Today we're going to take a look at the K-Source Custom Electric Driver's Side Extendable Towing Mirror. Now, this is a custom-fit part. It is designed to fit the 1999-2000 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 trucks with the non-heated power mirror. This is an extendable towing mirror which will replace the factory side view mirror on your vehicle. With this mirror there's no need for any of the snap-on or strap-on mirrors that you constantly have to put on and take off. This mirror has a telescoping function, which will make it easy to see around the side of your trailer so that you can safely change lanes, pass, and park. Basically, you just pull the mirror away from your vehicle, just like that.
That extends your line of sight about 3 1/2 inches. Then, when you're done towing, all you have to do is push it all the way in into place when you're not towing. Now, the main mirror right here, it does have power adjustment. The spotter mirror, the smaller one at the bottom, does adjust manually. You have to use your hand to adjust it. Also, the built-in spotter mirror is nice, because it does help reduce any blind spots. This mirror does have a hinge design, which allows you to fold the mirror up against the vehicle for parking or for fitting into tight spaces.
This is made of a durable plastic housing with a nice, textured black finish. As I mentioned, it is a custom design, so it provides a nice, perfect, secure fit for your vehicle. It is a simple, no-drill installation. If you see right here, it has the same footprint and mounting points as the factory mirror's. It does even come with the new foam gasket when you install it. If you'll notice, the plug here uses the factory connection for the electric function of the mirror.
Now, this part is for the driver's side mirror only. I'm going to give you a few measurements on this. We're going to measure the dual mirror face right here. We're going to measure the width of it and then the overall height, including the spotter mirror. The width is 7 1/2 inches and the height from the bottom to the top, including the spotter mirror, is 11 inches tall. Now, it is in the retracted position.
That means it's fully pushed in. The retracted length from here to here is going to be 18 inches. Again, when we pull it out those 3 1/2 inches, your extended length from here to here is going to be 21 1/2 inches.
