Are you tired of carrying a bulky ring of keys - for your hitch lock and coupler lock, your pickup cover or trailer door, and all the various padlocks securing your equipment? Tired of fumbling for the right key or having to replace a lost key?
BOLT (Breakthrough One-key Lock Technology) has solved that problem by designing a line of locks that can operate with a key you already have handy - your vehicle ignition key.
When you insert your own key into the cylinder, spring-loaded plate tumblers move up and down until they are matched exactly to that key. The first time the key is rotated, the cylinder is uniquely coded to that key. When the key is removed, the cylinder moves into the locked position. When the key is turned again, it will rotate to the unlocked position.
BOLT is particularly useful in commercial applications. Imagine being able to send a crew without having to sign out multiple keys for a work truck, trailer, hitch pins, and equipment locks. With BOLT, the vehicle key becomes a master key. It opens all those locks and you no longer have the hassle of getting to a work site only to find that you've brought the wrong keys.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Bolt line of padlocks. These are designed to be keyed exactly to your vehicle's ignition, so you're always going to have the right key with you. Available for Ford, GM, Toyota, Nissan several different manufacturers. It's a very simple operation, here on the bottom you're going to have a small cover that needs to be removed. You can do it by hand, it's a pretty simple process, just pull that off. That exposes our lock core, We'll then take our vehicles ignition key, place it in, we want to turn it all the way over until we feel it stop. As you can see that's unlocked our lock for us, now any time we go to us it, ignition key goes in, you're able to unlock it.
This is going to be great for securing trailer couplers, securing items to your trailer or even like farm gates or something. You're always going to have your truck when you go to your farm so it's nice that you won't forget the key, you're always going to have it there with you. They use a hardened chrome plated shackle here, it measure 2 inches tall in usable space. It's going to have a 5/16 inch diameter on it. As you can see we've got a hardened rubber coating, all the way around the lock, that's going to protect it for us. They use an automotive grade tumbler, it's got a 6 plate design, so it's going to resist any kind of tampering we might encounter.
It's kind of hard to see but inside we do have a stainless steel shutter. That protects the dirt, debris and moisture from getting into our cast zinc cylinder. We're going to have superior corrosion resistance. They have made these in the United States and they offer a limited lifetime warranty. Now that we've gone over all the features of our lock let's show you how it looks in action.
Here on our generator we're going to secure it, just with a length of chain. Run that right around where we need that to be used. It's a simple process of coarse we'll unlock our lock, go through our chain, really with that extended we could bring our excess up and secure that off as well. There's a lot of good working room on there so you won't have to worry about securing that chain. You see nice and secure, ready to head down the road, park our trailer and we're not going to have to worry about somebody getting our generator. Now that we've had a good look at it and seen how it works that will complete today's look at the Bolt Line of Padlocks.

Thank you for your feedback. If the key isnt turning in the lock try applying a spray lubricant inside the lock mechanism and letting it sit for a bit. Then use the key to see if you can loosen up any rust or debris that might have built up inside. You may need to repeat this process a few times.
