Only issue was while watching the locking mechanism before I put the cover plate back on the tail gate, the little spring was getting snagged on the factory 10mm bolt head. The bolt head was too tall to let the spring return to the unlocked position. Easy fix, just found another bolt with the same thread just shorter head. Problem solved. Or you could just grind down the bolt.
Very happy with my purchase. Received multiple emails notifying me that my purchase was received and also shipped which also provided tracking info. Received my replacement locking tailgate handle in two days and it only took five minutes to install. Looks factory and looks and works great. Will definitely order from etrailer again!
I installed the tailgate lock within 5 minutes, you provided very good and easy to follow instructions. Great product and supper fast shipment.
The product was so easy to install that after I finished; I thought about installing them for a living...Hahahaha. No, but it was very easy, and works great!
Part fit perfectly, however, mechanism had a LOT more play in it than the original part. I may just mount the lock cylinder that came on the new part on the old part so there is less play in the system. First time I locked the tail gate with the hard cover closed, I had to break into it to get the tail gate down.

I have had to remove the lock assembly and reinforce it with nylon wire ties to keep it working. It is DEFINITELY NOT as good as the OEM !

The delivery time was great for the times we are going thru. A great match for my truck easy to install. I scoured the web for this part and you were the only place I found it available. The replacement cylinder alone from GMC was $58.00, and you had to configure your ignition key to fit it. I ain't no locksmith.

Installation was a breeze. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. I would highly recommend this product as a replacement for the original tailgate lock with handle at a fraction of the cost quoted by the dealership.

I always approach items such as this latch replacement with a bit of concern but this was as advertised. Easy to install and it works perfectly. Anyone wanting to add a locking latch, this item is perfect.
I have no automotive skills at all and I installed this in about 10 minutes, and it works!
As advertised, this was a direct bolt in replacement. It took me a total of 10 mins to replace the broken handle/lock. The dealer fix this once before (about 2 years ago and it cost me $110. I would say you handle was a better value.
The Pop & Lock arrived when promised, and was easy to install. Now I can use my tailgate again.
I read other reviews that said things were loose and they had problems. So I took the time to tighten some rivets and took the stock rod holders off and put them on this. Haven’t had a problem yet.
Works as intended, has held up great so far. Quality construction and easy installation.
It works for what it is, only issue I have is the keys are cheap and instantly broke testing the lock prior to installing it. Other then that it is a good product.
Installed in about 20 minutes . It replaced a non locking handle of a 2012 Chevy Colorado
