This has been a great purchase that has enabled me to maneuver my trailer better in the space I need to park it in my backyard off a fairly narrow alley. I installed it on the front of my '98 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 V10. It is stout and secure and was not too difficult to put on. I think most of my installation issues were factors of my truck's age, or mine, but who knows. As I recall, I had to attach bolts in a particular order so that the holes would line up right and I wasn't sheering the threads. After I figured out the order it snuggled up great and feels as solid as if it were factory installed. My front plate bends a bit at the bottom to compensate for the receiver sticking out, but no so bad as it isn't readable. It does not stick out much more than the bumper so I have not run into it when walking across the front of my truck.
I love it to push my trailer in to my yard and I can't wait to put a boat in the water with it.
I would buy one again, if I were to ever get a different truck...but why would I do that?!
My front mount receiver hitch for my 97 Dodge Ram came in perfect shape and in a timely manner, the installation went very smooth and instructions were very easy. Only thing I recommend is a little longer sway bar bolts would be nice, just a little hard to get started. Other than that perfect easy company to work with and shipping was great I will be using etrailer for future purchases thank you!!

Great hitch, I've used it to hook up and move trailers around and pull things over a bunch of times. I even got an attachment for my vice so I can mount it and have it handy when needed. Installation was easy, took less than a hour with some basic hand tools.

Well its been a year, still extremely pleased with my front mount hitch. Ive used it for everything from moving trailers and stuff around to mounting a vice on there to pulling people out of ditches and the mud. Highly recommend
Perfect fit... I use the front hitch quite often on my dodge service truck... As a portable sawmill service the choice between backing the sawmill up the narrow winding driveway that goes up and over the ridge the log deck or hitching it up to the front and driving it into place is no question... Another use has been positioning the travel trailer... No clearance with the service box for tight turns... Full range of turn off the front...
Draw tight front receiver hitch was a perfect fit for my 2000 Dodge Ram 2500. All hardware was a perfect match for my vehicle. I plan to use the front hitch for final positioning a trailer into campsites.

UPS did there best to destroy the box, but nothing was lost in the shipment.
the receiver fit as expected, tucking nice and tight under the oem bumper.

So far so good, i have not used it much but one thing about it, a good sideeffort about how this is mounted to the frame, it did stiff up the steering.
I needed a front mounted hitch because I pull a 5th wheel camper with a boat hooked to the back of it and I needed a place to put a bike rack for the kids bikes. I chose the Draw-tite brand hitch based on the fact that I liked the way it mounted farther back on the frame than the Curt version of the front mounted hitch. I mounted this hitch on my 2000 Ram 2500 Diesel without any help in about 2 hours. I did have to remove one OEM front bumper bolt on each side and, of course, the sway bar bolts (I probably could have mounted the hitch in about 45 minutes had any of these bolts come out easily but winter driving and road salt got the best of them. Luckily the hitch comes with all six new hardened bolts). I would suggest getting help just for the fact that it's difficult to hold the hitch steady while you raise the sway bar back into position. If you do decide to go it alone as I did, I will tell you that your best alignment punch will love you more than your own momma can when you are lining up the sway bar bolts. The hitch fit very well and I am extremely satisfied with the quality of the Draw-tite front mounted hitch
My wife and I installed this on our 1999 Dodge Ram 1500. I am a retired geologist and definitely not mechanical. I had to buy an impact wrench to remove the existing bolts, which included a brush guard bumper. It was toughest putting the bolts back in for the sway bar with the added metal from the hitch. It took us awhile, but to be honest it wasn't that hard and would be easy for anyone mechanically inclined.
The hitch was very reasonably priced and arrived quickly. It appeared to be of stout construction and is fairly heavy. Installation was straightforward with the four lower mounting points using existing bolts welded in the frame (sway bar mounts), and the upper attachment points using existing holes (had to remove/replace the bolts that were there). All necessary hardware was included. The hitch fit very well, it was no problem getting the holes to line up. I was concerned it might hang down too far or protrude too much but it does not at all; a clean looking installation with the lower bumper trim modified as in the pictures. I’m very pleased with the hitch, and the service from etrailer has been excellent. Thank you.
Welds look decent but horrible paint quality. I'm going to have to wheelabrate & repaint it before I even mount it

I will have our customer service team reach out to you. I recommend touching up the hitch with a rust resistant paint which you will have on hand for regular hitch maintenance.

Fit good, and looks great. I had to trim a little of the license plate holder to get my reciever tube in, but good otherwise.
I'm pleased with the front hitch it was easy to put on didn't take but 30min to install it and the receiver is tight and my rod rack dont move around In it
Had to bend the wings to fit frame to aline holes. But I had the tools to do the job. Very pleased with end product.
Exactly what I was looking for,since the truck didn't come with recovery hooks.
Receiver went on like it was part of the original truck. The delivery was prompt and the product was in good shape even though it was heavy and could have been mishandled.
It was about 1/8 inch off for one side. Had to use a hydraulic ram to get to fit properly. But other than that its great.
Installed on a 97 Dodge 2500HD with the 5.9 gas engine. I had to remove my factory tow hooks and a grill guard. Other than that it bolts right on with the included hardware. Use a floor jack or ATV jack for the hitch and a cargo strap to support the sway bar. The easiest hitch I ever installed.

Good product and have not had any problems with it.
I just installed the this on my dodge ram 2500. it seems to be constructed well and can be used for many different applications. I am going to use it to carry the spare tire, but can be used to pull truck out if it gets stuck. e-trailer shipped in a timely manner, and customer service rep was very helpful when ordering.

I have a step bupper and it works good to check oil etc.
Product has worked exactly as advertised. Installation was according to specs and I have had no follow-up issues. I also liked the service from etrailer. The shipment arrived as expected. Overall very happy with the product. I had the product shipped to Canada so had to pay US exchange which added about 25% to the cost. Other than that...no issues.

I have had no issues...working as advertised.
Hitch did not line up with holes in truck so was unable to install after all the work to disassemble sway bar and bumper bolts. The right side lined up but the left could not be lined up. Paint was chipped and flaking in a couple spots on delivery.

Thank you for your review. It does sound like your hitch was flexed in shipping which can be pretty common. The hitch is designed of mild steel to flex with the vehicles movement. I have attached a helpful article to flex the hitch back into place to help with the installation.

This product is great. Only took about an hour to install and fit perfectly.
Came quickly, bolted on as it was supposed to, and used it a few times with a reciever hitch winch to get it up a hill. I dont use it a lot but I like having a front reciever hitch on my truck.
Fit like a glove. I like well made things and this is one of them. I have an 02 dodge and have had a front hitch since new. I have never had steering problem. I think a front hitch makes the front of the frame stiffer......
Great quality and made strong. Easy to bolt up on the 98 Ram 2500. All hardware is included and instructions are clear for those of us the glance at them ;)
I just removed the air dam instead of notching it out cause it gives me better access to the side hooks on the hitch for winching. I think it looks better anyway without it.
