Randy: Hey guys, Randy here at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at some emergency light mounting brackets. Now these are designed to work with the Kabgard from Buyers, which is essentially going to be a headache rack, it protects your rear window here. No drill application, which I really think is important. That way we don't have to modify the vehicle and it can be easily switched from one make right over to the other make. The bracket portion is a direct bolt-on application here.

Now here, we're looking at the passenger side mount, but we also have the driver's side mounts available as well. It mounts in the exact same location on the driver's side, so whether you need a single light on the passenger side, a single light on the driver's side, or if you we're required to run dual lights, you won't have any issues at all.Now the thing I like about it, it provides this good attachment point here. I mean, this is nice and sturdy, holds up really well, all steel black powder coat finish on it to help it resist corrosion as much as possible. And we have nice mounting attachment points. We have several options available, whether you need the big center post, maybe you've got a two-bolt design or a triangular bolt design, like what we've got here, I think it works out really well.

This light itself is about six and a half inches in diameter at its base. You can see that's just about a perfect fit on top of there. But of course, if you want something that's a little bit more compact, you can always go that route too. The way these elongated holes are here, which we'll take a look at once we have this off, they make it great, they make it really easy even for some of the smaller lights to bolt right on there without any issue.The thing I like most about this setup is that we're not modifying our vehicle at all. We're not going to have to pull down the headliner in there and drill any holes in the top so we can get permanent mounted lights attached.

We're not going to have to worry about magnetic mounted lights that cruising around the parking lot, they're probably in good shape, but once you get out on the highway, you get up to speed, I've seen magnet lights fail in the past. This is going to be a great way, again, no modifications to the vehicle, especially with the Kabgard here, it gives you some additional protection. Generally, vehicles with this, you're going to have stuff in the back. You don't want that stuff coming up, causing any damage to the actual bed here, denting that up or anything getting to the back glass. So it gives you a double protection.Now, something else I really like about this is that the installation process is very quick.

There's already a hole in the Kabgard to allow the bolt to pass through. It's just a matter of tightening up that one bolt it's on. It's nice and solid. So let's take a look at that process now. We have these little plugs on each side here, I'm just going to get in behind them, pop those out and do that on both sides. Then we'll take our bracket, we're going to bring it down and over. Once we've got those out, we're just going to pass our bolt through. We've got two holes here to pick from. This one brings it down a little lower. That will raise it up a little higher. You want your bolt, and you can see here, to have a flat washer on it. The other side, we're going to place a flat washer, place our lock washer and our nut, and then I just used a 14 millimeter there on the other side. Wrench and socket and we'll get it secured.Now, depending on your situation and your application, you may want to mount your light over here on the driver's side. You can see we've got a bracket designed for that as well. Or maybe you require two of them. Maybe you need to have one on each side. So you'd pick up one of each and get your lights mounted in that fashion. But overall, I think it's a really nice way to get your lights mounted without having to mount it up here, do any modifications to the vehicle at all. The Kabgard is a drill free installation. These are, of course you're not modifying the Kabgard at all, they've already got the holes there. So think it can be a really nice solution for getting those lights up on top of your vehicles so they can be seen.
