Speaker 1: Today, we're taking a look at the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Line Harness with a four full flat trailer connector. This part fits certain years of the Volkswagen Golf Ultrak. To ensure that this is a fifth year vehicle, or to double check that it's a fit, you can use the vehicle fit guide at etrailer.com.This unit provides a four-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. It is compatible with five pull, six pull, and seven pull adapters. Adapters are sold separately. And it comes with a dust cap for the four way flat connector.

That way you can cover up the connection points when your plug's not being used. All the wires run to this black box. This is the included power taillight convertor. This ensures that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer's. It connects directly to the battery through the wiring to avoid overloading your vehicle's electrical system.Now, this is constructed using Surface-Mount technology, offers consistent reliable performance.

What that does is it maximizes the trailer light yield and intensity while producing minimal heat and ensure superior operation even in rough road conditions. Now, this is designed to connect quickly and easily. All you need to do is locate the connection points in the rear cargo area, and plug in your connectors. One goes to the passenger's side; the other goes to the driver's side. And these are custom fit for our vehicle so these are gonna match up perfectly to the ports on the vehicle, and they snap.lock together for a nice, tight secure fit.So, as you have your T-connectors plugged in, you'll need to make a ground connection, that's your white wire with the ring terminal attached to it.

You need to get this one grounded at a suitable grounding location and you can use the included grounding screw to accomplish that. And then you'll need to mount the convertor box to a safe, out of the way location, and you can do that with the double sided adhesive foam tape provided in the kit.Next, you'll need to run the hot lead to the vehicle battery. The hot lead is the short black wire coming out of the box. This gets connected to one end of the bundle with one of the included bud connectors. The other end of the bundle runs to the vehicle battery, gets another bud connector attached to it, and connects to one half of your fuse holder.

The other half of the fuse holder gets a ring terminal attached to it, and gets connected to the positive post of the vehicle battery. Once you have that done, you can secure the excess or slack in your wiring with the included cable ties. And then once your installation's complete, the four-way connector will be stowed in an out of the way location within the trunk of the vehicle.Plenty of wiring here so you can extend it out the back when you need to use it, and then roll it up and tuck it away when you don't. It is recommended that you use a small amount of dielectric grease on all your electrical connections, like the plugs on the vehicle and the four plug connector itself. That's designed to help prevent corrosion to the connection points. That grease is sold separately and available at etrailer.com if you're in need of some.When it comes to the maximum amperage for the stop and turn lights, we're looking at five amps per circuit.
