Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we are looking at the Truxedo Cargo Retriever for truck beds here at etrailer. One big reason that you might want a Truxedo Cargo Retriever, like what I have here, is if you don't wanna get into your truck bed, if your truck is too high, maybe you're on the short side like me, or you're just in a hurry. You might wanna get this in order to grab whatever's inside your truck bed and bring it to you. This is a fixed cargo retriever that is 52 inches long. Now, there are other styles that can be adjusted to be longer or shorter.

This is nice because it's nice and lightweight and easy to use and you don't have to worry about making those adjustments. I personally think this works really well with your compact trucks, because it is 52 inches long. Although you still can reach a fair length into your truck bed. If you do have a longer truck bed, you may not be able to reach all the way to the end if your item is at the end. This is made of a lightweight yet sturdy steel construction.

You also have it coated with this black powder coat. That's to prevent it from rusting or corroding. On one end, you have this handle covered in red to make for easy gripping. On the other hand, you have this hook. One thing to note with the hook though, is you may want to pad it on your own in case you are worried of accidentally puncturing some bags or cargo.

Since it is so lightweight, one downside is that if you do have heavier cargo, you'll notice that the retriever does bend or bow on the inside. That's just something to keep in mind. It's still very useful for catching onto lightweight cargo and reorganizing your truck bed, but just be careful with the heavier items. This comes with mounting clips, and this works perfectly with your Truxedo Tonneau Covers. Now, we do not have a Truxedo Tonneau Cover here right now, which I would like to show, is that I made a way where I have it clamped onto our clamps.

And I tighten down the clamps to our mounting pieces for the cargo retriever. And that's been working so far. You can have it more permanently mounted if you do not have a Truxedo rail. So that's something to keep in mind as you purchase this. Now, the mounting clamps that do come with it is what it's designed for. That's why it's so lightweight. It is designed to be used with your tonneau covers. That way you don't have to roll up your tonneau cover in order to access your truck bed because you have this retriever. My final thoughts about this cargo retriever is I do understand its purpose. It is to be used with your tonneau covers to make it a bit more of a streamlined experience. Now, it is kind of on the lightweight side. We do have cargo retrievers that are heavier, bulkier and can, you know, organize heavier cargo. But if you're looking for something that's lightweight and works with your Truxedo Tonneau Cover, this is a pretty good option.
