Today we're gonna take a quick look at the Lippert replacement round magnetic door switch. And this is going to allow your quickie steps to properly deploy and retract. Whenever these are connected the system will know that the steps don't need to go anywhere, they'll stay in place. Whenever we open our door, that's going to disconnect those magnets and our system will know to deploy our steps. So we close the door, the magnets come back into contact and our steps will come back in.So we'll get our door mount and our wall mount with the two wires attached. These will be connected to power and ground and then we'll also have a little bracket to kind of clean up the look of our mounting plate.
We feed our wires through and get that attached. It's gonna fit pretty snugly on the inside there. There's some little fins coming off of our magnetic mount that will keep it snugly in place.These are gonna come in white, they have a three eighths inch core diameter. And as far as our overall measurements for each one of these, the switch itself is about one and three eighths of an inch long. The outer part or the top part of that magnet is about one and a half or, excuse me, three quarters of an inch wide.
The mounting holes in between there are about nine sixteenths of an inch apart going center to center. That'll be the same for both.Our wire coming off the back is going to be 17 inches for that wall mount. Our bracket is just about one and three quarter inches wide, it's actually closer to one and seven eighths of an inch wide or long. And then going the other direction, the width is about one and an eighth. The distance between our mounting holes there is about one and three eighths going center to center.Again, this is going to be for your quickie RV steps.

Part works great and was the correct one etrailer had recommended as the replacement needed.
The magnetic door sensor was exactly the replacement part I needed. There have been no technical issues experienced since its installation.
