It's important to make sure that your spare tire is properly inflated in the event that you need to use it, but it can be a real pain to access the spare when it's stored in your trunk. The Wheel Masters spare tire inflation kit takes the hassle out of checking air pressure and inflating your trunk-mounted spare tire.
A 36" long rubber hose lets you move the valve stem location of the spare tire to an easy-to-access spot on the wall of your trunk. This means no more emptying your trunk or reaching for the valve stem on your spare.

Today we'll be reviewing the Wheel Masters Spare Tire Inflation Kit for the Trunk Mount with the Rubber Hose part number WM82286-R. The Wheel Masters Spare Tire Inflation Kit comes with a 36" rubber hose that let's you conveniently inflate and check the pressure on your spare tire without removing everything from the trunk of your vehicle. To accomplish this it allows you to connect the 36" hose to the original valve stem on your spare tire and 00:00:28 a remote location it allows you easy access for checking the pressure in your spare tire. The kit comes with an elbow that will be screwed onto the original valve stem on your spare tire. This will allow for the spare tire cover to be set back in place and not damage the hose or the valve stem. Next the end of the rubber hose threads onto the end of elbow and you will route the rubber hose to a convenient location in the trunk of your vehicle. On this particular application we found an area just behind the rear tail light that seems to work pretty well that's out of the way. A small L bracket also comes to mount the other end of the air hose. To do this you can either use a sheet metal screw or the bolt with the lock washer and nut.
Depending on your application, will depend on what sort of mounting style you will use. To mount the rubber hose to the bracket you will push the hose up through the hole in the bracket and put the nut down onto the threads, tightening it down to secure the hose to the bracket. The kit also comes with a new cap that you will install on top of the end of the rubber hose. When the need arises to use your spare tire you will just unthread the elbow off of the original valve stem on your tire and put the cap back on it. This spare tire inflator kit makes checking those hard to get at tires that hide under the vehicle very easy. Some spare tires now have TPMS on them so being able to check your pressures prevents that message of a low tire. The kit was very easy to install, and I just attached it to one of my license plate mounting screws.
This is the third one I have bought as they work really well on any vehicle. I have also spread the news to my friends who also have purchased them.
I was wondering about something like this and when I Googled it this was one of the items that came up. Once I was able to determine how it worked, I decided to order.
I was able to install this in the trunk of my Honda CRV with no trouble. I just left the hose wrapped up in the wheel well under the back carpet as I don't carry a lot in there anyway. Now when my Low Tire emblem comes up on my screen, I won't have to haul out the tire to get to the tube where you put the air in.
The guy that mows for me was so impressed, he swore he was going to order one as well.

Just what I was looking for....and it’s made in the good old USA! Something of this nature needs to be a quality item that will not leak air. After reading the reviews, I felt confident that this was the one to buy. I’ve only had mine installed for a couple of days now, but so far, it appears to be air tight. It’s mounted on a GX460, with the bracket located on the right side of the trailer hitch utilizing an existing hole. Sure beats having to crawl underneath the beast to check (or add to) the spare tire’s air!

Update: After using this for a year now, I can say that it’s rock solid with no air leaks. I actually have one installed on two different vehicles. Very pleased would highly recommend.
I have struggled for years wrestling with difficult to access spare tires in trunk wells and underneath vehicles. It was easy to put off checking spare tire pressure because it was such a pain. The Tire Inflation Kit extension hoses make life so much easier and now I check the spare tires on my vehicles much more often. Thank you for a great product!
These tire valve extenders are great and the kits come equipped for a complete installation. I have installed them of all of my cars and my kids cars. They are so good that I actually now check the air is my spare tires more that twice a year. I check it every week of so when I check the rest of the tires. Installation include a Subaru, Matrix, Ford Expedition, Ford F-150 pick up, and the Toyota.
The spare tire in my wife's Subaru sits with the valve facing down. Before getting this, we had to take everything out of the back and completely remove the tire to check the pressure and top it up. Now it's quick and hassle free. After a year we've had no issues with leaks. I couldn't recommend it more.
I'm using the Valve Stem Extender for its intended purpose, to be able to check the spare inflation without emptying the back of the hatch to reach the spare. What made this a must have is the fact that the hold down mounts the spare valve stem side down in the tire well. After finding a spare flat at one time (didn't need it but noticed it) I realized that having a flat spare is about as useless as it gets.
When installing the flex hose to the 90 degree adapter, I noticed that the "nut" portion of the hose seemed a little tight on the swivel, but a drop of lube and a little working back and forth and it spun on just fine.
I highly recommend this product if you have a spare that's really buried like mine.

The extender is still in place, making life just a little easier.
While I'm sure this remote air hose for a spare tire would work great for it's intended purpose, I use it in a different way for which it also works great.
The pressure tank for my well pump is located in the crawl space below my utility room so I wanted some way to be able to monitor the pressure on the tank without going into the crawl space (a real pita!). I connected this hose to the tank and ran the other end up through a small hole into the utility room even using the included mount to secure it to the floor. Now I can check (or even change) the pressure in the tank any time without a lot of fuss.
I really should get a couple for the spare tires on my two trucks.....
This was my third extension hose. The first two were cheeper but they both leaked air. Not what you want. This one does the job. Great product.

BECAUSE MOST CARS HAVE A SPARE TIRE MOUNTED IN THE TRUNK WITH THE VALVE STEM FACING INBOARD, SERVICING THE SPARE MUST BE DONE BY REMOVING IT.
THE TRUNK SPARE TIRE INFLATOR KIT MAKES IT EASY TO SERVICE SPARE TIRE PROPER PRESSURE.
NO MORE REMOVING THE TRUNK FLOOR AND SPARE TIRE. THE KIT MOUNTING HAREWARE ALLOWS YOU TO MOUNT A VALVE STEM IN THE INTERIOR OF THE TRUNK.
pricey, but high quality construction.
Subaru secures the spare with the tire valve stem facing the bottom, puts a tray with the jack on top of the spare, put another tray with tools etc. on top of the jack tray and finally puts the main cargo area deck over that. No wonder nobody checks the spare tire pressure. With the Wheel Master extension kit, I can check the spare tire inflation just by lifting a small hatch in the cargo area. 30 seconds versus 10 minutes to disassemble and reassemble everything - no brainer.
I've used this product on other cars in the past with good results. Specifically, a 2001 Audi A4, 1999 Audi A4, 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX, and 2007 Volvo S60R. This time I purchased it for the compact spare in my 2015 Audi A3. Unfortunately it doesn't work well with this car. The end of the valve on the spare is right up against the trunk floor with no room to fit the rubber hose or the 90º adapter. I would have to retrofit some other sort of valve to the wheel or build something padded to create a bit of space which would then make the carpeted floor uneven and not sit right. The design of the wheel securing mechanism doesn't allow the wheel to be flipped over to be valve side up. This is a good product but not compatible in my particular case this time. I will repurchase though for any future cars with compatible spare wheel configurations.
I have added this spare tire inflation kit to my 2017 Expedition to eliminate crawling under the car to check the pressure. The whole kit is first class. Doing business with etrailer.com has been a nice experience. They are first class too.
I ordered two of the spare tire hose kits for adding 3 ft to two tractor tire inner tubes to float a pontoon lift into a lake in northern Michigan. I called Etrailer and spoke with Noah, I told him what I needed and he placed my order and shipped them that same day. The hose kits arrived in time and they worked like a champ. Great job Etrailer!!!
Great product for checking hidden spare tire, and filling air into it without dropping the spare tire down from underneath my Highlander. The length of 3 feet is more than enough to mount the refill nipple on my trailer hitch. Really easy to install. Enough hardware supplied. I used a plier to make sure the connectors were secure enough so the air will not leak (just a couple of turns).
Exactly what I needed to keep a better eye on the tire pressure of the spare. Will save lots of time and grief without having to almost completely disassemble the trunk in order to get to the spare.
Easy quick and simple installation with the hardest part being to figure out how to best route the hose and mount the bracket.
