Completely Hidden for a Clean, Factory Look

The EcoHitch Invisi trailer hitch is designed to be completely out of sight. The hitch cross tube bolts onto your vehicle's frame, behind the body of your vehicle. No drilling or welding is required. The receiver portion of the hitch will sit just behind the factory knockout panel in your bumper. Just pop the panel off to tow and put it back on again for a from-the-factory look when you're done using the hitch.

Eco-Friendly Material

With a combination of aerospace-grade aluminum, steel, and stainless steel, each EcoHitch is made of a strong metal alloy that will stand the test of time. The lightweight alloy is composed of recycled materials. Traditional steel hitch manufacturing can use coal or oil, which can contribute to harmful gas emissions. The EcoHitch's recycled materials limit the carbon footprint during manufacturing, so you get a sturdy trailer hitch while also helping the environment.

Rigorous Strength Testing Ensures Durability

This EcoHitch trailer hitch is tested for durability and sturdiness. Using Finite Elemental Analysis (FEA), individual points of stress on the hitch can be detected and remedied. Designers can accurately test the hitch to ensure that it will meet or exceed SAE J684 standards. The EcoHitch Invisi trailer hitch is carefully researched and strength tested for a durable, high-quality hitch that can resist damage while on the road.

Installation went well. The only problem was the right side of the hitch's mount plate. One mounting stud on the vehicle did not align with the trailer hitch mounting hole. No problem with one out of eight nuts not being installed. Just using the hitch for a bicycle rack. It was so easy that my daughter helped with a good part of the installation.

The Hitch is built very well. It was very easy to install & it works well. I highly recommend it if you need a well built heaven duty Hitch

Subaru

Your company was the only one that provided a hitch for my vehicle. I'm pleased with it ,it does the job intended,I don't haul anything.I use it for a bike rack.On my Subaru Ascent it can be hidden out of way by a cover. My son in laws garage installed it, said installation was simple.

Subaru

I had my mechanic throw it on during an oil change - easy and solid design! all the pieces came with it and fit my subaru. spend $5 and also buy the plastic bumper plug puller from etrailer if yours has a removable plate - will save your fingers and frustrations when you go to install/use your trailer hitch!

The video and part were excellent. Installation was an easy. the hard part was running the power wire to the battery.

2023 Subaru Ascent

Fantastic Video instructions for instal lation!

by:

Great product - the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was the install (and that probably wasn’t etrailer’s fault). Let me explain.
The attachment points for this hitch means that the hitch is not solely relying on the shear strength of the mountings bolts. Instead, this hitch has L-channel extensions which slide into the car’s uniframe structure, allowing a clamping force to be exerted onto the car’s frame which results (IMHO) in a much more secure attachment point. Between the tolerances of the car frame and the hitch, the fit on my hitch was very snug and I used a mallet to “persuade” the hitch to settle into its final position. After that, the installation of the mounting bolts was super easy using the provided hardware and I am very pleased with the product. Some hitch manufacturers do not even offer this mounting option because of the increased cost and complexity of manufacture. I am thankful to etrailer for a great product.

by:

Easy to install and the videos did help. Seems to be great quality but have yet to tow with it.

by:

Hitch fit perfectly. Subaru Aspen. The video gives you the courage to proceed. Frame bolt positioning springs made mounting easy. Reassembly of the body was a snap with one exception. The electrical wiring connection to the bumper needed to be remounted and secured. That required drilling two holes were into the hitch. One to secure the mount and the other to protect the wring See photos. Hopefully new hitches will be predrilled

2018 Subaru Outback Wagon

Second EcoHitch purchased from etrailer.com. The first was for a 2018 Subaru Outback and, like that one, this hitch (for a 2020 Subaru Ascent) was absolutely painless to install and works brilliantly. The kit-supplied hardware and instructions are excellent. I will absolutely buy my next hitch from etrailer.

by:

It was used equipment. Scratches everywhere, metal was bent, and paint coming off.

Oh no! I am sorry that this arrived in this condition. I can assure you that we do not sell used parts. However, it is possible that this hitch was damaged during shipping. That is quite common. Let me get you over to our customer service department for them to get in touch with you about this situation.

by:

With a heavy persuasion to spread it open to fit other than that all went fine and easy. One suggestion make your directions more ink clear

by:
2021 Subaru Ascent

eASY INSTALL, JUST LIKE THE VIDEO.

by:

Originally selected based on the receiver having a greater load rating relative to some of the other options. Installation was straight forward, all parts were included, and it has held up well over limited use over the last year.

by:

High quality, heavy duty hitch. Very easy install.

by:

Great hitch! Installed it myself. Instructions were good.

  • Parts Needed to install a Brake Controller on a 2020 Subaru Ascent
Definitely glad to hear the EcoHitch # 306-X7381 install went well. This is one of the more difficult installs, so if you were comfortable doing that, installing a brake controller like the Redarc # RED44FR should be pretty straight forward. To start this process, you will need a 4 Flat wiring harness, like the Tekonsha # 118790. This will supply the power needed for the running lights, tail lights, and blinkers. From here, you will need our Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake...

  • Comparing Curt, etrailer, and EcoHitch Trailer Hitches for a 2022 Subaru Ascent
The difference between the Curt # C25VR and etrailer # e55ZR trailer hitches for your 2022 Subaru Ascent is that the etrailer hitch has a matte black finish that is a bit more robust than the Curt. The matte black finish does a better job at matching black trim on vehicle as well as hiding scratches that might happen from road debris hitting the hitch. Attached is an installation video of the etrailer hitch on a 2021 Ascent for you to check out. The installation will be the exact same...

  • Hidden Trailer Hitch Made In USA for 2019 Subaru Ascent
The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76253 that you referenced is made overseas. For a similar trailer hitch with the same hidden design we do have the Eco-Hitch # 306-X7381, which is confirmed to fit your 2019 Subaru Ascent and is made right here in the USA. The 2 inch receiver on this model will sit behind the factory knockout panel on the bumper (see attached image) and it features a 5,000 pound towing weight capacity.

Yes, the EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver item # 306-X7381 does include the fish wire tool to complete the installation. This hitch is confirmed to fit 2019 - 2022 Subaru Ascents. I have linked an installation video below.

  • Best Trailer Hitch for 2019 Subaru Ascent for Hitch Bike Rack
Between the Draw-Tite hitch # 76253 and the EcoHitch # 306-X7381 that both fit your 2019 Subaru Ascent if it were my money I would get the Draw-Tite. Both hitches will take about the same time for installation (2+ hours) but because the Draw-Tite costs much less than the EcoHitch I would go that route. But if you prefer a USA-made hitch then the EcoHitch model is currently the only such option. And you might care to check out the two articles on hitch bike carriers that may help you in...

  • Will EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch For 2021 Subaru Ascent Compromise Integrity of Rear Impact
I believe you are asking about the hidden hitch for your 2021 Subaru Ascent, the EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7381, and it will not compromise the integrity of the rear impact on your vehicle whatsoever. So you can use the # 306-X7381 totally safely on your Ascent. The only other thing you'll need if you plan on towing with your Ascent is a 4-way, the T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56040.

The best hitch for your 2023 Subaru Ascent is going to be the EcoHitch Trailer Hitch item # 306-X7381. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Subaru with included hardware. I really like the EcoHitch because it installs behind your rear bumper cover and can be completely hidden when you are not towing. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a 5,000 lbs towing capacity, and a 750 lbs maximum tongue weight. I have linked a couple of pictures below along with an installation...

  • Trailer Wiring Recommended for 2019 Subaru Ascent to Use Curt Echo Brake Controller
We can get your 2019 Subaru Ascent set up with the exact trailer wiring you will need so you can install and use the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180. The first thing you will need is a 4-way, and the best option for that is from Tekonsha, as they make the most reliable trailer wiring harnesses and because it has the highest amp rating which means it gives you the best prevention against potential shorts. • Hitch Holes Don't Line Up on EcoHitch For 2023 Subaru Ascent

  • Is etrailer or EcoHitch Better for a 2021 Subaru Ascent
Hey Sergi, thanks for reaching out! Go with the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e55ZR. There are some subtle differences in design but really what the price difference amounts to is the EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7381 was really the first of it's kind on the market, but then other companies started coming out with their own designs like it and TorkLift/EcoHitch still thinks that their design is much more superior to everything else on the market...which it isn't. • Does The Impact Structure/Bumper Beam Need To Be Removed To Install Hitch on 2019 Subaru Ascent
Yes, both the Draw-Tite hitch part # 76253 and EcoHitch part # 306-X7381 require removal of the impact structure. Since both the Draw-Tite and EcoHitch are concealed cross tube designs the impact structure must be removed to make room for the cross member of the hitch. Curt hitch part # C13400 for the 2019 Subaru Ascent does not require removal of the impact structure because it is installed below the bumper. • Comparing EcoHitch and OEM Hitch to Curt and etrailer Hitches on 2022 Subaru Ascent
I'll start with the EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7381. The price on any EcoHitch comes from the material used in the construction of the hitch. It uses a special alloy made of recycled materials and combines aluminum, steel, and stainless steel. You are right about the OEM hitch too, a lot of times they come with a wiring harness. On some vehicles if you get it with the OEM hitch the bumper may also be different to allow for an OEM look. For your 2022 Subaru Ascent that...

  • Hidden Hitch Recommendation for 2020 Subaru Ascent
For your 2020 Subaru Ascent the hitch I recommend is the EcoHitch part # 306-X7381 as it's only aftermarket options that installs behind the rear bumper panel to give you a totally hidden look when you aren't towing as you can cover it up. This also doesn't affect ground clearance like other options would as well since it doesn't hang below the rear bumper.

For your 2023 Subaru Ascent I highly recommend the EcoHitch # 306-X7381 which has the 2" opening you need for your bike rack. This hitch sits right at the edge of the bumper so you'll have no issues with the rack contacting your vehicle at all. By far my favorite part about this hitch is that it sits behind a removable panel of your bumper, so when you're not carrying your bikes you can reinstall the panel and you won't see any part of the hitch.
