Derale Low-Profile Sandwich Adapter - Multiple Engine Filter Threads

Hello neighbors, I'm Steve with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at this Derale low profile sandwich adapter. It's gonna be for your engine oil filter. Now what this does, if you're not familiar, it's gonna provide an opportunity for external lines to then install your oil cooler without having to reposition the oil filter on the vehicle. And it's gonna allow oil to bypass the filter via this built-in relief valve. There's the back, got the little ball in there, and again, the fluid's gonna go through that chamber and that will do it.

The built-in relief valve will go off or open rather when the pressure gets too high. So that's what it's there for. You've got these two threaded holes there on the bottom. That's for installing. So what you'll do is you'll take the sandwich adapter, this guy here, you'll have to purchase two three eighth inch NPT by half inch hose barbs.

Those are sold separately. And then use a thread sealant tape or a suitable sealant, and then install your hose onto those two barb fittings. That also comes with five different adapters depending on what you need for your specific oil filter on your vehicle. So again, pretty simple design, not much to it. Again, it does come with instructions.
