Rob: Hey, everybody. It's Rob here at etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Scrubblade Platinum series line of wiper blades on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500.Now wiper blades are one of those things that a lot of people really don't think about until the last second when you need them. A lot of us are caught out in the rain and our wipers are streaking really bad, really can't see, or maybe it's winter time and we haven't thought about it. We come out in the morning, our wiper blades are frozen to the windshield, we try to clean them off, and then we end up tearing them. While your wipers are your first line of defense in inclement weather, because that's what's going to help us see out our windshields. So making sure that your wiper blades are serviceable and they're not tore and they're doing good job is very important. We have one Scrubblade on the driver's side of our truck right now, and one factory blade on the other side.
Now they're a little bit old except for the new scrubbed blade. I'll go ahead and spray so you can see how bad exactly they're streaking. You can see on that passenger side the entire middle section isn't even wiping anything. Right here, you really can't see that well out the window because we have this weird glare because of all the water that's sitting on there. Even after, if I keep wiping, eventually it kind of gets it, but really it's just smearing it around.
Again, it's kind of hard to see out of that spot.Whenever the blades do start leaving a lot of excess water, debris or whatever else on your windshield, it's typically because the rubber is starting to break down, maybe torn, maybe it's starting to fold over and it's just not doing as well of a job as it should be. It's typically time to replace your blades at that point. Now we do have the other Scrubblade with us. We are going to be replacing that and show you how to get it installed, but I'd like to go over some of the features and show you a little bit of the details before we get it in place. What's really going to make this blade stand out opposed to traditional style wiper blades is the fact that it has two blades on it. You can see there's actually two of them instead of just a single blade. Now, if we also look on the outside of the rubber, you can see it almost has a little bit of a texture to it.
That's what's actually scrubbing your windshield. As one goes, it's going to scrub all the dirt and debris off the windshield, and that secondary blade is going to pick up all the excess water and anything that's left. Then as it goes back down the other way, the blade has a textured surface, so it's going to be scrubbing it, whether it's going up or down, and then that second blade is going to continue to do the rest of the job.As you can see, it does a really good job of scrubbing all that water off, or if you have bugs, anything like that, that gets on your windshield. Maybe you go off-roading, get a little bit of mud or dirt on there, these are definitely going to do a really good job of scrubbing all that stuff off so we can see really well through the windshield. Now, the frame itself is going to be completely covered, which helps out a lot in those winter months so we don't have to worry about ice building up on top of the blade. But it's also going to help out with wind lift.
I myself have a Silverado and it seems to be when you're on the highway, if you hit a certain speed, the wipers may start to lift just a little bit off the windshield. But with these, the way they're shaped, they're not going to allow air to get underneath and it's really going to cut down on that wind lift and make sure that the wiper blade is hugged real nice and tight against the windshield. When you get your wiper blades, they're going to have the additional style hook adapter in place. Now, our Silverado doesn't have that style arm on it so we are going to need to replace the adapter. We're going to start by flipping the wiper over. Right in the center you'll see that there's a tab on either side of the rubber blade here. We want to squeeze those tabs and pull out on the large adapter, just squeeze those tabs, and then the adapter will come right out. Then we can grab the flat adapter. It's going to have two little wings, just like the ones on the one we removed. We want those two tabs to sit down into the two holes on the wiper blade itself. Just take your piece, push it down to where it clips in, it's nice and flat. Then for our Silverado, we want to grab the adapter that has the wings on the side. You can go ahead and close those wings in so they kind of fold in and go into that hole or line up our adapter piece. You just want to press down until it snaps into place, just like that. Then can go ahead and pull off the old wiper. If you look on the arm, we're going to have a little button. You want to push down on that button at the same time as you slide the wiper away. Sometimes it can be a little difficult to push down on that. You may need a screwdriver if you can't get it to unlock. You just want to push down on that button and slide out. Now, one thing I will say and I will recommend, is that you gently put the wiper blade arm down. You don't want to leave it standing up because if it does come down, that's all metal and it'll be coming in direct contact with the glass. We'll grab our new blade and we're going to take the arm and we're going to slide the wiper blade in to where that little notch comes popping out of the hole. Just like that. Once we get it in, give it a quick tug, make sure it's locked into place. That's all there is to it. We already did the other side, but you can go ahead and replace yours on the other side and that'll finish up your install and look at the Scrubblade Platinum series wiper blades on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500.

The outer blade scrubs away debris, while the inner blade clears anything left behind for clear visibility. Designed to fit your vehicle.I just installed the "scrubblade premium" wiper blades on my vehicle. Haven't had the opportunity to actually use them yet, but I am impressed with the quality of the product, ease of installation and overall appearance. I look forward to seeing how the blades actually perform this Winter. As usual, "etrailer" was a PLEASURE to deal with and, I must say, that I have never been disappointed with the quality of any of their products that I have purchased in the past. Thanks again etrailer.
My daughter needed blades for her Silverado. I was tired of spending $40 on blades that didn’t work all that well to begin with and only had an effective life of a couple of months. I put them on her truck with the windshield covered with a heavy coat of pollen. She hit the washer and it was gone in one cycle. They even got some of the residual bug parts. At first glance the do very well. Interested to see how long they last.

They are holding out very well. There is no sign of wear. She says that they keep the windshield clean. Her only complaint is that they squeak a little in very light rain. Definitely be buying again.
Most products I've gotten from etrailer have been great, up until this product. The adapter attachment did not work for putting it onto the subaru. This made them worthless, so I ended up going to the local subaru dealer and getting wiper blades for the same cost. I was able to make the other wipers I purchased for the Durango work, but the "scrubblade" itself does not appear to do any better than a typical wiper blade. Thumbs down on this product.
Quality of the Blades is excellent and install was a snap.

Wippers still working great as far as cleaning the Windshield only draw back is they rub on Windshield when its raining lightly.
the wiper works great, but the clip holding it on isn't the best design , while removing snow from windshield , I have had it come undone, so now I have to make sure its ON< when I am done removing snow, never had that with any other wiper blade in 40+ yrs of driving
but do like the way they clean the window, so?
I bought these because of the Michelin name, the twin blade and scrubbable design. Awesome overall quality which I believe will give wonderful service for a long time. Thank you etrailer for providing an answer to the question: "Where is the best products for my vehicle needs?" Great job folks, great job.
They clean well, but they also squeak a lot. I'll probably go back to Bosch Icon blades when they become available again.

Still cleaning well, but still very noisy. The first blade seems to clean too well the second is then squeaking across already clean glass.
Appear to be a quality wiper but only weather conditions will tell the truth . Ask me in 3 months

Well, they’re still on and working. It seems when there cold they become stiff and smear.
Average at best. Put a set on '18 GMC 2500 & '10 Ram 2500. Both drivers side are not good in rain. For the price they are fine but would rather pay extra & get something better. Would not purchase again.
These are super nice they work great!

They are still on the job and just cleaned them and are working fine.
So comments, the issue with the blades are they do not conform to the shape of the window well and so it ends up missing places specifically at the top and bottom and then they can be very noisy when it is just a mist or light rain.
Love this item. performs as expected. will certainly purchase another set when the time is right for replacement
This is a great product. I will say I ran into some streaking issues about 6 months in but I'm still giving 5 stars because I should have gotten the heavy duty. The bugs in the south are just a little too much for the platinum long term. But I'm going to be sticking with the brand! Before the bugpocalypse these worked perfect and were easy to install.
They seem to streak worse than ether Rain x or Bosch. Really not that impressed with the product
Did not last
Jay F was hands down the best. Never heard of Scrub Blades before, now I have no idea how I've lived without them. Thank you. Kudos to Jay.

The greatest thing I never knew I needed. Jay F is the best.
These worked fine for a bit but when the rains started back up this year the blades were just awful. They would move some water off the windshield but they became impossibly noisy, streaky, and could not keep up with heavy rain. I see why they were on super duper sale and they got a ride to the trash bin today. Replaced these with higher end Bosch blades and the noise, smearing, and chattering is all gone. Going to go yank the other set I bought off my old Dodge as they haven't worked worth a damn from the get go.
The Bottom 3-4 inches of the blades don't make contact with the windshield while driving. Tried changing sides and everything i could think of. They just don't work.
These work excellent and the quality is superb !!!!

Absolutely fantastic- just like new !
do not work very well at all. they stutter across the windows and leave spots not wiped.
Garbage wiper blades. They don't keep my windshield clean... not since day 1. Will never buy again.
Thanks for reaching out - have mixed reviews. Two different shipments means a negative environmental impact. And the wiper blade (single, was thinking it was 2 blades) came in an unbelievably over-sized box. The chains, however, came appropriately packaged and look good, but haven't tested.
So I'd give the overall order a 3 out of 5.
I just went through the carwash with these wipers on my Ram 3500. While passing through the air dryer, it actually blew the wiper right off of the arm. I had to pull outside and go back into the car wash and retrieve my drivers' side wiper. Not accepatble
Excellent, way better than the WeatherTech rain guards I had on there before.
they did not last very long rubber started separating from the blade
i will not buy these blades again

After one year using these blades, I am VERY pleased with the quality, performance and wear that these blades provide. I will DEFINITELY replace with the same when that time comes.
