Video Transcript for Review of Jif Marine Dock Accessories - Dock Ladder - JIF67FR

Ellen: Hey everybody. I'm Ellen here etrailer.com and we're taking a quick look at the Jif Marine step ladder for your dock. This is going to allow you to have an easy place to get in and out of the water. The nice thing about it is that it's made of anodized aluminum, so you don't have to worry about any kind of rust. It's going to be relatively lightweight, but still very durable for many years of service and you should be able to install it pretty simply. And it doesn't come with any kind of mounting hardware, but that kind of depends on what sort of dock material you're going to be attaching this to.

So you do have to provide that on your own. Just something to keep in mind. Now there are several sizes available or several rung lengths here etrailer.com to choose from. So you can see all those listed out to just a matter of how far down you want it to go, how much distance there is from your dock to the water, and how far you want the ladder to extend down there. I'll give you some measurements to help you figure out which one is right for you.You can also bring this to an upright position. There's going to be a little detent on the one side.

So I'll let my friend Zach show you that. So you can just pull that little pin and then you can lift it up. There's not enough room in our studio to allow for that to come all the way up, but it will go completely vertical. And you just reattach it into that same hole with that same pin to keep it upright. So you do have that option to bring it up out of the water.Let's take a little wider view of it so you can actually see the ladder a little bit better.

Now, again, there are several different lengths here, so I'll give you a measurement. But as far as the distance from the deck surface to the top handle, it's about 20 inches. If we go for the width, it's again about 20 inches there.Going from the top of the deck surface to the bottom, most step will have a distance for the three-step of 36 and a half inches. The steps are separated out by about 11 and three-quarter inches. So for each of those steps, adding on an additional length there, that gives you about how much distance you have, again, from the deck height or the deck surface to the top of your bottom-most step.

So I hope that helps in deciding how much space you need. You can always take it apart right here and make sure that you can just take off the actual rungs themselves, so all you would have is this portion to stash up. So if you want to keep that up, again, in the off season or whenever it's not in use, you can do it that way. It's just a bolt and locknut that goes through there to attach those two together. That hardware does come with it, as does the hardware to attach it here. It's just actually mounting it to the surface of your deck that you will have to provide on your own. That's pretty much it as far as our look at the Jif Marine ladder. I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is the right one for you. We do have several other versions available from Jif to get your ladder situated on your deck. So I hope that this has helped you to choose the right one.I'm Ellen with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.
