof means that there is nothing else on the roof, from roof lights to side rails that are mounted on top of the roof that run front to back, though that is not an option on your 2016 Ram 2500 so you have a number of roof rack options.
The Rhino Rack 2500, which consists of crossbars # RRVA150B-2, legs # RRRLKVA, and fit kit # DK043 is a fit for your '16 Ram 2500 so long as it has a Mega Cab or Crew Cab. This rack uses aero crossbars to give you a quiet ride and have C-channels... view full answer...
While I can give you the height of the Thule roof rack above the roof of your 2023 GMC Sierra 2500, I don't know how much height the cantilever of the ladder rack adds, so you'll need to measure how high above your roof it is and compare that with the Thule roof rack.
For the rack, from the roof of your '23 GMC Sierra 2500 to the top of the crossbar you'll be adding 5-1/2 inches when it is installed, so that should tell you if the height is approximately the same or not. The parts that... view full answer...
You can piece together a round bar system that is going to be similar to a Yakima roof rack with round bars and a track system. What you will need are the following parts:
- Yakima 54" Tracks for Roof Racks # Y01127
- Yakima Control Tower # Y8890027 (Quantity of 4)
- Landing Pad 1 for Yakima Control Towers # Y00221 (Quantity of 2)
- Round 58" CrossBars for Yakima Roof Rack System # Y00409
OR Round 66" CrossBars for Yakima Roof Rack System # Y00410
This will give you a track-based roof... view full answer...
All roof racks will generate noise, but some more than others. Basic round and square bar racks tend to be noisier than elliptical and aerodynamic bars which do better at cutting through the wind. The best way to avoid this concern is to use a roof rack designed to be quieter.
Please also keep in mind that at least as much as the rack itself, what you load onto a roof rack will be the primary cause for the noise you hear when driving. Luggage, cargo boxes or baskets, bike racks and bikes... view full answer...
Thank you for the photo and I can see how the bike rack clamps would not work with a square bar, but unfortunately there is no type of adapter that is going to allow you to use your bike rack on square crossbars so the best solution if you want to use your Saab's roof rack is a new bike rack.
There are cost-effective but still high-quality options for a new rack and I recommend checking out the Yakima ForkLift Roof Mounted Bike Carrier # Y02098 which is a fit for the factory roof rack... view full answer...
Any exterior vehicle feature, whether a roof rack or ladder rack or bike or cargo carrier that can catch wind has the potential to also generate noise. This noise is commonly a whistling-type sound as you noted.
Often the objects that are mounted to the roof rack or ladder rack, say two roof-mount bike carriers and bikes on a roof rack or a ladder and some lumber on a pickup truck ladder rack, can actually make more noise than the rack itself. There are many variables in play when it comes... view full answer...
The # 59834 roof rack you referenced is not a fit for the 2012 Mazda 5 models, it will only fit models up to 2010.
Thule does offer a roof rack kit that will fit the 2012 Mazda 5, and it is similar in design to the Rola rack you referenced. The kit includes Thule WingBars # TH711200 or # TH711220, a Thule Podium foot pack # TH460R, and fit kit # THKIT3080. Again, if you plan to remove the roof rack it would need to be removed completely and the factory covers would be replaced. view full answer...
The Rola 59833 does not give a decibel increase when the rack is installed as that will change based on speed and change with the weather conditions.
Most roof rack systems will have a noticeable sound because you are changing the aerodynamics of your vehicle by adding the crossbars. The bulkier the system the more noise, so square bars and bulky towers will be the worst offenders. The Rola rack you asked about has very sleek lines with aero crossbars for a more factory appearance... view full answer...
To attach a cargo basket such as the Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket, # C18115 (41-1/2" x 37") to a truck topper on your 2006 Chevrolet Silverado, you will need to install Rhino Rack Roof Rack, # Y02-490B.
This roof rack is designed to attach to camper shells and tonneau covers and will need to be drilled into your Leer topper. Otherwise you will need to custom fit mounting hardware for the Roof Mounted Cargo Basket, # C18115 (41-1/2" x 37") or the longer # C18115-117 (64-1/2" x 39"). view full answer...

The Rhino Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars consisting of the crossbars and feet # RR54GR do have integrated locks to deter theft. The locks secure the crossbars to the roof and secure the channel-mounted carriers to the crossbars.
The Aero-type crossbars are the lowest profile roof rack for your 2011 Mazda 3 as each crossbar is only 1-1/16" tall which will cut down on wind noise from this rack.
I attached help articles on roof mounted cargo carriers, watersport carriers and ski carriers you... view full answer...
You wouldn't be able to add a roof rack to a collapsible bed cover like the # B76309 but you could add a rack to the cab of the truck, depending on which cab you have, but you'd likely need to remove the bed cover because the end of the canoe could damage the top of the cover. None of our vendors currently offer a rack fit for a regular cab, but if you have the extended cab (SuperCab as Ford calls it) or the SuperCrew cab, you can assemble a Rhino Rack roof rack using the following parts:

We have not had any customers or testing that reporting wind noise or whistling of the Darby roof rack, # DTA968. However, any time you place something on the roof of a vehicle, there will be some noise. Also, round bars do have the tendency to whistle.
For a more quiet roof rack, I will be happy to make some recommendation if I can get the year, make, and model of the vehicle. view full answer...
It sounds like you are asking the purpose of the "feet" of the Inno roof rack that fits your 2010 Pontiac Vibe. What the feet do is act as a base for the crossbars, and an attachment point for the fit kit. So what you will do is attach the fit kit to the feet, with the fit kit being what allows the rack to clamp to your door sills; then the crossbars will attach to the feet.
Essentially, the feet of a roof rack act as something of an anchor for the crossbars so you can mount them. The... view full answer...

All of the roof racks we carry for your vehicle will use the same tower assembly for all four towers. For example the Thule roof rack consisting of the Wingbars # TH711320, Foot pack # TH710601 and fit kit # TH186045. All four of the # TH710601 towers are the same height. So if the curvature of the roof causes the OEM crossbars to be slightly uneven, this will also be the case with an aftermarket roof rack. Unfortunately there is no work around. view full answer...
