Hi, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we are looking at the Prest-O-Fit Ruggids Exterior RV Step Rug Set here at etrailer.com. What I have here is the Ruggids in black. So this is what it looks like in the sun and on the RV but you can also get it in other colors like brown. This is a rug set that's a great addition to the steps on your RV or your motor home, especially if you're worried about it being slick when wet. This adds a little extra traction, or if you've had a day out and about, and your feet or your shoes are dirty because of walking through trails.

You got some mud, you got some dirt, you have some sand. This will allow you to wipe this off and keep your RV clean. Of the different rugs for steps that we have here, this is one of the softer of the rugs. It's really ideal, if maybe you're walking around barefoot or you have children walking around or little puppies climbing up the steps. This will allow for a comfortable experience.

We have deep treads on the rug and that's good because even if you get some water or liquids on it, this will allow it to just slide off. Also, even though it is really soft, that tread gives it a little bit, extra traction and grip. This is a universal fit, which means it fits curved steps. Like what I have here, as well as straight steps. Now there are some dimensions that it doesn't fit with.

Now for your width or how tall your steps are. This can fit from 8 inches to 11 inches. As for the width, the rug itself is 22 inches wide but it can fit steps of up to 24 inches. Just note that you will have a little bit of an excess space on the side. This style is nice because you don't have to worry about installation like tools or glue or screws.

This just requires springs, which come with your set. It comes in a set of 3, 1, 2, 3. And when you are ready to take it off and maybe store it in your RV, you don't have to worry about the storage because it is mold and mildew resistant. So even if it's sitting inside your RV, it will stay strong and durable, over the period of time before you're ready to use it. Another cool feature is how it is UV resistant. So even if it's out in the sun all day, in the heat, you don't have to worry about it losing its color. It's not going to fade. And since it is UV resistant, it stays sturdier for longer. Another thing that I recommend looking into that you might be interested in is the rugs from Prest-O-Fit. They are RV rugs that you can set out in front of our RV. Somewhere to relax in and just to stay on from the sun. That way it's a good pair with your rugs for your steps and keeps your RV clean longer. Now I do not recommend driving around with these on, just because while those springs will keep it secure, I don't trust it in the wind. But if you're just holding it up for the night or for really quick trips, let's say the gas station, you can keep these up since they stay with your steps as you fold them up or you can just take them off with the springs. It's a quick and easy install. Let's take a look at that process. For mounting, you have 2 options, actually. If you want it little bit more permanent, you have these adhesive hook and loop strips behind your rug. So you can see how this part can stick to your step. And then you can attach it with a strip. This is nice because then it's a bit more permanent and it has a tighter fit. Now, you can also just use the springs and I'll show you how to do that. First step is to put your rugs on your step and you're going to want to have the short flaps in the front, and then the longer flaps in the back. Once those fit over your steps, you then attach your springs. I like to start with the front flaps first. The reason I start with the front flap is so that I can tuck the back flap behind it. And that makes for a nice, clean fit. So do all 4 and make sure they're secure. Once you have all the springs attached, and if you do use the hook and loop strips that they're attached as well, that's it for the install, and you're good to go. Right here, I have 3 different exterior RV step rugs. On the top, we have the Prest-O-Fit Ruggids in black. On the middle, we have the Prest-O-Fit Trailhead in brown and here on the bottom, we have the Prest-O-Fit Outrigger in light brown. If you just need an exterior step rug just for aesthetics or general use, all 3 work really well. They are a universal fit and will fit most steps. Now, they do have some differences between the 3 and each shine for different situations. Here on the bottom, we have the Outrigger. Now, if I'm not sure what kind of situation I'm gonna be in, and I'm just looking for a general use rug, this would be the one I go with. It has the average carpet texture. It's not as abrasive as the other rug options. So if you just want a normal rug without too many frills, I would go with this one. Now, the Trailhead is the rough and ready rug. This has sort of an artificial turf texture. So if I'm gonna be going through a lot of dirt, a lot of mud, and I really need to get those off my shoes so they don't get on my RV, this is the one for you. Now, the Ruggids is also soft, but it also has texture. So if I have maybe a lot of sand or dirt or gravel but I don't want something too abrasive, the Ruggids is a good option. My final thoughts about these steps is I think they're really good, if you're looking for something that is comfortable and soft. If you want something that has a little bit more traction, you might want to take a look at the Trailhead Step Rugs but if you have let's say, pets, or you like to walk around barefoot and you are more interested in smoothest compared to rough texture, this might be a really good option for you.
