Hi everyone. It's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today, we are looking at the Lockstraps combination lock carabiner here at etrailer. This carabiner can be used in combination with your current Lockstrap straps. Or if you have your own strap and you want to create a security feature to it, let's say, you have a ratchet strap and you want to lock it down, or if you wanna replace the anchor point or the tie-down anchor with its own locking carabiner, that's an option too. So, this is a hefty, heavy-duty carabiner with that combination lock.
So, it's made of heat-treated steel, which means that this is gonna be strong and durable, which is very important when it's a lock. But also, let's take a look at how it's made with dimensions, just to make sure it fits your applications. So, for measurements, this is a 6 1/2 inch long lock. Now, for the dimensions for if this can fit your anchor points, if you open the lock all the way to the side, we have a gap of 2 1/2 inches. So, that's gonna be the opening to go around your anchor points.
So, you can set your own combination. So, to do so, when you get it, just open up that lock, and you can see on the inside, there's a little hole with an indention. So, first, you're gonna get a pen and you're gonna line that up with that hole and then press down. So, with that pressed down, you can then change each combination. I do recommend doing one at a time.
So, change one, take this out, put it back and do the second one. And once you do have all the numbers lined up, you can then pull on the lock itself, and that brings it down enough to clear your carabiner, and that's how you use this. And to protect your combination lock, you have options. If you don't want it sitting out in the sun and in the dirt, you can get this a lock pad. So, this goes around your combination lock and just helps protect it.
Gives it a layer of protection. That way, dirt and grime don't go in and they don't lock up your lock. So, my final thoughts about this locking carabiner is I really do like how hefty it is, as well as how heavy-duty it is. Now, the main purpose of a lock is to deter a theft. You wanna make it difficult for anyone trying to grab your stuff. So, with this, you can see with that combination, it's not like a key which you can just drill into. They may have to figure out that combination. Now, if you are using it with your own straps, please be mindful of your straps because they may be the weakest point compared to the lock. Like with the Lockstrap straps, they have these heavy-duty steel rivets that keep it secure. So, just keep that in mind, as you lock things up to make sure everything is secured. And that was a look here at our Lockstraps combination lock carabiner here at etrailer. My name is Evangeline and I hope you enjoy the journey..
