Today we're going to be taking a look at the Hopkins plug in simple vehicle wiring harness with the four pull flat trailer connector. This product fits certain years of the Toyota Prius V. You can use the vehicle fit guide located at etrailer.com to make sure this is a fit for your vehicle. It's going to provide a four-way flat connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. It is compatible with five-pull, six-pull, and seven-pull adapters, adapters are sold separately, and it's going to come with a dust cap for the four-way flat connector. That way you can cover up the connection points when the plug is not being used. It just simply slides over there. The unit also includes a tail-light converter, to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer's.

Powered module's going to connect directly to the vehicle battery to avoid overloading your vehicle's electrical system. The unit's designed to connect quickly and easily. All you have to do is locate the connection points in the rear cargo area, and plug in your connectors. The connector with the green wire goes to the passenger side of the vehicle. Connector with the yellow and red wiring goes to the driver's side. These plugs are going to match up perfectly with the ports on the vehicle.

They're going to push together for a nice, tight, secure connection. Once you have those connected you'll need to make a ground connection. That's your white wire with the ring terminal already attached to it. You want to get that grounded to a nice clean metal location with the included grounding screw. Then you'll need to mount the converter box, that's this black box right here, just to a nice, out of the way location. You can use the zip ties to get that mounted.

It's got some mounting areas right here so you can get that tied off. Then you'll need to run the hot lead to the vehicle battery. The hot lead is the red wire coming out of the converter box. It already has a butt connector pre-attached to it, so what you'll do is connect this red wire to one end of the bundle of red wire. The other end of the bundle runs to one half of the fuse holder, which already has the connector on there. The other half of the fuse holder has a ring terminal attached to it and gets connected to the positive post of the vehicle battery.

Very quick and easy to do. 15-amp fuse is included, goes directly in the fuse holder. It's got the cap that goes over to keep it safe and protected. Once you have that done you'll secure any excess wiring or slack in the wire with the included cable ties. Once the installation's complete the four-way connector's going to be stowed in your rear cargo area. Plenty of wiring here to extend it out the back of the vehicle when you want to use it. It is recommended that you use a small amount of terminal grease on all your electrical connections, like the plugs on the vehicle and the four pull connector itself. That grease is designed to help prevent corrosion and the grease is included with the kit.
