This hitch has exceeded our expectations for purchasing a hitch on line. The assemble was easy and was done in about and your. Was able to fit in right in, it replaced our factor hitch. It has served us well on many camping trips. We are pulling a 1984 camper and it has no issues at all with the weight. Good product from a good place. Keep up the good work.

Hitch bolted right up. No problems. Hardware kit was short 1 Carriage Bolt, Nut & Lock Washer, but I got'em at the local hardware.

I have towed my 24 foot pontoon boat, my 19 foot bass boat and numerous other trailers with nary a problem. No clanks, rattles or kerchunks. I highly recommend this hitch.

The shipping packaging left a lot to be desired, it was wrapped in plastic wrap, not particularly protected from scrapes and scratches, some paint was chipped off. It did not appear to be bent out of shape anywhere. The holes lined up, instructions called out M10 hardware on my truck, but it was M13. Fishing the wire through the frame was difficult, longer wire might have helped.

When the hitches are shipped to us they are shipped stacked together in large pallets which means that at times they arrive in less than pristine condition. I recommend touching up the affected areas with a rust resistant paint which you will then have on hand for regular hitch maintenance.

The hitch itself is very well built and etrailer delivered it within two days. The only problem that I had was with the installation. There are two brackets on each side that attach with three bolts to the frame. The space between them is so that it clears the leaf spring bracket. If you lift the hitch straight up so that it remains parallel with the ground, it clears perfectly. The only problem is that it is very hard to do that with just two people under the truck because of its weight. It would be very easy to insert the bolts through the front holes, then swing the whole assembly up into place for the other bolts EXCEPT when you try to do that, the back bracket hits the leaf spring bracket stopping it. If both the front and back bracket were just a half inch narrower (one more inch of space between the brackets), this would be a super easy hitch to install. And as heavy duty as it is, it wouldn't affect the strength or integrity of the hitch.

The ordering process and delivery of my trailer hitch was outstanding. The only issue was with a rebate form which I could not get to print on my computer. I sent it to another computer and it would not print there either. I called and talked with your customer service and tried various methods and could not work it out. Therefore, the customer service rep. mailed a form but I haven't seen it so far.

Overall, my expectations have been met. More when I receive the rebate form.

Installation on my 2004 F-150 STX was a breeze and product works as intended. No drilling required, (if you have exhaust straight out the back it will need to be removed/lowered during install)

Had to take away 1 star due to missing parts. I read the reviews before purchasing and a couple people indicated they were missing a bolt/washer/nut combo so they only received 5/6 pieces required for install. I know these things can happen accidentally during packing so I purchased anyway. Lo and behold, item showed up with 5/6 pieces. I headed on over to the hardware store and picked up what I needed. No biggie, but If you are buying it would be safe to assume you are out another [fe dollars] to buy those missing parts on your own.

well built product, no new holes to drill but instructions say f150 with oem hitch might not fit. had to cut old oem hitch out for bolts to fit and reattach bumper to frame. this is a nice product but some information missing in description portion of this product, also if you have an exhaust other than stock you might have an issue do to the replacement hitch. came with bolts and a way to mount them almost painless. worth the money. only a few hours to hook up. sorry no pics to post

Except for a minor problem with the weight of the hitch and after getting the two rear bolts installed, the remainder of the installation went smoothly. This hitch will be an advantage if/when we upgrade to a bigger travel trailer. This was the second Draw-Tite hitch received I ordered/installed from e-Trailer and will definitely recommend your company to friends and relatives.

Purchased this receiver to replace my current one, which was after market as well. It fit just as advertised with little trouble. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because Draw-Tite shorted me a bolt, nut and washer, not a deal breaker just inconvenient to go find one. Also the paint was scraped up in multiple places that required touch up prior to install (bare steel on the underside of a truck....bad idea) A better wrapping might have prevented this. Overall happy with the receiver and I would order from etrailer again.

2005 Ford F-150

The receiver looks and feels very sturdy. Received it quick. However, the way they shipped it was just wrapping it in packing tape..so when I received it, one arm was bent 2+ inches and the whole thing was fairly beat up. It took me about 30 minutes of wailing on it with a hammer to get it back square. They also left out one nut, washer, and bolt. A quick trip to the hardware store and I was able to finish it. Overall, love the product, not so much the shipping/packing dept.

    The reason the factory trailer hitch on a 2005 Ford F-150 cannot be replaced with an aftermarket hitch like the Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 41549 is because the factory hitches tie into the factory bumper and the aftermarket hitches don't. It will physically fit but there would not be sufficient support for the factory bumper. If you replace the factory bumper with an aftermarket bumper you should then be able to use an aftermarket hitch.

    I called my contact at Draw-Tite and they told me where the issues are with installing an after market trailer hitch on a Ford truck with a factory hitch. The bumper bracket on the truck with a factory hitch is part of the hitch. You would need to remove the bumper brackets you have and replace them with stock brackets, and remove the existing hitch. This would essentially make your truck stock with no factory hitch. You would then be able to install a trailer hitch like part # 41549....

    The Draw Tite hitch part # 41549 is a fit for your 2004 Ford F-150 and only would require drilling if you have a flare side model since the vibration dampeners cannot be reinstalled. In this situation only a 7/16 inch hole would be drilled. If you don't have a flare side no drilling would be required. You will want a torque wrench too.

    We have hitches that fit your 2004 Ford F-150 like the # 41549 but the # 75506 you mentioned is not a fit for your truck. The # 41549 is a Class III like the one you referenced and has higher towing capacities at 6,000 lbs trailer weight and 600 lbs tongue weight. For a more concealed look we also have the Draw Tite # 37133 but it has slightly lower towing capacities at 5,000/500 lbs.
