Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove some trim paneling and the tail light assemblies to access this harness.
Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the T-One vehicle wiring harness with the 4-way flat trailer connector. Now, this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2018 BMW X2 vehicles. And on our custom fit part, I always like to recommend for you to go to our website, use our fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show if this will work for your application. Now, this harness will provide this 4-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. It is compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole, and 7-pole adapters, that we do sell separately. And this harness does connect very quickly and easily.
All you have to do is locate your connection points, which are behind the tail lights on the vehicle, plus in these T connectors, one on each side, driver's side, passenger's side. Ground's your white wire. And then run this power wire to your vehicle's battery. This harness does include this ModuLite, which is a power module. This is to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer.
This does connect directly to the vehicle's battery. And that's to avoid overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Now, the wire that runs out the back, that the 4-way's attached to, that plugs into your trailer, that's a 16 gauge bonded wire. And if you notice, the 4-way has this integrated dust cap on it. What that does is when you're not plugged in or using it, you just put that cover on. It protects the terminals.
A few specs on this harness. The maximum amperage for the stop and turn light circuit is five amps per circuit. For the tail light circuit, it's 7.5 amps per circuit. Now, this kit will include everything I laid out here on the table. And I'm just going to briefly go through all the pieces and where they attach. When you go to install this, you gain access at the rear of your vehicle, behind the tail lights.
And you'll want to start on the driver's side. You'll take this T connector that has the yellow wire in it, that's for the driver's side, and you'll unplug the harness from the tail lights and then plug this in between the two. Once that's connected, you'll take the other T connector that has this length of green wire and then you'll take . the green wires lets you know that that's for the passenger's side. And it's a length of wire, so you'll run this over to the passenger's side.Once you get over there, behind the tail lights, you'll go ahead and plug this in behind the tail lights. Once those two are connected, you want to make sure this ModuLite box is connected to a good flat surface so it doesn't bounce around. It does have a tab on it with a hole that you can drill a screw to hold it into place. Another thing is they give you a piece of double face tape you can use to hold it down. Either way, you just want make sure that doesn't bounce around. Once those are all attached, you could run your bonded wire out the back towards the trailer. And then you'll have two remaining wires, a white wire and a black wire. Now, the white wire will have this eyelet on it, that's for the ground. You want to connect that to a good, clean ground that's nearby. If there isn't one, you can make your own using this grounding screw. And then the last wire's this black power wire. This needs to run up to the front of your vehicle, to your vehicle's battery. And the way you do that is they give you this extra length of wire and some conductors. You'll take a butt connector, put it on the power wire, connect it to one end of this length of wire, and then run it all the way up to the front of the vehicle. Now, when you get to the front, you don't want to connect this directly to the battery, you want to run it through this inline fuse holder.Take your other butt connector, install it to one side of the fuse holder, just like that. And then on the other side, you take the eyelet connector they include and attach that to the battery. Once that's all attached, pop open your fuse holder, take your include 15 amp fuse, install it into the fuse holder, put your cap back on, and your system's all ready to go. They do have a set of good, detailed instructions that'll describe all this. How to do it, with pictures. And they even include some extra cable ties you can see that'll take up any slack in the wiring. But that should do it for the review on the T-One vehicle wiring harness with the 4-way flat trailer connector.

Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your vehicle with this custom wiring harness. T-One connector plugs directly into existing wiring. Powered ModuLite reduces strain on wiring system.I have a 2018 BMW X2 that did not come with a factory tow package. I had an etrailer hitch and 4 way plug installed last year and has been perfect since. I just recently purchased a camper and needed to have a Brake controller & Brake controller 7 way deluxe kit installed. My mechanic installed them with the detailed instructions that the units came with without any issues. The Tekonsha P3 is extremely user friendly and is working flawlessly. A bit overkill for my car being I can only tow max 3500 pounds, and my camper is 1 axel. this unit is rated up to 3 axles. I look at it like this way, when I trade in my BMW I will take my P3 with me. etrailer is amazing with the support & products they provide and I highly recommend them to anyone who asks me.
Great service. Calls are picked up quickly. Questions answered and very accommodating. One problem is that the wiring kit listed under my vehicle had me thinking it was compatible but it wasn't. Confusing. Had to send it back and pay for shipping. Otherwise this is my 4th trailer hitch and would highly recommend etrailer.
It helped the installer and made the installation easy and clean.
Hitch receiver and wiring for BMW X2 work great.
Easy to install!
