Video Transcript for Malone Xpress TRX Kayak Cart Review

Hey everyone, it's Evangeline. And today, we're gonna be talking about a kayak cart, which is the Malone Express TRX with flat-free wheels. This is gonna be the scupper style kayak cart and we'll take a look at it right here at etrailer.com. This is a scupper style kayak cart, meaning if your kayak has scupper holes, like what we have here, then the kayak cart sticks up through those holes and gives you that extra grip and traction. If you don't have scupper holes, that's perfectly fine. Make sure to check out our different types of kayak carts.

Maybe the bunk style one will work for you. So those fishing kayaks can get pretty heavy. We have our sit-on-top kayak right over here. And once you have your paddles in there, you've got your box, you have all your different goodies, like your fish finder, it's a lot of weight to cart around. When we first got this kayak, I had three friends helping me out.

But with the cart, this makes it where you can still get your kayak out to the water all by yourself. So we have the flat-free wheel style, and that's perfect for this situation where we're getting the kayak out onto a pond. We had to go over some gravel, and then we had to go over some pavement, then we had to go down a muddy trail, and finally, we are here at the dock. So with those flat-free wheels, it's able to maneuver around the different types of terrain and you don't have to worry about popping a hole in them. I like using the scupper style of a kayak cart just because it goes up through the hole and gives you all of that traction and grip on your boat.

You also have padding on those posts that way wherever it touches your boat it's all padded into care. Underneath you have thicker foam blocks and this is what's supporting your boat's weight when you lift it up at an angle. This has a thicker foam because you need to fit around that bunk underneath your kayak. And even if your boat is wet, it won't slip on it. You can also get this cart with the balloon wheels, or even get the balloon wheels separately and add them on.

And that's just gonna change the situations you could use this cart in. So these balloon wheels are gonna be great for if you have the beach and sand. So when you have your heavy boats, tires that have those treads or are thinner sink into the sand so quickly, and you're just dragging the weight of everything. The balloon wheels help distribute that weight because it is wider, it has more cushion, and it doesn't have those treads, so it's awesome for your soft surfaces. And even though they're called balloon wheels,, they still have this sturdy rubber material that makes up the wheels, which means they aren't gonna puncture that easily. You even have a pump that's included with this kit to top off the pressure in case the wheels feel a little bit low. The downside to these though is if you have rough terrain, let's say a lot of twigs, a lot of ruts, I still would recommend the flat-free wheels instead, just because those are designed for the outdoorsy rough terrain. So is this the right cart for your kayak Well, this can carry up to 250 pounds. So just weigh your boat. Plus, the scupper posts can be adjusted. If you go ahead and take some measurements of your scupper holes, if it's either 3 1/4 inches apart all the way up to 16 inches apart, then this kayak cart will work for you. I currently have it at its highest point because my boat is heavy and I need that extra leverage, but you can also adjust it to a lower point. That is going to be four inches in difference. To get it into the water, you do have to take the scupper post out, which can be a little tricky compared to a bunk style. What I found was the best way to do it was just to tip the kayak over onto the side, where you don't have accessories. Do it gently just to clear the wheels. And once those wheels are clear, you can then just take off the cart. This is where you could disassemble it. I just toss it right back onto the kayak, and then you're ready for lift off. If you do wanna disassemble it, you can just press on this push button to remove the wheels. And you have clips here if you wanna take off those scupper posts. Oh, don't forget to put those scupper plugs right back in before you hit the water. So my personal thoughts about the Malone Express TRX kayak cart is it does take a little bit of work to set up, but imagine how much more work it would be to actually get your heavy kayak out onto the water. If you're by yourself and you just wanna enjoy a nice day of fishing, you wanna make sure you can enjoy a nice day of fishing. So having a kayak cart will help out with that. Definitely something worth considering just make sure to get the right fit for you and your kayak. And that was a look at the Malone Express TRX kayak cart with a flat-free wheels here at etrailer.com. My name is Evangeline and I hope you enjoyed the journey..

I've been paddling since 2008 and now own "5" carts including yours !!!! Yours is good except that the wheels roll when placing the kayak on to the cart !!!!! I have a few chocks for the wheels which save me, the wheels are PLASTIC WHICH I was not expecting, looked and sounded good on line. I did get the Wilderness Pungo 120 onto the cart and rolled it around the drive, it's good I guess. I was looking for an aid to help me with my heavy boat and your cart is ok but not good at this time. I will use it and see how it goes.
Sorry to be negative but nothing seems to help with the weight of the boat and Iam not giving up at 74 years old. I do own a Malone Kayak Trailer and I love it.

Order process was effortless . Excellent tracking information kept me up to date on where the cart was during shipping . This is my second Malone Kayak cart. I currently use one for my Wilderness Systems Pungo 120 and now use the bunk style on a Perception Outlaw Fishing kayak. They both work great for my applications.

Easy assemble and set up. Made a trip to the lake a breeze. Perfect for unconventional hull types.
