Rotating Arms with Ratcheting Hooks and Fender Straps

RockyMounts HighNoon 3 Bike Fender StrapRockyMounts HighNoon 3 Bike Fender Strap

The RockyMounts HighNoon FC has ratcheting hooks with a stabilzer strap that grab your bikes firmly by the front wheels, not the frames or the fenders. It's perfect for carrying e-bikes with fenders, carbon bikes, or bikes with a custom paint job. To load your bikes, simply place the front wheels in the cradles, rotate the arms up and over the wheels, press down firmly on the ratcheting hooks, and wrap the straps around the wheels below the fender. The front wheel cradles also have stabilizer straps to further secure your bikes to the rack.

Pivoting Rear Wheel Cradles

RockyMounts 11415 HighNoon 2 Bike Rack Wheel Straps

The rear wheel cradles accommodate a wide variety of bike wheelbases. They pivot front to back, adjusting automatically to each bike's wheelbase so there's no need for sliding and tightening. Secure the wheels in place with the built-in ratcheting strap. The straps also include extenders for use with fat bikes.

Tiered Trays with Adjustable Spacing

RockyMounts HighNoon 3 Bike Tiered Trays

The trays are tiered, so your bikes sit at different levels. This extra spacing helps prevent the handlebars from bumping into each other or getting tangled. It also provides extra ground clearance for backing down steep driveways.

RockyMounts HighNoon Adjustable Bike Trays

The trays also adjust 3" side-to-side to ensure you have enough space when loading your bikes. Just remove the bolts where the tray attaches to the bottom of the rack, slide the trays left or right to achieve the desired spacing, and then reinstall the bolts.

Front-Mounted Handle for Easy Tilting and Folding

RockyMounts 11415 HighNoon 2 Bike Rack Tilt AccessRockyMounts 10003 HighHoon 2 Bike Rack Folded

The rack tilts down with your bikes loaded. So, whether you're at the trail or the grocery store, you don't have to remove your bikes to access your cargo area. It also folds up when not in use. This leaves a smaller footprint, so you can keep the rack on your vehicle to park in your garage. And if you want to remove it, it doesn't take up as much space to store it.

RockyMount 10007 HighNoon Handle

To make tilting and folding easier, the handle is mounted on the front of the rack. This means you won't have to reach through or around your bikes with one hand to reach the handle, while supporting the rack's weight with the other, when lowering the rack. Instead, you'll be able to hold the rack with both hands the entire time.

Easy Installation

RockyMounts HighNoon Hitch Mount Bike Rack

The rack installs with a threaded, anti-rattle hitch pin. Simply slide the shank into your hitch receiver, insert the threaded hitch pin, and tighten it down with the included tool. This will reduce noise and movement while the rack is installed.

Complete Security

RockyMount HighNoon Built-In Cable LockRockyMount HighNoon Built-In Cable Lock

The included locks secure your bikes to the rack and the rack to your vehicle. The integrated cable lock threads around your bikes' frames and secures to the pivot bolt on the base of the rack.

RockyMounts HighNoon Hitch Lock

The hitch lock simply snaps onto the hitch pin. The cable and hitch lock are keyed alike, so you'll only need 1 key for both locks.

Video Transcript for RockyMounts HighNoon FC 2 Bike Rack Review RKY67RR

Hi everyone, It's Evangeline here at etrailer and I have the RockyMounts HighNoon FC 2 Bike Platform Rack loaded up with two bikes. You can also get this bike rack in different configurations. You can get it in a single bike or even triple bike configuration. What we're gonna focus on today is our two bike platform rack for 2" hitch receivers. We have a heavy electric bike, we have my mountain bike, and we will talk about the different features, and how I got these bikes on there, and if it will work with your vehicle. But first, let's take this for a drive.

That way you can see what would it be like owning this bike rack. We're driving on our etrailer test course which has speed bumps, and we're gonna do our alternating speed bumps first. So this is to simulate maybe hitting a curb or a pothole and you can see that side to side movement. We're gonna go over our normal speed bumps which has the up and down movement. So you can see this is like if you are entering or exiting a parking lot or your driveway.

Now we're gonna do our slalom, and this is gonna be our quick turns or our evasive maneuvers. So you can just see how well it goes through our parking lot when we move quickly. So after that drive around our test course, we brought the car back into the studio so we can really take a look at the bike rack. Now when we did go into reverse, you could see through the backup camera that the view was covered a little bit. This will change depending on your vehicle, your backup camera, how you load up your bikes.

This bike is a really good example of why this bike rack is needed though, because it's a heavy e-bike, it has fenders and it has a step through frame. Those three features already make it very difficult to carry with other bike racks. But look at the fender capability of this rack. You have two straps for your front wheel mount. Since it's a front wheel mount, there's zero frame contact.

Doesn't matter if you have a step through frame or a normal frame, this can carry it. Ideally, you want your front wheel mount as close to your fork as possible, but with the fender, you can't do that. So bring this as close to the bottom of the fender as you can get it, and then secure with that front wheel hook. Your straps are gonna be there to add that extra support. Straps go under the rim, over the hook and into the tab. You also have a strap at the bottom of your wheel. This goes over the wheel and into the hook this side. As helpful as that is for that extra security, it does take a little bit of extra time as well. So if you are carrying around bikes without fenders, you could just continue as usual and take the straps off. And for those other bikes at different shapes and sizes, this has a range of wheel bases it can carry. So from 36 inches all the way up to 50 inch wheel base, that's an improvement from the MonoRail and also for your tire size, you can carry tires from 20 inches all the way up to 29 inch tires, with a maximum tire width of five inches. Now if you are carrying around your wider tires past three inches, you have an included strap adapter. So just add this on to your current strap. The cradle will definitely fit. You just need to extend that strap out. So when my friends and I went out to eat after our bike ride, there we're two things that happened that really had me appreciate this bike rack. We needed to grab some things from inside of the hatch real quick and when we did go to eat, I wanted to make sure that the bikes we're safe. So here's those features. The first feature is that this rack tilts away with the bikes loaded. So there's this black lever underneath the rack, pull it and then let it drop down to a tilt. This tilts 30 degrees away, which allows you to open up your hatch, open up your trunk or even lower your tailgate. This is a great way to get into your hatch there to grab those things like your bags, put away your helmets, grab your waters, or even change out your shoes. Now remember, if you are maxing out your weight capacity, and you have 120 pounds total of bikes on the rack, that's also how much weight you're going to have to lift back up. So what I recommend doing is using the bike rack frame as a support and not the bikes. So when you lift this up, you just need to go high enough for it to snap into place and now you can drive again. The second feature I really appreciated was the cable lock. So this is a heavy duty cable lock. There's steel on the inside, but there is a cover on the outside so none of that metal is exposed. This is a five foot long cable, measuring from the hoop so I do wish it was on the longer side. That way I could secure both of the front tires as well as the frame. But this loops into itself and then secures onto the rack. You get two of those locks with this bike rack. So one is gonna be for your cable lock, and this matches the lock that is used with your anti-rattle bolt. You do get two keys, but they're keyed-alike, so you really only need just one to access both of those cores. For the anti-rattle bolt, that's what secures the bike rack to your hitch. You do get a stamp tool to tighten that down, which works fine, but I do recommend using or doing what I do, which is I do have a socket ranch handy inside my vehicle just because it's easier to install and uninstall the bike rack that way. A lot of using a bike rack is putting bikes on, taking bikes off, putting the bike rack on, taking the bike rack off. Now this actually makes it pretty simple. Working with our heavier electric bike, this is a closer look at how that lever works for the strap and how I tuck it behind the wheel to keep it out of the way of the spokes. Bottom strap, pull down, and toss away from the rack. Top strap, pull out and bring it towards your front hook. You got that bright blue button for your front hook. So hold onto your bike's frame as you disengage that button, lift up, push out. And now you can take your heavier bike off. With the bikes off, this is a closer look at the bike rack like the rear cradle that pivots for those different wheel bases. Again, maximum wheel base is 52 inches. If possible, put your straps away when your bikes are off just so they're not flopping around as you drive around. Your front wheel cradle looks the same way but you'll also have these grooves for those big tire widths. Whether you have a thin road bike tire or a wide fat bike tire, it's designed for both, but it's also designed to fold down, be more compact and neat. That fender strap for the bottom of the wheels goes to the side of the bike with this little tab. Your front hook has some different options for storing the strap. You can bring the hook down as you fold the entire mass down. You could put the strap on maybe the hook of the other side. You can wrap it around the tray and back into the hook. You can even use that center tab as an extra storage spot for your second strap. If you're not planning on going out for a bike ride just yet, but you also don't wanna take your bike rack off completely, well, you can fold this up into the more portable or compact position. Remember that lever you pulled earlier, well pull that again, but instead of tilting it away, you're gonna lift up on the rack and it locks into that portable position closer up to your vehicle's back. With it folded up like this, you can see how it actually has a larger more open tray design, and that means if you do have a backup camera back there, you are slightly more likely to be able to see through the bike rack. Although depending on where it is, if it's centered, you might lose visibility as well. You can see here the bracket on the side, that's for your own cable lock if you wanna run it through there, if you wanna use a larger cable lock. You also have these bolts on the bottom of the tray, that's there for if you have clearance issues with your bikes. If you have handlebars and saddles bumping into each other you can loosen those bolts, slide the trays left and right to get better clearance. This is compatible with these single bike add-ons. So you can convert your 2" hitch receiver bike rack into a three bike platform rack. This would decrease your overall weight capacity though. Right now we have a 60 pound per bike weight capacity, which means we can carry around this heavy commuter e-bike. If I use this add-on though, we would then have a 45 pound per bike weight capacity, which is actually too little for this heavier bike. Bike racks that can carry bikes with fenders are limited but not nonexistent. Pretty much all of your frame mounted bike racks can be considered as an option. The downside to those is what if you have a carbon fiber frame, or what if you have a step through frame That's when it gets a little tricky. So another option you might see for your bikes with fenders is the Saris SuperClamp. This is a dual wheel mount bike rack where it's frameless contact, holds your bike by the front and the rear wheel. And if you have fenders, that's okay too because it has straps on the bottom similar to what you see on the HighNoon. So if that's something worth considering, especially since it has the same weight capacity. The downside to this though is that it has less of a wheel base capacity, so for shorter bikes, and also it gets a little tricky when you have two bikes on there. So compared to the HighNoon, the HighNoon with its front wheel mount style is a lot faster and the fact that you can adjust the trays back and forth helps out with those two bikes. But those are also features worth looking at depending on your bikes, and those are just different options for you. So for my personal review of this bike rack, especially when comparing it to the RockyMounts MonoRail. If you like the MonoRail but you wish it worked for your fenders, this is gonna give you almost the exact same experience but actually improve. They've upgraded some things, they've added cable lock brackets, and this has a longer wheel base compared to the MonoRail. So definitely a solid choice and I can see this becoming a popular option because it works for bikes of different shapes and different sizes. Now for some downsides to this bike rack is if you have that heavier bike, you do have to consider that this does not have a ramp. So you're going to be lifting those heavier bikes onto the rack and you're just gonna have to figure out the best way that works for you. Another thing to consider is it may get a little confusing for the add-on options. We offer the three bike kit as a full kit so you don't have to mix and match. So definitely use our fit guide here at etrailer so that way you can pick the right bike rack for you that matches your hitch receiver, whether you have 1-1/4" or a 2". Check out our videos and descriptions to find the best fit for you. But this right here right now was a look at the RockyMounts HighNoon FC 2 Bike Platform Rack for your 2" hitch receivers. And you saw this here at etrailer. My name is Evangeline and I hope you enjoyed the journey.

  • RockyMounts E-Bike Rack Compatible with Bike Fenders
Hi Texas Dave! The BackStage # RKY10002 you're referring to is a new-ish rack from RockyMounts, but the one you described is the HighNoon FC # RKY67RR. It's similar to the BackStage in design, but it comes with straps to use if your e-bike has fenders. The HighNoon FC is compatible with up to 60 lb bikes that have up to 5" wide tires. If you have something outside of these specs please let me know and I'll be happy to make a different recommendation!

The RockyMounts GuideRail Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # RKY47ZR can be installed on a 2" hitch receiver with the Adapter # RKY84MR, and it can used for bikes with fenders as long as it doesn't cover too much of the front tire.
