There is a tuner that will work with your 2005 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a 5.3L V8 and allows for tuning the shift points as well as shift firmness, which is a tuner and monitor from Edge:
- Edge Gas Evolution CTS3 Performance Tuner - Color Screen # EP39YR
I verified with Edge that the CTS3 # EP39YR allows you to tune the shift points for better fuel economy; it also has a rev limiter which can do the same, and has a large, 5 inch color touch screen so it's super simple to use. view full answer...
Based on the picture you provided you will need to replace the center hangers on your triple axle trailer with the Center Hanger for Double-Eye Springs - 5-7/16" Tall - 3/4" Bolt Hole # 115919 which is just under 2-1/4" taller than the center hangers included in the # APTT5 you purchased and will give you the additional clearance you need.
I included a video of the # 115919 for you to take a look at. view full answer...
When using the Reese Hitch Extender # RP11006 (or any similar adapter) the weight capacity of your trailer hitch is reduced by 50 percent. This just means that when you're using the extender the TorkLift SuperHitch Trailer Hitch Receiver # TLC1205 that you purchased, which features a 17,000 pound towing weight capacity and a 1,700 pound tongue weight capacity, will have its capacities reduced to 8,500 pounds and 850 pounds respectively. This is due to the extra movement that adding another... view full answer...

The gooseneck hitch I recommend for your 2005 Silverado is the B&W Turnoverball, part # BWGNRK1059.
This gooseneck kit includes a custom installation kit and when installed and with the ball removed, flipped over and installed in the ball opening gives you complete bed access when you are not towing. Another great feature is that if you ever decide to tow a fifth wheel trailer you can use the B&W Companion fifth wheel hitch like part # BWRVK3400-5W.
If you need a 7-way trailer connector... view full answer...
The slip-on mirrors that fit the 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500 such as # KS80900 exclude models that have factory mirrors with any light features that are not flush to the mirror/housing. they also will not fit models with telescoping mirrors or mirrors with chrome caps.
Since there are a lot of exclusions for the custom fit models I recommend going with some universal towing mirrors, # KS3990. they will fit stock mirrors that have a lip or gap between the glass and mirror housing. I have... view full answer...

I would recommend the Reese Strait-Line Hitch 800 lbs TW / 12,000 lbs GTW, item # RP66073, this is the best system we have and actually works to keep sway from happening rather than stop it after it starts like other systems. The tongue weight that you mentioned falls right in the middle of the weight rating for this system so it is the perfect match for your trailer and would allow you to upgrade in the future if needed.
Along with the weight distribution system you will need a weight... view full answer...
The brake controller wiring of your 2011 Chevy Silverado does not use the standard colors we've found when installing a brake controller. What you'll need to do is test the wiring you found under the dash and wire the controller up to it accordingly. Using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 test the wires you have. The wire that has voltage all the time is the 12 volt power and goes to black wire of the controller, the one that has voltage only when brakes are applied gets ran to red... view full answer...
Some cargo carriers do have a rise in the shank such as # 63153. It has a rise of 2-1/2 inches. Curt cargo carrier # C18110 has a rise of 3-3/4 inches and would be a good option for you.
You could also use a multi-purpose ball mount, # D210. When using the receiver portion it will raise the accessory nearly 4 inches from the top of the hitch receiver opening to the bottom of the receiver on the ball mount. The receiver capacity on D210 is 350 pounds so you have to stay within its capacity.... view full answer...
That's not a standard trailer tire size so I would have to recommend you go with a new wheel and tire since vehicle tires just aren't reinforced for use on a trailer and could cause handling issues as well as failure.
The closest size we have is the part # AM31985 which is size ST175/80R13 mounted on a 5 lug wheel. view full answer...

Ideally, you want the Total Tongue Weight of the trailer (TTW, which includes the fully loaded and ready to tow trailer PLUS the weight of any gear in the truck bed behind the rear axle) to fall as close as possible to the middle of the effective range of the weight distribution system you choose.
We offer one system with integrated sway control that has an effective range of 1000-1700 lbs, which would be the Reese Strait-Line, part # RP66075. This system is only compatible with 2-1/2... view full answer...

A good set of tire chains will provide better traction than snow tires in deep snow and ice and also help a ton with your steep driveway when it's slick.
The advantage of snow tires is there isn't a low speed limit like with chains and you don't have the setup process. The issue is that snow tires can handle really stange on dry pavement since the treads are soft and the tires themselves are skinner. This means if you don't plan on constantly being in the snow and think you'll be dealing... view full answer...
