These Titan Chain diamond-pattern chains are great winter weather chains. If you live in an area where you're likely to get periodic snow and ice, these chains are perfect because they're durable and easy to mount. And they're lightweight and compact, so they store in your vehicle nicely too.
These chains are among the easiest and fastest to install because they have built-in tensioners that you can just pull taut to adjust the fit. These tensioners allow the chains to fit your tires, no matter the profile or wear pattern. And because the tensioners are built-in, you never have to worry about losing them like you might with other chains on the market.
SAE Class S tire chains are designed for use on passenger vehicles with restricted wheel-well clearance. Most newer cars, vans, and small trucks - especially those with large aftermarket tires - will require Class S chains. If you're unsure about the class of your vehicle, consult your vehicle's user manual.
These chains will fit your tires provided there is both:
If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer. You'll also need to know how much clearance is in your wheel well, which you can determine by measuring from your tire tread to the sidewall of the wheel well.
We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.
You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.
Installing these chains is incredibly simple.
1. Lay out the chains on the ground to make sure there are no twists or kinks.
2. Spread the chain around the back of the tire.
3. Connect the ends of the cable, which will sit behind the tire.
4. Around front, connect the 2 ends of the yellow side chain using the green hook at the top of the tire.
5. At the bottom of the tire, feed the silver tensioning chain through the red channel bracket and pull it taut. Then run the tensioner through as many red clips along the side chain as you can, leaving room to still be able to stretch the hook across the tire.
6. Attach the hook to the side chain directly across from the last clip you ran the tensioner through. The hook should face away from your tire. Pull your vehicle forward 2-3 vehicle lengths and recheck the tension.
How to Choose Snow Chains for Your Vehicle
To choose the right snow chain, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire, as shown below.

They fit well, the price was very competitive and arrived quickly. I had to deliver some material to a mountain location and needed to go down a couple of steep inclines. I put chains on all four tires of my truck and one axle on the trailer. I didn't have any slipping or sliding on an icy snow-packed road.
They seem like good chains, but they don't seem to fit my 2021 Toyota Sienna AWD tires like it said they should (235/65/17). The tensioner chain is too short for me to pull tension on adjacent yellow chains and I am worried this will negatively impact the chains stability on my tires. I can barely get the rubber tensioner through the first red ring after pulling and readjusting several times. This is my first time using snow tire chains... Would someone with experience be able to let me know if this is OK or if I should buy some different chains?

I wanted to let you know that I had also reached out to the manufacturer about the tire chains. They advised that the installation looked good to them and the way the chain set up is fine. If you have to use them then it is possible, they will loosen up with use.
Well, this is a one year review which is my preferred time to rate a product. The Titan chains worked very well. They are easy to get on and off the tires and provide excellent traction on our New Hampshire back roads. We are quite pleased and so give an excellent rating on the chains.
Used only once last season. They were easy to install in the snow. When we tried to take them off, one strap got caught on the backside of the wheel hub. If we hadn't had a flyswatter with us, we wouldn't have been able to drive the car.
WOW! So easy to install; quickly! Video instructions were spot on! Love the carrying case as well.
Excellent products and excellent service. When I buy something from trailer, I know I’m getting a quality product at a good price!
I have to say, I’m blown away with these Titan Snow Chains! Planned a trip to Colorado and Montana in a week and wanted to be prepared. Just so happen, we got 11” of snow here in Kansas City Missouri before I left and just had to try them out! Our road is a dirt road not maintained by the state or county so was a little worried I would not be able to get out. I put these on and it went through the snow, ice and slush like I had a 4x4!!! Perfect! (Note: before putting these on I tried to get out of just my driveway and it was a no go!!)
Oh, these were installed on my 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan non-AWD with brand new All Season tires.
The chains also fit perfectly and had little to no issues installing. First one took about 10 minutes, I have never put chains on before and second one took two minutes tops!
Would definitely recommend both etrailer and this product! 5 Stars!
high quality chains. as easy to install and remove as they get.

Still working great. Robust and reliable.
Appears exactly the same as much more expensive tire chains. Has a durable carry case which will make it easy to store in the trunk during winter time. I have used similar tires chains on my other vehicles and you could climb a snowy mountain in these things. I work at the hospital and there is no such thing as snow days. Tire chains let me sleep at home instead of the hotel across the street from the hospital.

They work great. Zero worry about getting to work in the snow.
I ordered these on Monday and they arrived Wednesday. The chains have individual pouches inside the storage case so they were not tangled at all. They laid out quickly. My car is a caprice wagon with partial skirts, so I was concerned about installation. It definitely was harder than what is shown in the vids, but really not bad considering. Looks like I'll have enough clearance that they will not hit the skirts. I should now be ready for the mountain passes on my upcoming trip.
I've owned Subaru cars for a number of years and frequently drive in snowy and icy conditions, in eastern Washington and across mountain passes. I have snow tires, but that is sometimes not enough. The sales and service people give you the same line: "you can't chain up a Subaru, and you don't need to!" Uh-huh. The State Patrol is unimpressed with Subaru's marketing. Not carrying chains across a Cascade mountain pass will get you a $500 ticket! Nervous over the conundrum, I searched for several years for an answer. Then I found etrailer, with an easy to use website, and assurances that it could sell me a set of chains to fit my 2021 Crosstrek. They were quickly delivered, with superb and responsive customer service. The problem with chaining up a Subaru is the tight clearance in the wheel-well. The suspension assembly is at best an inch from the tire. But the chains I ordered are snug and just make the clearance (the Subaru manual says "don't use chains, but if you have to, just chain up the front tires"). The chains are pretty thin, so you don't want to stress them too much (dry asphalt, high speed or long distance), but they will do the trick for an icy mountain pass - and keep Smokey (WSP) happy! Problem solved!
WARNING! THESE ARE NOT STRONG, NOR DURABLE! NOT GOOD FOR DEEP OR WET SNOW. I PUT LESS THAN TEN MILES ON THEM AND THEY ARE SHREDDED. BENT LINKAGES RELEASED CHAINS ON BOTH SIDES. THE PLASTIC SPACERS THAT SEPARATE THE CROSS CHAINS ARE WEAK AND FRAY AND SHRED EASILY. VERY GLAD TO HAVE NOT GOT THEM STUCK AROUND MY AXLES OR BUST MY BRAKE LINES FROM FLYING CHAINS.
THE ONLY REASON TO BUY THESE IS FOR THE WHEEL CLEARANCE. AND IF YOU DO BUY THESE, THEY ARE ONLY GOOD FOR PACKED ICE AND MAYBE 2-4 INCHES OF LIGHT POWDERY SNOW. THESE WERE FITTED ON A FORD TRANSIT 150 CARGO VAN V6
These tire chains were very simple and easy to put on. Got a chance to use them through the mountains of Colorado and they did a tremendous job. We drive a front wheel drive minivan, and this gave us so much more confidence in the snow. The only issue we’ve had is the rubber tightener broke during use so I had to makeshift/fix it on the fly. Did not have the same tension, but didn’t come loose. They make replacement parts for this, and it would have been good to have a spare or two on hand just in case. Like the simple case and install/removal of this chain set. Would purchase again for my next vehicle.
I ‘m happy to say I haven’t had any case where I needed to use these chains. How ever I did put them on to make sure I could and it was not hard to do.
Extremely hard to install on a Subaru outback because of the room between the tire and the top of the tire housing

The chains are very hard to impossible to install in the Subaru Outback. There is no room above the wheel for the installation.
Broke second time I was putting them on. The tension chain snapped, beware these are fragile. 2021 Crosstrek.

Only the second time that they were used? That is not great. Would you be able to send a picture? Were you driving on snow or ice?
easy to install and great packaging
Chains go on just like the video shows . It took me 15 minutes the first time in the snow at 4:45 in the afternoon as it was getting dark.
I left them on for 4 days while hunting and went places with the front wheel drive minivan that my 4 wheel drive Dodge wouldn't have made it up or down without chains.
I put 30 miles on these chains on snow/ice and 5 miles on bare sanded/cindered pavement and there are no visible signs of wearing of the metal except for some light surface rust after taking them off and drying. It cannot hurt to rinse them in water, dry them and spray them with a light oil like WD-40 and then ziplock bag them before putting them in their carry case.
My van is a 2017 and I was looking at snow tires. 2 tires with wheels and sensors was in excess of $500 online .
$75 for a set of chains to use instead of snow tires a couple times a year is A OK with me.

Still work great! Got 100 miles on them of which 15-20 is on pavement at 20mph and the rest on snowy iced unpaved but plowed roads and unplowed frozen rutted Seasonal Limited Use road . Traction is phenomenal. NO noticeable wear. I may buy a 2-wheel drive dually pickup with electric locker and just get chains for it.
I never use these they appear to be made of good quality and comparable to any of the German ones I've seen I ended up giving it to the neighbor who also has a Subaru
Fit perfectly and great customer servic e!
After checking your website again, was disappointed to find you have lowered the price (about $3) in the last few days from the price I paid. Delivered as scheduled. Have tried them on - When looping thru red rings to tighten, essentially no room to stretch across wheel, so barely hook second link after second ring. skipping second ring makes no difference. 10 minutes to install first one. Second one only took 5-6 minutes. Both times are plus vehicle movement to tighten as instructed. Have bought them as 'insurance' for ski trip to Colorado and hope they stay in carrying case! Not sure why your website says they don't fit 2017 Subaru Outback, as mine has 225/65R17 tires and website shows it fits that tire size. Title sheet on case does not include that tire size. I had found another website where a Subaru expert recommended this TC1555 as one of the few chain fitting my car due to the very limited space between car and tire. Have added pliers, gloves, zip ties, knee pad and plastic bags (so I don't get wet kneeling in snow) to carrying case.

Mark, I have forwarded your pricing concerns to our Price Pledge department for review. On pages 8-12 of the online owners manual for the 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon, the manual indicates that tire chains are not recommended due to limited clearance within the wheel wells. Also, the manual further states that if traction devices are used, they must be the S-Class type, which are low-profile in design and more compatible with passenger vehicles that have limited wheel well clearance. Subaru says chains can be used on the front tires only. If you are looking just to meet a legal requirement and you do not expect to use the chains much, if at all then the Titan # TC1555 will work for you based upon your tire size.

Although I have been in the snow, didnt have to use them. Car was totalled in a hail storm and new car has slightly larger tires. Have not tested to see if they will fit.
They were just what I needed. I pull a small wheel trailer fish house on a lake with my Subaru Outback. There are times I'm in unplowed areas. It has its limitations but I rarely need more than one set of chains to get me to where I want to go.
I placed an order but I didn't notice that I was off one digit on the delivery address(mother in law's house). The order shipped the same day! The etrailer staff was great about trying to correct my mistake with UPS. The package arrived earlier than estimated and I couldn't be happier! The tire chains are what I expected and I hope to never need them!

I almost needed to use them after an overnight storm. Still havent used them, but they went on easily during practice installations in my driveway!
GeorgeJ buddy! You follow up with me via email after a year to ask how my chains are doing? That's the kind of friend everyone deserves. Thank you for asking. The chains are great, man. I hope your chains are good, too. Peace and happy holidays.
Excellent service. At beginning, I had hard time to follow the manual to install the chains, since it was too short. Even after watching the Video for how to install the chain.
However, after called their 1-800 number and talked to Ed. He explained that 99% of the reason why the chain installed as short is some section of chain got tangled.
And he is right! I followed the manual again, and this time, before installing the chain, I check and un-tangle every section of the chain, and then it worked as it should.
So thanks for Ed's help. And I just have to try these chains for my next trip.

Ive these chains multiple times. They are easy to install, work very well and perform as expected. I would definitely recommend them for similar applications.
