Will Installing Roof Rack on 2011 Ford Flex w/ Vista Roof Cause Glass Panels to Leak

Question:

I have a 2011 Ford Flex with a naked roof. It also has the vista roof with a sunroof and three other glass panels. I was interested in a roof rack. However the dealer told me not to install any after market roof racks since they would cause leakage at the roof glass panels. Have you heard of any such things occurring? thanks

I have included a link to all of the roof racks that we offer for the 2011 Ford Flex with the vista roof. These roof rack systems do not come in contact with the roof panels so I am not aware as to how they would cause leakage but I made a few calls to my contacts at our roof rack manufacturers just to confirm. Each said that they have no reported issues with the roof racks causing any problems with the glass roof panels.

With this being said, I recommend taking a look at the Rhino-Rack ROC 25 Roof Rack with Vortex Aero Crossbars, # RR82YR for black. This roof rack is not only economical but it is aerodynamic so it is quiet and the low profile, from-the-factory, look makes this my favorite style of roof rack. I have included a short video for you.

I always like to remind everyone to check the roof capacity of their vehicle before loading any cargo onto the roof. Exceeding the roof weight capacity could damage your vehicle.
