Replacement Pop and Lock Tailgate Lock for a 2004 GMC Sierra
Question:
I have a 2004 GMC Sierra with an aftermarket pop and Lock assembly on it. Some thief attempted to get the tailgate and broke the handle and mechanism, but fortunately did not get the tailgate. I need a handle, latch, and lock replacement. I searhcd and was led to your web page with a PAL1700 on it that looks identical to my broken assembly. It then asked for the year, make and model. I was then directed to a page with several parts and pieces to order, but none of the complete assemblies as shown like the PAL1700. My question is, I need the entire assembly handle, lock, and the mechanism under the bezel that bolts to the tailgate. Can you tell me what part number I need to replace my current pop and Lock assembly?

All the Pop and Lock assemblies we sell for your 2004 GMC Sierra utilize the factory tail gate handle, that may be why the ones you see do not look like what you have.
Since the latch handle and everything appears factory like the # PAL1700 I am going to assume you need the power model available for your vehicle. For that you would want the part # PAL8110. You will still need a factory handle since yours is damaged and this does not come with one. You might try a junk yard or an online auction site.
It is good to hear that this product was able to prevent thieves from stealing your tailgate.
