Today on our 2016 Hyundai Sonata we'll be taking a look at the Rhino Rack Vortex Arrow Roof Rack System. The part numbers for our cross bars are going to be RRVA126B-2, for our Rhino Rack 2500 Series legs we're using RRRLKVA, and for our custom DK Fit Kit for our Sonata, we're using DK455. The Rhino Rack Vortex Arrow CrossBars are aerodynamic crossbars that help reduce wind noise and drag and are going to allow you to carry cargo boxes, bike racks, kyak saddles, ski carriers, and other accessories on your vehicle's roof. By putting these accessories on your roof it will give you more room inside your car and more room in the back. The weatherstripping is easy to remove and can be cut so you can add channel-mounted accessories, but also have that weatherstripping there to still help reduce that wind noise and drag. This roof rack system also works with clamp-on accessories as well. These crossbars are 49" long, though we do have multiple lengths available. Just make sure that they don't extend out past your vehicle's sideview mirrors. The Rhino Rack crossbars have a 165 pound weight capacity, but you do want to check your vehicle's owner manual to make sure it can withstand that much weight. The insulation for this crossbar kit is simple.
We'll show you how to do that now. Now here we have everything that comes in our kit. It's all laid out on our table. We have our fit kit here with our clamp and our rubber padding for the bottom of our foot pack. We have our end cap for our crossbar. We've got our leg that's going to attach to our crossbar with our lock in covers.
The keys that will lock that up. Our included tightening tool. This will be a torque allen key. We have our key that's going to lock our end caps onto our crossbars. Then we have, that we've provided ourselves, a flat tape measure. I would suggest that you grab one of these or any kind of measuring tape that you can find. Then, of course, we have our crossbar here.
We already have one of our foot packs already assembled with our clamp and everything on and that end cap. We're going to show you how to put together our last one. To start off, we're going to remove this bolt here. We're going to grab the clamp from our fit kit and place that over and then just replace our bolt. We want this bolt tight enough that it holds the clamp in place, but we don't want it too tight. We'll need it loose to tighten it onto our roof. Next we'll flip our foot pack over.
I like to just pop off this bottom. Grab the rubber portion of our fit kit and we're going to push these two pieces together making sure that the arrows on each side are facing the same way. You can squeeze that together so that it completely closes and there aren't any holes left. We want to make sure that the arrows are facing towards the outside of our foot pack. That just slides right off. Then we'll take this nut on the bottom and we're going to slide it right into this channel here. Now we'll measure this inside strip. They usually come with plastic pieces that you can measure out and cut to insert here and then you can insert them on the outside of your foot pack as well. That's going to help reduce the wind noise and drag. But for this situation we're just going to use that flat tape measure. We're going to measure 18-1/2cm from the beginning of this edge to the beginning of our foot pack. We'll take our included torque tool and we're going to tighten down this bolt here. This is going to tighten our foot pack in place so it doesn't move along our crossbar. Double-check that measurement. Now, I like to take the endcap of my crossbar, I'll place that on so that the notch is towards the top and take the key and we'll just lock that up. Now we'll take our crossbar and we want to set it over on the other side. Make sure the clamps are sitting around the door frame and that they don't get caught anywhere else. We'll adjust this other side here. Now we'll grab our measuring tape and we'll measure our crossbar spread. For our crossbar spread we want to measure from the center of our front clamp to the center of our back and that's going to be 60cm. All right. We'll go and measure the other side. Now we'll take our included torque tool and we'll start to tighten these down. I like to set my clamp so it's up against our door jamb. We're just going to tighten down our bolt. That's just tight enough so that our clamp won't loosen. We're going to tighten the other side. Now we'll go back and forth to each side doing about five to 10 turns. You'll notice when we're turning that torque tool straightens out right here, that's when you know you have enough torque behind our bolt and now it's completely tight. We'll make sure that the other side is the same way. We'll take our locking endcaps, place them on and lock them into place. That's going to help prevent theft and tampering of your crossbars. The crossbar endcaps are going to help prevent theft and tampering of any channel mounted accessories. Now that we have those locked up we're ready to install any of our accessories and hit the road. That's going to be our completed look at the Rhino Rack Vortex Arrow Roof Rack for our 2016 Hyundai Sonata.

Thanks to etrailer, I am ready to do some serious summer exploring with my 2013 Mazda 3! Rhino Racks, Malone top box, and Kuat bike rack!
The rack fit well and was easy to install. Seems to be made well. The problem is the amount of road noise. I never even put the basket on. It was so loud, it roared. I repositioned it several times but the noise was way too much and I finally just removed it. I spent a lot of money for the rack and the basket and now they are in storage. I wish it would have worked out better because I thought it looked really good.
love it, no problem and easy to install and take on and off, 47,000 miles on the highway and not a single issue. I even like the song the ladder hums to me driving down the interstate. This is my second Rhino and both have preformed to a high standard.
I love it works amazing on my 2017 Hyundai sonata sport 2.0T
Ordered a Rhino Rack for my 2014 GMC Sierra 2500HD Denali. Rack arrived in very good shape and all items were there. Installing at this time and see no problems ahead.

Good quality and locks are included. The plastic lock covers are flimsy but they will keep an honest person honest.
Arrived quick. Looked overwhelming at first but the instructions were easy to follow
Things went well. Customer service was great.

Product seems very durable, sturdy an rugged, Shipping wasn't bad took about a week to get. However looks like one of my rails was returned an then shipped back to me, the box had someone else's name but scratched out and spray painted, an some of the measurement pieces in the inside where already cut in half. I took the one from the other rail and made it work. Would be a 5 star if that didn't happen. However I would recommend the product overall seems pretty well. This is my first rack I've loaded one box on it and it held it down.
I ordered a roof rack for my 15' sonata. Upon receiving the parts I recognized a few of the parts were for a Honda. At first customer service was a bit hard to get a hold of, I would call and be on hold for quite a while. Finally one day I stayed on hold and it was 25 minutes until I was able to talk t a representative. After talking to a rep, she told me to send pics via email and I did. The next day I saw I had not received a reply so I called early on in the morning, surprisingly I got through really quick and i was put on the phone with Laser who by the way rocked. He knew exactly what to do, how to do it and made it all so simple. He alone completely changed my mind about etrailer. If you ever have to contact customer support be patient because you will be waiting and hope you talk with Laser. None the less i received my new parts within 3 days. I give them a thumbs up.
This kit is easy to slap on and sturdy enough to balance my skis and snowboards. I recently used the Rhino Rack on a three hour drive to a ski resort and had no issues.
This is my second Rhino-Rack. They go on very easily and hold the bikes/kayaks and even an extension ladder very well....thanks for a great product
This rack works perfectly on my Nissan Versa for carrying my two Perception Sound 9'6" kayaks. The Rhino-Racks look good to me. The kayaks can rest directly on the rubber pads on the rails, unlike the Yakama racks I had in the past that had bare pipe rails. Also, I expect I can buy parts to adapt this product to a different car without having to buy new towers. I am sorry there are not hooks or loops to attach bungees when carrying lumber. They are noisy in the wind, but less so when carrying the kayaks.
I love my rhino racks they been very useful and they are still in great shape
Two items I received surprised me when I unpacked the box were the rails because they were not black like I saw in the picture, and the rubber insert that I am having a hard time sliding in the rail. Should this rubber insert have come already installed in the rail or is there a top on how to put in with ease?
Customer service was excellent. They guided me to get exactly what I needed. Rhino rack is quiet and sturdy. Just be sure to install the measuring strips underneath and the strips on top!
Fast service and was everything I expec ted
This is an excellent product. It was the only product that would fit my truck. I was able to mount it by myself, it took me longer than I thought it would, but it helps if you watch first a video on line about how to put it together. The support staff is excellent if you miss any parts. I highly recommend it for the 2015 Nissan Rogue.

Well engineered rack that fits my Ram 2500 crew cab well. A bit of wind noise at highway speeds. I have the heavy duty cross pieces with a square cross section.
Great product everything fit perfectly. With the heavy duty bars almost all the hardware for anything you put on the rack is too short
