The GX4820 was designed to provide a simple, user-friendly experience. Back-lit LED indicators let you verify that the unit is operating correctly, and allow it to be easily operated at night. These indicators signal the battery's charge status and alert you to potential performance issues or errors. This allows you to identify if the unit is too hot or cold for operation or detect a reversed polarity connection to a battery.
The touch-button interface allows you to turn the unit on or off and select your charging mode. A plastic cover twists into position over the interface to deter others from changing the settings while the charger is in use. Once the cover is secured into position you don't have to worry about anybody accidentally hitting the mode button.

The 48V repair mode lets you restore lost capacity to sulfated and old batteries. Supply mode provides a DC power supply for troubleshooting low-voltage batteries or equalizing unbalanced battery systems.
The NOCO GX4820 smart charger uses a 9-stage charging cycle to quickly and efficiently charge your battery. This ensures that the battery safely reaches maximum capacity without being overcharged.
In the first step of the charging process, the charger will analyze the battery's condition and state of charge. The charger then uses this data to diagnose the battery's health and ensure it can be safely charged. If the battery is deeply discharged or sulfated, the charger will automatically enter the recovery stage to repair the battery by pulsing small amounts of current.
Once the unit has determined the battery's condition is stable, it will initialize the charging process by providing a constant, gentle charge. Entering the opportunity stage, it begins charging at a high current. As the charger enters the bulk stage, it adjusts to the battery and slowly steps down the charge for optimal charging, and brings the battery to 80-percent capacity.
As the battery nears full charge, the GX4820 enters the absorption stage and delivers small amounts of current to limit battery gassing and safely bring the battery to 90-percent capacity. The charger will then begin optimization of the battery, bringing it to full capacity and optimizing it for increased run time and performance.
The final step of the charging process, maintenance, monitors the battery for drops in power and supplies the correct current to keep it fully charged. If a drop in voltage is detected, the charger will begin the optimization cycle to keep the battery fully charged.
Extra-large 13/32" eyelet connectors mount directly to your battery's terminals. The lie-flat design ensures maximum contact with terminals to optimize current transfer. A built-in 50-amp fuse protects your connection against dangerous overloads.
The GX4820 was built to handle tough industrial and commercial environments. The unit has an IP66 rating, which means it can withstand multi-directional, low-pressure water jets and is completely sealed against dirt, dust, oil, and other non-corrosive materials. The GX4820 comes with a remote LED auxiliary port that can be used to connect external LEDs (sold separately) to let you monitor charging. This is great for keeping tabs on the unit's operation when the charger's interface and LEDs are not accessible. The port supports 2 LEDs, and it reverses the polarity between the charging identifier and the error indicator.

Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the NOCO genius 48 volt ultra safe industrial battery charger. Now this is a portable, automatic battery charger and maintainer. Helps you keep a charge on both deep cycle lead acid and lithium ion batteries. This one is designed for charging 48 volt batteries. It's ideal for batteries up to 425 amp hours. And it's perfect for charging electrical vehicles like a golf cart, scissor lift, or pallet jack.
It is suitable for both on and off board applications. And it can also be used to maintain a full charge on your batteries.Very front of it here has this nice waterproof, tamper proof interface. You can see that can be unscrewed. And that'll give you access to the mode button right here. So what we're going to do is, let me zoom in so we can talk about the face of this charger.
So the mode button is right up here at the top. This will allow you to select which charging mode is needed. Now this is a versatile six in one battery charger. So you just simply push that button to switch the charging modes and the charging modes are all listed right over here. And they have an LED right next to them, that'll illuminate when the charging mode is selected.So the very top one is a 48 volt norm mode.
Right under that is a 48 volt cold/AGM mode. Under that is a 48 volt AGM plus mode. Underneath is a 48 volt lithium ion mode. And then the two bottom ones are repair mode and a supply mode. Now this does have an auto memory feature, which will remember the last charge mode if it accidentally unplugged or if power is lost.
Right over here there is the charge level LEDs. This will give a visual to the amount of charge in this battery. Right in that center circuit, that'll light up with LEDs. If one LED lights up, that means you have a 25% charge. Two LEDs light up, it's 50%. Three would be 75% and if all four LEDs light up that means the battery charger's 100% charged.This does use advanced diagnostics, which will analyze your battery feedback and display an error pattern if a problem is detected. And the error pattern is displayed between the error LED and above that the standby LED. It'll flash between the two to determine the problem and you can determine which problem it is by what flash it is. It has a single flash, a double flash, a triple flash, a quadruple flash. And if the error LED is just a solid red, that'll just mean reverse polarity. The standby right above it is a solid orange. That LED means the battery voltage is too low for the battery charger to detect the battery.Going to zoom out, talk about the system some more. This does have a built in battery maintenance technology. It'll monitor the battery activity. Begins charging when needed. Allows for continuous operation without supervision. And it has zero risk of overcharging your battery. Does have an inhibit function, which will prevent the electric vehicles from moving while charging and accidental damage to your connected cabling system. Right in here where your cord goes in, there's an inhibit port and it'll contain a 20 amp relay that'll close when connected to AC power and disables the vehicle.This will also include a built in battery desulfator which will rejuvenate under performing batteries. Helps recover deeply discharged batteries down to two volts. This is a compact powerful charger. It'll officially convert AC power into safe DC power for battery charging. Does use an onboard micro computer to control charging to minimize power loss and this can be used with the X connect battery accessories. That we do sell separately on our website. They'll provide quick an easy accessory changes.Power consumption on this is 960 watts maximum. The DC cable right over here, it is fused. The 50 amp fuse, it's all included. Has the islets on the end for insulation of the cables. The length on the DC cord is 76 inches. The other end is a AC cable with the type A plug. It's all included. The cord length of that is also 76 inches. Do want to give you a few dimensions on the box itself. The overall length of it, if we put a ruler on it, it's going to be right at 12 inches long. The width is going to be right at eight and a half inches wide. And the total height is right at three and 7/8 inches tall.Just going to go ahead and screw back on our cover here. Go ahead and tighten that down. But that should do it. Now it does come with a nice user's guide also and a couple of extra strain release for attaching your cords.
