Hidden Cross Tube for a Clean, Factory Look

The EcoHitch Hidden trailer hitch is designed to be as inconspicuous as possible. The hitch's cross tube bolts onto your vehicle's frame, behind your rear bumper. No drilling or welding is required. Once the hitch is installed, only the receiver will be visible beneath your bumper. This means that your vehicle can maintain its stylish, from-the-factory look, and you won't have to do any major modifications to its body or frame.

Eco-Friendly Material

With a combination of aerospace-grade aluminum, steel, and stainless steel, each EcoHitch is made of a strong metal alloy that will withstand the test of time. The lightweight alloy is composed of recycled materials. Traditional steel hitch manufacturing can use coal or oil, which can contribute to harmful gas emissions. The EcoHitch's recycled materials limit the carbon footprint during manufacturing, so you get a sturdy trailer hitch while also helping the environment.

Rigorous Strength Testing Ensures Durability

This EcoHitch trailer hitch is tested for durability and sturdiness. Using Finite Elemental Analysis (FEA), individual points of stress on the hitch can be detected and remedied. Designers can accurately test the hitch to ensure that it will meet or exceed SAE J684 standards. The EcoHitch Hidden trailer hitch is carefully researched and strength tested for a durable, high-quality hitch that can resist damage while on the road.

Just finished installing my hitch receiver. I did it alone and I'm a fairly handy guy but it still took me about 5-6 hours. It would have gone much faster with a helper.

Everything arrived as ordered but the ziplock containing the nuts/bolts exploded en route and were scattered throughout the box, time for bigger bags I think.

I struggled with the bolt fisher. If you wind it too far on the bolt it's impossible to remove it as it just gets tighter when trying to back it off. I ended up pulling it straight off the first bolt I fished and although the coil was stretched out it actually worked better and I could just pull it off after the other 3 bolts were pulled.

I was a bit reluctant to cut the metal section of the bumper but a thin metal cutting wheel on the angle grinder made it super easy.

The instructions are a bit difficult to read as the images are very low rez and black & white. But if you read the same instruction about 4 or 5 times it eventually makes sense.

Overall it's a great product. Looks good on my 2014 Audi Allroad.

Hitch showed up bent looks like the box had been dropped. You could see where the hitch had punctured the box. Definitely the worst packaging I've seen. I didn't realize it was bent until I was ready to install it and none of the bolt holes lined up.

It sounds like your hitch was bent in shipping. The good news is that we have an article that has a few different ways to correct the hitch. I attached a link below.

If you have an Audi allroad and need a 2” receiver for a bike rack and don’t want to detract from the look of your car, look no further. The installation was a bit intimidating but the folks at etrailer provided awesome support and instructions that were spot on. Take your time, follow each step exactly and most people with some good tools can do this. Two tips: have some padded blankets ready to put the bumper/ painted body panels on as you’ll be removing these temporarily. This will keep them safe from concrete garage floors. Second, use a good quality cutting wheel to trim the area around the hitch. Don’t be afraid! It looks awesome!!

Hitch was of excellent quality and well packaged. Instructions were mostly clear. This hitch is fairly involved to install and you will need a set of star bits and a deep 10mm socket. A couple of points I would add to the instructions (that I wish I would have known ahead of time for 2014 Audi allroad)

When removing the bumper, there are two plastic pins that should be removed just above the top screw in the wheel wells. If you pull pack the wheel well lining after removing the 3 screws, you will see the plastic pins.

I had to remove an extra piece of plastic inside the trunk to get to the bolts under the tie downs. This plastic trim piece had to be moved before the rails could be rotated per the instructions.

The bumper nut to be removed from inside the trunk requires a 10mm deep well socket.

The rear tail lights require quite a bit of force to remove. The forward most portion of the lights "snap" into the body with two rubber grommets. I ended up using a plastic trim removal kit to help free the tail lights.

This has been on for a year and has worked great. If I had know how much work it was to install I would have paid the extra $$ and had it done by someone else. I’ve (with the boyfriends help) installed hitches on trucks and vans and it was much easier.

2013 Audi Allroad

Mine arrived heavily bent out of shape, but the certified local installer was able to fix it based on communicating with the manufacturer. Otherwise, the rack is nearly flawless. I just wish it had a greater load capacity.

  • Installing the EcoHitch Hidden Hitch onto the 2013 Audi Allroad
There is quite a bit involved in the installation of the EcoHitch Hidden Hitch, part # 306-X7324. There is no drilling involved, though you will need to trim the underbody and of the vehicle during the installation process. In total, you'll remove the tail light assembly panels, the bumper and the exhaust carrier when installing this hitch. I strongly recommend getting assistance with this install because of the number of individual techniques and steps involved in installing it.

  • Maximum Tongue Weight Capacity Of EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver On 2013 Audi Allroad
The EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7324 you referenced has a maximum tongue weight rating of 300lbs which is the downward force on the trailer hitch receiver. You are correct that the 300lb rating is going to be the maximum weight that your bike rack plus bikes can weigh. You will also need to check your vehicle's owners manual to make sure your vehicle can support that much tongue weight, as you will be limited to the lower of the two ratings between your vehicle and trailer...

According to the folks at EcoHitch, the installation for their # 306-X7324 is fairly involved. It would require temporary removal of the rear bumper cover as well as trimming the fascia and heat shields under the vehicle. • How Heavy of a Trailer Can Be Pulled with the EcoHitch for a 2015 Audi Allroad
The EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 306-X7324 which is a fit for a 2015 Audi Allroad is rated for 300 lbs of tongue weight which is the downward force on the receiver tube and 2,000 lbs gross trailer weight which is how much the trailer hitch can pull. I cannot recommend that you exceed any of these figures. The total loaded weight of the trailer cannot exceed the gross trailer weight of the hitch or vehicle, whichever is lower. Therefore you will need to adjust the weight...

  • Hitch and Ball Mount Solution for 2012 Audi A4 for 8-1/2 inch Rise
The issue with Class I hitches like the Curt you have installed on your 2012 Audi A4 is that you can only use the recommended ball mount since it's a lower capacity hitch. Since you have a Curt hitch that's Class I you'd have to use the # C45521 which only has a rise of 2-5/8 inches. There's a 2 inch hitch that fits your 2012 Audi A4 with the EcoHitch part # 306-X7324 which would allow you to use a ball mount with a rise close to what you need like with the # AMSC10 which has an 8-3/4...
