Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Pace Edwards Power Gate Electric Tailgate Lock. This system is going to mount on the inside of your tailgate, and it will wire to your truck door locks so that you can operate the tailgate lock when your doors are locked. So, very simple to help secure your tailgate, especially when you use with a tonneau cover or a bed cap. This will do a great job of securing anything that you have in your truck bed.
This is a custom fit system, so it is going to work for your 2007 GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado New Body, as well as your 2008 through 2013 GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado, and your 2014 Sierra and Silverado 2500 and 3500. All of those models with the eight foot bed. So if you have any of those Sierra or Silverado models, this kit is going to install very simply for you. They do include instructions to walk you through that process. Make sure that everything is installed properly.
This is a plug and go wiring system so you've got a lot of plugs that will fit together and then splice into your door lock wires to get power to open and close it. You are going to get the actuator, the stainless steel backing plate, the slide bolt, and the nylon guide block, all included. And so everything that you're gonna need to get this system installed so that you can lock your tailgate when you lock the doors of your vehicle. That completes our look for today. Now I can feel safe that my tonneau cover will be locked. There's no key whole, so nothing to Jimmy. Very protected. Also, the lock actuator feels and sounds very sturdy and capable.
Very on time.
Perfect fit.
I feel like there could of been an install video. Would have made the process easier to grasp.
P.S. follow the instructions step by step; they are very insightful into the car model and all its intricacies.

Just the part I needed and it was very helpful to have a real person pick up the phone when I called to ask questions. AND my tailgate locks perfectly now! Wish I had ordered sooner but at least I can check that job off my "to do" list.

The way this works is the solenoid to block the handle from being lifted, all I can see happening is the handle breaking. The solenoid should lock/unlock the actual lock cylinder (if equipped). Wiring diagram for 2013 Toyota Tundra is poor, so I haven’t hooked it up yet.

we were able to install the product just fine, but it doesn't work properly. it only goes one way. We spent hours going over the wiring and everything was correct, the unit just didn't work correctly. we finally gave up. the product is still on the truck but is not being used.

Doesn't appear to fit for 2017 F-150, but instructions were so blurry and smudged when it arrived so its effectively useless for actually following for the install.

Went together like a dream. So easy because it is well-engineered and the fitment is precise. It went in under an hour as the wiring to the electrical was already there due to a failed prior install.

This item worked on my truck. Had a little problem with the installing of the lock. Had to ajust the lock rod on the passenger side of the tailgate, for clearance for lock to fit, and work smoothly. Works Great now.
