Install your Curt electric trailer brake controller quickly and easily with this custom wiring adapter. Simply plug one end of the adapter into your brake controller and then plug the other end into the built-in port behind your vehicle's dash.
Features:
To install your Curt electric brake controller, you need to connect the wiring of the controller to your vehicle. Certain auto manufacturers offer pre-wired options, typically known as tow packages, wherein wiring is run for you from the dash to the trailer connector on the back of your vehicle. When this is done, a port is installed at your dash so that you can easily plug in a brake controller.
This adapter plugs into the connector underneath your vehicle's dashboard, located to the right of your steering wheel.
No hardwiring is required to install this adapter. After you plug it into your vehicle's connector, you simply plug the other end of the adapter directly into your electric trailer brake controller. Because there are no wires to connect, installation is not permanent. You can unplug and remove your brake controller at any time to transfer it to another vehicle or securely stow it away.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a quick look at this Curt Custom Dual Plug-in Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers. Now as I mentioned, this is a custom fit wiring harness that is designed to fit your 2023 and newer Mazda CX-50 with factory tow package and then your 2024 and newer Mazda CX-90 with factory tow package. So with this custom wiring adapter, you're going to be able to install your electric trailer brake controller quickly and easily. To install your electric brake controller, you need to connect the wiring of the controller to your vehicle. Now, certain auto manufacturers offer pre-wired options, typically known as tow packages, where the wiring is run for you from the dash to the trailer connector on the back of your vehicle. So when this is done, a port is installed at your dash so you can easily plug in a brake controller.
This adapter plugs into that port on your vehicle's built-in brake control wiring harness, underneath the dash to the right of your steering wheel. So what's nice about this adapter is there's no hard wiring required to install. After you plug it into the factory port, you're simply gonna plug this other end of the adapter directly into your electric brake controller. So because there are no wires to connect, installation is not permanent. You can unplug and remove your brake controller at any time to transfer it to another vehicle or securely stow it away.
So this adapter is compatible with time delayed and proportional brake controllers from Curt and your brake controller must have a built-in plug for this adapter to connect. It will not work on controllers with pigtail wiring harnesses. So the overall length of this harness, and as you can see, I do kind of have it compressed here a little bit. This is two feet long and the 12-gauge wires have a protective covering to deter any possible damage. This also includes cable ties, as you can see right here, to secure any slack that you might have and an instruction sheet to walk you through the installation process, which will be really easy.
Well, that's gonna conclude our brief look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
