In some certain cases you might use an axle that is longer than the width of the trailer frame, such as if larger fenders or other structures cover that extra axle length. But usually you will want the axle length to be a closer fit. The axle spring seats may not be in the right places on the axle beam if the trailer is much less wide.
Matching an axle's weight rating for the gross trailer weight is critical to ensure the axle is not overloaded.
On the linked page you can see both beam... view full answer...
Since the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Class IV Trailer Hitch Receiver # 41938 isn't a fit for your 1975 GMC C25 because of the spacing, the best bet is to look another hitch. The Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Class V # 41947 is a confirmed fit and also has a 2 inch hitch receiver opening. It also has a maximum GTW of 15,000 pounds.
Another option is the B&W Heavy-Duty Class V # BWHDRH25122 which has a GTW of 16,000 pounds. I've attached an install video of this hitch on a 1986 Chevy just to give... view full answer...
For the Hayes Energize XPC brake controller the wiring harness that connects into the wiring of your 1996 GMC K1500 is # HA81789-HBC. It needs to be hardwired into your truck with the black wire going to 12-volt power, white to ground, the blue goes to the rear of your truck to power the trailer brakes, and the red connects to the stop light switch which is the wire coming from the truck's brake pedal connector that is hot only when the pedal is pressed. You can test this with a circuit... view full answer...

I have a great alternative for you. Unfortunately, I confirmed with Extang that the Extang BlackMax Soft Tonneau Cover model 2305 has been discontinued from production. However, with that being said, a great tonneau cover that is confirmed to fit your 1987 GMC Sierra (with a short bed) is the Access TonnoSport Soft, Roll-Up Tonneau Cover # A22020029. The TonnoSport is a great aerodynamic cover that reduces wind drag and improves gas mileage by up to 10 percent. Also, the TonnoSport comes... view full answer...
The only Class V hitch we offer for your 1998 GMC C/K Series 1 Ton pickup is the TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch Receiver item # TLC1201. Thank you for your purchase of the Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # Y36FR!
Yes, if you don't like how the clamps of the OnRamp connect to your Aventon Level e-bikes then you'll want to use the Swagman Bike Frame Adapter Bar # S57FR for an easier connection that is a little more centered over the frame. If the Yakima clamp won't fit over the top tube of your standard frame bike then this adapter bar would come in handy as a better point to secure the bike as well.

The Aries Round Nerf Bars # AA204037-2 are designed to fit the 1978 GMC C/K Series with a regular cab. As long as your Sierra has the regular cab these will fit your truck. If you have the crew or extended cab there are no nerf bars that will fit so the only option would be side steps like the # CARR124031. view full answer...
The old multi-fit trailer hitch, 37042, was made obsolete in August of 2009. But I managed to find a list of the vehicles that it fits. It does NOT fit your 2000 GMC 1/2 ton pickup truck. The most popular hitch for a 2000 GMC C/K Series 1500 is # C14081. I also recommend ball mount kit # EBMK2416. And if you need trailer wiring use # 118315.
If your truck is a Sierra (2000 was a split year) then the most popular hitch for the 1500 is # 13322. I also recommend ball mount kit # EBMK4. And... view full answer...
I would agree that the problem appears to be on the vehicle side. Generally speaking, most of the time when a vehicle's fuse blows as a result from attaching a trailer, the cause is usually attributed to either the trailers lights exceeding the vehicle's trailer lighting circuit or there is a short somewhere along the wiring harness. If you have previously pulled the trailer with the vehicle in the past, then I would lean towards a wiring issue but if you have never pulled this trailer... view full answer...
We do have an option for a trailer hitch that will fit your 1990 GMC Sierra with your customized roll pan bumper but Draw-Tite 40050 will not work. The hitches that are confirmed to fit your truck are the Draw-Tite # 41522 and Curt # 13942, though these will require you to cut your bumper for receiver access.
If you (understandably) do not want to do that another option is the universal fit Draw-Tite # 41990-16 which fits frames up to 44 inches wide and has 16 inch tall brackets. This... view full answer...

The Brophy Cable Camper Jacks - 67" Max Lift Height - 3,000 lbs - Qty 2 # CJ74 don't really stick out . They hold the camper pretty much flush with the edge of the camper. I went into our warehouse to measure for you and the 2x2 inch l bracket that holds the edge of your camper is 4-1/4 inches from the support pole. The outermost edge of that bracket is 6-1/2 inches from the pole. The issue you may face is that the tripod foot support is directly in line with that l bracket. It doesn't... view full answer...
There is absolutely a way for you to get an extension of at least 3 feet with your 1996 GMC 2500 C/K so you can take your boat along when using your truck camper.
To do this you will need to install the TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch Receiver # TLC1201, which fits your '96 GMC 2500, so long as you have the standard or step bumper. Adding this hitch is the only way to get an extender which is long enough to meet your needs.
With this hitch installed you can then add the hitch... view full answer...
The Draw-Tite Class III Trailer Hitch, # 75034, will fit your 1987 GMC 1500 as long as it does not have a deep drop bumper. If your truck has an 8 ft bed and a deep drop bumper, then you will instead need the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 41504. I have attached a photo of a typical deep drop bumper if you are not familiar with them.
If your truck has a 6 ft bed, then you will need additional hardware to complete the installation. You will need six 3/8 inch spacer blocks, # 01077-011, and... view full answer...

For your 1989 GMC K1500 4WD Extended Cab with the 10" Drop bumper I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V XD - 2" # C15317 as it is designed to work with the 10" drop bumper on your truck, and has a 2400lb tongue weight rating and a 16000lb trailer weight rating making it a very heavy duty hitch. While this hitch has high ratings your truck may not so I recommend checking the owner's manual to find your trucks towing capacity and using the lower ratings between... view full answer...
To install a brake controller on your 1997 GMC K3500 you'll first need to install a 4-way wiring harness. If you don't already have one then I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118315. From there you can install a 7-way with the # ETBC7 to transfer your brake signal to your trailer.
Once you have your wiring all in place you can then install a brake controller. I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller - Proportional # RED24FR.... view full answer...
