Today we're going to be taking a look at the Bulldog Lunette Ring for Adjustable Channel Brackets. This lunette ring is designed for use with pintle hitches. The adjustable coupler mounts in a weld-on channel bracket, which is sold separately, mounting hardware not included. This unit is made from a solid steel construction. Very strong and durable. It's also going to feature a black, powder-coated, finish that's going to do a great job at resisting rust and corrosion. The hole diameter, right here, that's going to give us a measurement of 3 inches.
Measuring edge to edge right here, the widest point directly in the center, just under 3 inches. So, that tells us this is designed to fit inside a 3-inch wide channel bracket. Mount holes on the unit are separated on center by 2 inches. Each hole has a diameter of 5/8 of an inch. The towing weight capacity for this unit is rated at 14,000 pounds. - Determining if Bulldog Lunette Ring has High Enough Capacity for USGI Trailer As you mentioned in your question, both the Bulldog Lunette Ring # BD1291010383 and the Zinc Model # BD1291020340 feature a towing capacity of 14,000 pounds. As long as the loaded weight of your USGI trailer does not exceed this number (which it certainly does not appear that it will), this lunette ring will work great. Based on the specs for the M101A2 trailer, this should give you plenty of safety margin as well. I have attached a couple short video demonstrations on these products...
