The Pop & Lock is made of sturdy, armored steel to resist tampering. It mounts in the recess under your tailgate handle, so thieving varmints can't pop it out. Today we're going to review part number PAL2500. This is the Pop & Lock Custom Manual Tailgate Lock. Now, this is a custom fit part number. It is designed to fit the foreign trucks without the factory power locks starting in 1997. Now, on any custom fit part, what I would recommend is go to our website, use our fit guide, put in your year and model of vehicle and it will show you if this part will work for your application. Now this is a keyed tailgate lock which will discourage theft of your cargo and even of your tailgate. Helps creates secure storage for your valuables when used with a tonneau cover or truck-bed cap.
It's a tough, armored steel lock which will resist tampering. It is customized for your vehicle. This part will integrates into your OEM handle, gives you that factory look. It has a raised lock, as you can see right here for quick key access. It's a very easy installation, there's no drilling or welding required.
It just only uses basic tools to install. It does include everything showing here on the table. Includes the lock assembly, included the striker plate, includes the alcohol wipe which is used to clean where you're going to attach the striker plate to. Includes the two keys and also a nice set of detailed instructions to help you with he installation. Basically how you would .. just put your key in, and you'll be able to see as you turn it.

2004 Ford F-150 Heritage Series
A little disappointed with this purchase. I didn't care for the loot, nor was I convinced it was all that secure. Having said that. Removed it and for less than half of the expensive I found it easier to convert my tailgate to a locking tailgate with a $5 junk yard handle mechanism and a $25 lock cylinder.

The lock was shipped the same day I ordered it. I received it yesterday and installed it today. The install time was about 30 minutes including removing and installing the panel on the inside of the tailgate. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. The person I installed it for was pleased with the lock and the way it works.

Fit and looks good.
Fairly light steel, 14 ga or so, so it could be pried out, but it is intended to deter the grab and go tailgate thieves, so it does a good job.

- Tailgate Lock for a 1999 Ford F-150We do have tailgate lock options for the 1999 Ford F-150 but none from Bully that fit. I have included a link to the locks that will fit your truck. There are different locks for differently equipped trucks. If the truck has factory power locks you can use # PAL8250 if you want to be able to lock the tailgate with the power door locks.
