Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the replacement latch kit for your Stromberg Carlson 100 Series Fifth Wheel Tailgate with the open design. Now, this will let you replace your lost or damaged latches that are on your 100 series fifth wheel tailgate from Stromberg Carlson. This kit here is designed to fit the fifth wheel tailgate, part number VGD-02-100 and we do sell that tailgate separately on our website. Basically, these latches are installed on each side of the tailgate and it keeps the tailgate closed to the truck bed. The kit will include everything shown here on the table, these two latch assemblies with the split rings, the two C-channel rubber bumpers, the 14 rubber disks and the mounting hardware to install the latches to the tailgate.
Comes with a nice set of instructions that'll show and describe how these all installed. As you notice, the split rings here that are included. They are pulled to open the latch and you can see it releases the tailgate from the truck bed. The C-channel bumpers right here, these rubber bumpers, they're for installation of the latch assemblies to the tailgate and then these rubber disks right here. These are used to keep the tailgate centered and properly aligned for opening and closing.
But as you can see when these are installed, just pull it like that on each side to release the tailgate. But that should do it for the review on the replacement latch kit for the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series Fifth Wheel Tailgate with the open design.

Kit includes everything you need: 2 latches, hardware, rubber bumpers and discs.I am replacing a broken latch. The original latch broke from the latch guide around to the top mount slot. This may have been caused by the missing rubber bumper (not included with original tailgate purchase). The latch is easy to install and adjust. Took about 5 minutes and the price was right.

my tailgate is still working out great!
We were careless and broke a latch on the tailgate we bought from etrailer last year. Went to the web site, quickly found the latch we needed, received the latch in 3 days, put it on in 15 minutes, all is good!! Wish all online companies were as easy to work with. Thank you.
Works great. I have on 03 Dodge 2500 and in a few minutes I repaired a tailgate I bought off Craigslist and it is good as new.
