Welcome to etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Scrubblade Platinum hybrid style windshield wiper blades for the 2020 Ford Escape. These are gonna come in a kit with a 20 inch blade and a 24 inch blade. Let's get them installed. The big point for the Scrubblades is that you're gonna get the two blade design here, so you have the first edge to clear things out of the way and the second edge to really clean things up. This is gonna shine mostly in, like, an off-roading situation, if you drive down gravel roads on the way out of your neighborhood or your house.
And they're not necessarily the best for commuter style driving, when you're on a normal road, not a lot of bugs, not a lot of dirt. These tend to make more noise when they're wiping across the windshield and that's more forgivable in situations where you do have more debris, where you need the second blade, but for most day to day use I would highly recommend checking out a single blade style windshield wiper blade. The Scrubblade does a good job of providing adapters for whatever style connections you have for the wiper arms on your vehicle. Using these tabs down here, you pinch those and you can pull out the central component. So you can switch between a J Hook adapter or this one here, which slides into this cowling.
And line this up, push it down until it clicks. There we go, nice and secure. I had a blanket down here today, so that way if the arm did snap back while I was installing this it's not gonna crack the windshield. But, carefully lowering this down. Now we can take a comparison between the old wiper blade and the new one we just installed.
Now, the Scrubblade is on the passenger side and the old wiper blade is on the driver's side right in front of me. So, activating the wipers here, you can see that the old blade is leaving a lot of streaks right there with buildup. Whereas, the Scrubblade is actually clearing everything out of the way. And now you can see that the windshield was fairly dirty before we started this and the Scrubblade has actually pushed more of the debris that was on the windshield out of the way, than this other one right here in front of me. After doing that little test, I'm honestly a little happier with the Scrubblade's performance than I thought I was gonna be.
And that dual blade design did actually come in handy clearing off some of the caked on debris. Now you can see there's a crack here in the windshield, and wiper blades are something that you want to change out seasonally, but if you do have a damaged windshield and you get it replaced, I highly recommend also taking that opportunity to switch out your wiper blades as well. Just because any nicks, cracks, scratches in the glass can damage the blades of your wiper and then cause more unnecessary noise, debris, or just skipping to happen on the wiper blade. Now this is a hybrid style blade, so it's gonna have this protective outer coating over a frame style construction underneath and that's gonna give you multiple points of contact along the edge of the blade, so that way you get a nice smooth swipe across the windshield. And this outer covering is really nice to have for instances, in the winter time when ice and snow might cake up in there. Having that protection so it can't kick up in there, means that you're not gonna have chunks of ice and snow attached to your wiper blade and scratching all the way across your windshield when you do turn them on. And that was a look at the Scrubblade Platinum hybrid style windshield wiper blades here on the 2020 Ford Escape..

Designed to fit your vehicle.Who decides on size of box for shipping and do you train them on securing product for shipment? I ordered two wiper blades, two heater door clips, sewer flush king and sewer cap. They were shipped in a huge box (21"x26"). So big that the flush king came out of its packaging from being tossed around inside the box. I'm sure everything was bounced around the entire trip to my door cause there was only one small strip of filler for cushion and the box was crushed onretailer. It could have been shipped in a box half that size. I'm actually not expecting my flush king to stay together long. Disappointed in the shipping package. I guess you take your chances. I never expected this from etrailer.
So far, so good. They handle the rain and snow pretty well. The only thing I'm not quite sure of is icing up. They do seem to ice up some so you're better off flipping the blades off your windshield when major snow is expected. My truck takes a 20" and a 22" so this review covers both.
I use these on 2 trucks that travel the lower 48 and Canada so they see all kinds of weather. I’ve found that they are more effective than the popular premium brand blades (tried them all) and last a bit longer as well. This is important when you don’t wanna change blades at every season change. I get about 6 months or 50,000 miles of heavy use out of them. A good tip is to use that popular rain repellent glass cleaner and also clean the wiper blades with it. You’ll use your wipers less and they’ll be quieter when you do.
Not great. Blades lasted just a few months then got hard and brittle went back to the Bosch brand blades

The longevity of a wiper blade can vary. They can last from 6 months to a year however various factors such as ultraviolet light, heat, cold, engine exhaust, smog, dust, dirt, road salts and grime can shorten the life of the blade. That being said the manufacturer will reach out to you about your experience.
The retainer clips constantly released and finally one broke off. My wipers turned on while frozen down and ripped one blade out of its track. While they do wipe nice when intact, the mounting part leaves alot to be desired. I recently replaced them after only one year.
i hate to say it but these wiper blades are the worst i have ever bought. i got two sets, one for my truck and one for my wife's car. they skreek and scrub and both sets have a big skip area on the passenger side.
This is a great business to deal with. Number one in customer service and wonderful communication. I highly recommend anyone that needs the produces they carry to use them over any others. Even if the cost is slightly more from here, which I doubt because etrailer is very competitive in their prices, it’s worth the extra to use etrailer. Peace of mind knowing you’ll get great care if the need arrives.
Substantial difference between these and regular one wiper blades. Windshield cleans up faster and better.
Brent was very helpful at placing my order and getting it shipped very quickly, Scrubble wiper blades work the best of all I have tried, buy yourself a pair and see for yourself
Florida is the best test area for these wiper blade's and they are fantastic.
Bought a set for my Tacoma pick up and one for the wife's Forrester, love these. Only wish they sold the shorter one for the rear window of the Subaru as it would've put my total into the FREE SHIPPING category!
I've only had these a short time. But, they're so much better than my old wipers, even on their best day. If you're tired of the streaks, these should do the trick.

After a year they are still going strong. I use them every time I am about to head out for a drive just to get my windshield good and clean.
Had some trouble with the installation but these wipers are the best I have ever had. I will definitely repurchase,
I already purchased a pair last year their excellent and do a great job
I did not see anything special about these wipers. They now are squeeking whith each wipe now. I had hope they would last longer. I put these on all 4 vehicles at the same time. This survey is for all 7 wipers purchased.
Great product, with super fast delivery! Customer service is ery helpful!
Brand new wipers leave streaks. First time I used them in the rain was at night. The wipers are very streaky. At night in rain, it is very difficult to see. Won't be buying again. Back to my Bosh ICON's. Complete waste of money.
Awesome blades that clear the windshield nicely.
Works very well on my Jaguar.
works fine and does not leave streaks..
Excellent quality, easy install with solid protection and looks great. Thank you
Brand new out of the box and they are streaky. They do knock the bodies off the windshield, but not to the point where I would buy them again.
So far the wipers work very well, will get to test them more with rain in the forecast.
Works Great
Great Wiper Blades! Fast delivery. Exactly what I needed.

Very well. I do have to clean them occasionally, but other than that no problems
