Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.
This ratchet features Back Off Technology that lets you safely back the tension off step-by-step. This helps prevent sudden movement when removing the strap. Simply put the lever into the additional Back Off position and ratchet in reverse to release the tension.

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the ProGrip ratchet tie down strap. Now this tie down strap lets you easily secure cargo in your truck bed or trailer. The ratcheting mechanism makes it very easy to tighten down the strap, and it maintains tension on the strap. All you need to do is hook both sides to your truck bed or trailer, pull the slack out of the strap, and then use the ratchet to apply tension and tighten the strap over your gear. The main thing that sets this ratchet apart from others is it features a technology called Back Off technology. When you release the tension on a standard ratchet strap, they have a tendency to pop and release all the tension at once. This mechanism gives you the ability to release tension just like standard straps, if you want, as well as to release tension gradually or click by click using the handle to do so.
I'm going to place this here on the edge of the table. I'm going to go ahead and tighten the strap down. We got it pretty tight. Now this ratcheting mechanism has a locked position. This is the position you'd want it in during transport.
Then you have the center position, which is your ratcheting position. Then you have the fully open position, which would allow you to release tension like a normal ratchet strap and allow you to remove the strap from the ratcheting mechanism. Then you have this position here. This is a little slot. There's four different positions. The slot I'm going to show you allows you to use the handle to release tension.
You can't really hear it or see it, but what we just did is we released tension step by step or click by click. It's a lot safer. You don't have to worry about it popping. You don't have to worry about all the tension being released at once. It's a very easy way to release tension or loosen the strap when you're getting ready to unload your gear. The ratcheting mechanism has a really nice large handle, offers an easy grip design.
We have finger indentions there. It's easy to use even if you have gloves on because of the large design. Then you have the really nice release lever there that's easy to access also. The strap itself is made from durable polyester webbing. It's yellow in color so it's bright and highly visible. The hooks are double j-hooks. They're welded together. That's going to add to the strength and durability of the connection points. Those are made from steel and they feature a really nice corrosion-resistant plating to keep them safe from rust. Now the strap itself measures 2" wide by 40' long. The safe working load limit is 3,333 pounds. The maximum load or break strength is 10,000 pounds. Just always keep in mind that tie down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit. The weight of your secured cargo must not exceed the combined working load limit of the straps being used. That's going to do it for today's look at the ProGrip ratchet tie down trap.
