Video Transcript for Scrubblade Platinum Windshield Wiper Blade Installation - 2020 Chevrolet Colorado

Hey everybody, welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby and today we're taking a look at the Scrubblade Platinum windshield wiper blade on our 2020 Chevy Colorado. Now, this is gonna be a great, simple way to go ahead and repair those wiper blades for ourselves. Now, if I'm looking at this guy what I'm primarily gonna be using it for if I have a lot of highway driving, or if I'm with a lot of area of debris and bug guts and whatnot on there. Why that is, is we are getting a dual hybrid blade on this bad boy. So you can see on the inside here we are getting two blades.

So that first one gonna be doing a really good job of getting all of those bug guts, any of that debris, starting to break it up. And then our back one's gonna be primarily for getting that rain and water off of our windshield. So again, gonna be really doing a good job of that heavy duty stuff. Now, if you're just casual driving around this might be a little bit more, you know, unneeded for yourself, however if you want it, it'll definitely still work quite nicely for you. But taking a look at the inside here, it does have a nanographite layers on the inside.

So we know that those blades are gonna hold up quite well to the wind and resistance. So with those being pretty low profile, don't think we're gonna have any issues with the wind rising it up. So let's go ahead and take a quick look at how we can actually get it de-installed. So taking a look here on our blade, we do see that we do have a J-style hook on the inside here. It might be a little hard to see from your guys' area but there is just a little clip on the inside here.

Hopefully you can kinda hear that. So I'm just gonna go ahead and press that in with a finger and then slide this down. And then once we get it started, gonna be able to slide that J-hook like so. There we go, and we'll go ahead and release and you can see, can easily pop this guy out like so. There we go.

Now that that guy's gone, we can go ahead and actually throw in ours. As you can see, primarily this is gonna have our J-style adapter in it. However, Scrubblade offers a whole bunch of different accessories. So if for some reason your blades aren't like this, the J-style hook, you can go ahead and make sure we have the right adapter. However, I think most of us at home are gonna be having that as well. And take a look here. You can see that this is where our J-style adapter is on the inside here. There's gonna be a circle little mount right in there. That's actually where we're gonna fit our J-style into. So we'll flip this little cartridge up out of the way reinserting our J-hook like so. Kinda getting that angle just to get it in the back there and then walking it up. Like so. And we get it in position. And then we'll go ahead and bring that lever down and we're ready to wipe. Now, as you can see here today we have gone ahead and thrown a towel. I definitely recommend putting one of those down even maybe a foam blocker. If we are accidentally bumping this and we don't have a blade on here that can snap down and hurt our windshield. So make sure before we get it started too much we are throwing a towel or something underneath. Well, that does it for the driver's side. Let's go ahead and take a look at the passenger. Gonna be pretty much the same process. So this is might be where things are a little different at home. Again, let's make sure that we have a towel or a foam blocker, just protecting our windshield as we go. And as well, this might be a little different at home. However, today we do have a little clip in here. Let me get a little better angle of it now. You can see that little clip just needs to be pushed up. Trying to start this can be a little tricky. Oh. Like so. Making sure we're not damaging this as we go. So you can see getting that nice and released. And again, we just pop open this tab like so. We do have our J-style adapter with us today. And we want to reinsert this arm. Getting it underneath first and then just pulling to completion. You're gonna to hear it snap together. And then you go ahead and clip that down and we're ready to wipe. So here we are, just gonna simulate a little bit of rain being added. As you can see gonna be doing a good job of clearing all that off. Starting to scrub as well as you see a little bit of debris getting nice and put up there. This is gonna be doing a little better job if it's nice and fresh, obviously, but still doing a good job. Well, as I mentioned before. I think this is really gonna be necessary if you have a lot of highway driving, if you're getting a lot of debris on that windshield. If you're just looking for some casual rain clearance I might recommend something else. However, price points really aren't that big of a difference. I think these do a really good job with those dual action blades. And of course that nanographite is gonna be doing a good job of holding these blades up for the long durability. Well, I think that about does it for a look at the Scrubblade Platinum windshield wiper blades on our 2020 Chevy Colorado. I'm Bobby. Thank you for watching..

I just installed the "scrubblade premium" wiper blades on my vehicle. Haven't had the opportunity to actually use them yet, but I am impressed with the quality of the product, ease of installation and overall appearance. I look forward to seeing how the blades actually perform this Winter. As usual, "etrailer" was a PLEASURE to deal with and, I must say, that I have never been disappointed with the quality of any of their products that I have purchased in the past. Thanks again etrailer.

After one year using these blades, I am VERY pleased with the quality, performance and wear that these blades provide. I will DEFINITELY replace with the same when that time comes.

Chevrolet Silverado

My daughter needed blades for her Silverado. I was tired of spending $40 on blades that didn’t work all that well to begin with and only had an effective life of a couple of months. I put them on her truck with the windshield covered with a heavy coat of pollen. She hit the washer and it was gone in one cycle. They even got some of the residual bug parts. At first glance the do very well. Interested to see how long they last.

They are holding out very well. There is no sign of wear. She says that they keep the windshield clean. Her only complaint is that they squeak a little in very light rain. Definitely be buying again.

Dodge Durango

Most products I've gotten from etrailer have been great, up until this product. The adapter attachment did not work for putting it onto the subaru. This made them worthless, so I ended up going to the local subaru dealer and getting wiper blades for the same cost. I was able to make the other wipers I purchased for the Durango work, but the "scrubblade" itself does not appear to do any better than a typical wiper blade. Thumbs down on this product.

Quality of the Blades is excellent and install was a snap.

Wippers still working great as far as cleaning the Windshield only draw back is they rub on Windshield when its raining lightly.

by:

the wiper works great, but the clip holding it on isn't the best design , while removing snow from windshield , I have had it come undone, so now I have to make sure its ON< when I am done removing snow, never had that with any other wiper blade in 40+ yrs of driving

but do like the way they clean the window, so?

by:

They clean well, but they also squeak a lot. I'll probably go back to Bosch Icon blades when they become available again.

Keith

10/20/2023

Still cleaning well, but still very noisy. The first blade seems to clean too well the second is then squeaking across already clean glass.

by:

I bought these because of the Michelin name, the twin blade and scrubbable design. Awesome overall quality which I believe will give wonderful service for a long time. Thank you etrailer for providing an answer to the question: "Where is the best products for my vehicle needs?" Great job folks, great job.

by:

Appear to be a quality wiper but only weather conditions will tell the truth . Ask me in 3 months

Thomas

10/8/2023

Well, they’re still on and working. It seems when there cold they become stiff and smear.

@Thomas Wiper blades are a consumable product, they will wear out over time.

Dodge Ram Pickup

Average at best. Put a set on '18 GMC 2500 & '10 Ram 2500. Both drivers side are not good in rain. For the price they are fine but would rather pay extra & get something better. Would not purchase again.

These are super nice they work great!

They are still on the job and just cleaned them and are working fine.

by:

So comments, the issue with the blades are they do not conform to the shape of the window well and so it ends up missing places specifically at the top and bottom and then they can be very noisy when it is just a mist or light rain.

by:

Love this item. performs as expected. will certainly purchase another set when the time is right for replacement

by:

This is a great product. I will say I ran into some streaking issues about 6 months in but I'm still giving 5 stars because I should have gotten the heavy duty. The bugs in the south are just a little too much for the platinum long term. But I'm going to be sticking with the brand! Before the bugpocalypse these worked perfect and were easy to install.

2021 Ford F-150

They seem to streak worse than ether Rain x or Bosch. Really not that impressed with the product

by:

Did not last

Jay F was hands down the best. Never heard of Scrub Blades before, now I have no idea how I've lived without them. Thank you. Kudos to Jay.

@Steve We're glad they're working well for you!

by:

These worked fine for a bit but when the rains started back up this year the blades were just awful. They would move some water off the windshield but they became impossibly noisy, streaky, and could not keep up with heavy rain. I see why they were on super duper sale and they got a ride to the trash bin today. Replaced these with higher end Bosch blades and the noise, smearing, and chattering is all gone. Going to go yank the other set I bought off my old Dodge as they haven't worked worth a damn from the get go.

by:

The Bottom 3-4 inches of the blades don't make contact with the windshield while driving. Tried changing sides and everything i could think of. They just don't work.

by:

These work excellent and the quality is superb !!!!

Absolutely fantastic- just like new !

by:
2014 Nissan Rogue

do not work very well at all. they stutter across the windows and leave spots not wiped.

by:

Garbage wiper blades. They don't keep my windshield clean... not since day 1. Will never buy again.

by:

Thanks for reaching out - have mixed reviews. Two different shipments means a negative environmental impact. And the wiper blade (single, was thinking it was 2 blades) came in an unbelievably over-sized box. The chains, however, came appropriately packaged and look good, but haven't tested.

So I'd give the overall order a 3 out of 5.

by:
2014 Ram 3500

I just went through the carwash with these wipers on my Ram 3500. While passing through the air dryer, it actually blew the wiper right off of the arm. I had to pull outside and go back into the car wash and retrieve my drivers' side wiper. Not accepatble

by:

Excellent, way better than the WeatherTech rain guards I had on there before.

by:
2015 Ford F-350 Super Duty

they did not last very long rubber started separating from the blade
i will not buy these blades again

  • Is Scrubblade Platinum Blade Being Flexible Going to be a Problem for Snow
The Scrubblade Platinum Windshield Wiper Blade # SC86FR that you referenced is a solid wiper blade that I would recommend for harsh winters like where you'll be at. Having a flexible blade is more advantageous than you'd then. I've broken wiper motors in cars before thinking I could use them to push off large quantities of snow but a flexible blade would give more in that situation and prevent you from having the same issue. This actually has scrapers built into the blade to grab mud and...

  • Replacement Wiper Blade Recommendation for a 2005 Saturn Ion
I wish we carried all of what you are looking for, but we only carry the replacement blades. You would need to check with a GM dealer or a junkyard to see about getting the replacement arms. For a replacement driver side blade you would want the part # SC86FR for a replacement passenger side you would want the part # SC46FR.

  • Quantity of Scrubblade Platinum Windshield Wiper Blades SC86FR for 2014 Ram 1500
I believe the kit you are referring to is from the fit guide when you check windshield wiper fits for your 2014 Ram 1500. And the only difference is if you find that page, the "Wiper Blade Kit" you can add to your cart will be two of the Scrubblade Platinum Windshield Wiper Blade # SC86FR. So the only difference is that kit is a pair of the blades, while the # SC86FR is just a quantity of one. The wiper blades are the same for both the driver and passenger side of your 2014 Ram 1500, so...

These are all-weather, dual blades that ensures visibility in rain, sleet, and snow. They combine flexibility with a contoured shape to create even pressure distribution for improved performance. You will need the # SC26FR for the driver's side of your 2013 Toyota Tundra which are 24 inches and the 22 inch # SC86FR for the...
