Hey everyone, it's Evangeline and today we'll be taking a look here at our Coghlan's Picnic Blanket, great for picnics, or when you're camping, or just to store it in your RV for when you need it, here at etrailer. So this is a very lightweight and portable polyester picnic blanket. So, it's not gonna be as cushiony, as let's say a quilt but it is a very quick picnic blanket, something to just set down onto the ground when you're at, let's say a sports game, you're on a picnic, you're at the beach or you're out camping. So, the polyester construction helps resists tears and it also repels water. So, here we have grass underneath and it just covers that grass and makes you a nice, smooth surface, but even if that grass was still dewy from the morning dew, or if it was wet or damp, or if the mud itself was wet, this is gonna help keep you dry as you sit on top of it. So, you have two options for keeping this picnic blanket down.

Since it is lightweight, once it is a windy day, it will very quickly fly away if you don't tie it down. So. first you do have these tie-down loops in the corner. You will have to use your own stakes, but this gives you an option to stake down your picnic blanket. Now, one thing with those loops is that if you're not careful, or if you put too much stress on it, since it is just a thin loop, it may tear off from the blanket, so just be careful.

So, this corner's actually where our tie-down loop tore off when a really big gust of wind came by, and that's okay though, because you also have these pockets in the corner, which you can fit heavier objects like rocks into just to keep it down, so you do get two options, I recommend using both at the same time and the pocket will be your safety anchor. One thing I did notice though, is that even as I've been walking over this picnic blanket, getting things and walking back off, I have noticed that it stays nice, dry and clean. I do have some dirt on my boots, but it's not coming off on the picnic blanket. So, the picnic blanket itself is 59 inches wide and 78 and 3/4 inches long. Now, if you are ready to go, you're ready to pack it up, you can compact it down into this stuff sack.

So, the stuff sack itself is four inches wide and five-and-a-half inches long, and since the picnic blanket is not insulated, it's just one layer of material, it should be easy just to roll it up or fold it up to fit inside the stuff stack, and once you do get it in there, you can cinch it down with this drawstring at the top. So, my aunt made me this scrap quilt, and I use it all the time for picnics or when I'm outside, just because it's a nice cushiony quilt, and the fabric looks really good. Now, my biggest issue when I do use it for picnics is that if the ground is muddy, my quilt gets muddy and it is harder to clean since it's a thicker material. So, that's where this picnic blanket comes in handy. I have this underneath our quilt right now.

So, this keeps out the mud and then I can put my cushion quilt on top. So then, I get the best of both worlds. So, my final thoughts about this picnic blanket is that it's more of a picnic liner instead of a cushioned blanket. So, it's gonna be very lightweight, which is nice because then it's more portable and easier to set down, but you won't be as, let's say, comfortable as if you had a quilt on top. Now, I did put that quilt on top and it was great as a liner to protect the underside of the quilt, as well as to make a nice surface. So, that was really good to see. I definitely recommend this as a nice addition to your current camping gear, just something quick, easy, compact, and portable, addition to your adventure.
