Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the BMW custom mounting brackets. These are going to be for your fifth wheel above bed base rails from BMW. Now those rails are sold separately for this particular kit. You'll need part number BWRVR3210.
Again, sold separately right here at etrailer.com. If you want to get those with your kit, that would be the part you need.But this is going to be a custom fit for the 2020 and newer GMC and Chevrolet trucks. It's going to be for the 2500 and the 3500 short and long bed. The only exception to that it's not designed to work with the carbon pro beds. Just not ready for that at the moment.
Basically what you're going to get is everything you see laid out here on the table. We'll get our custom brackets for the front and rear on either side, and then all the hardware to get everything installed. Also comes with some fish wires, so you can get your hardware going through the frame and everything lined up. The nice thing about this custom kit is that we don't have to worry about any frame drilling. You're not going to have to make any modifications to the truck frame.
Of course, you do need to drill some holes to get the rails installed so the hardware can go through, but that's the only modification we're making to our vehicle.Everything else is going to be designed to accommodate for the curves and custom fits the parameters for your frame. It should be a pretty easy, pretty straightforward install as far as a fifth wheel install kit goes. The nice thing that I like about BMW is it just seems like they take their time with making sure that everything is machined properly, everything fits well, and that it's a really nicely made system. Their powder coat is also going to cover all the surfaces really well. As you can see, everything is coated with that gray powder coat, which is BMW's signature.
That's going to help it to resist any kind of corrosion. The brackets are also made out of a sturdy steel.Everything is made in the USA. That's always a great addition to our kit that we know that it's American made. It is covered by a lifetime limited warranty from BMW. That's pretty much it as far as our look at the BMW custom mounting brackets. Again, the part number for the rails is going to be BWRVR3210, and that'll get you rolling with everything you need. From the start,the folks at etrailer were very courteous and helpful. I called many times during the decision making process and everyone was always right there to help. When I finally decided to purchase the B&W 18K Patriot w/slider Bailey was there to help with the order. She explained the free freight shipping and it was a done deal. It arrived 1 day earlier than stated, as soon as I opened the cartons it was in fact the good ol' American made quality I was accustomed to growing up. I proceeded to install on the B&W rails I purchased and installed locally on my 2022 F250 Lariat/ Tremor.I had a small hick- up with the install and etrailer gave me B&W's # as they like to handle issues themselves. Stephanie at B&W was just as courteous. Overall a very pleasant experience. The Patriot was basically plug and play. I then connected my 2021 Grand Design 303RLS Reflection and rolled down yhe road. What a smooth and quiet ride, loved it! I would definitely recommend etrailer and their products. Thank you all that helped.

So far this has been a great hitch. Takes up a lot less space than the massive auto slider hitch that I had previously, and have had no problem with any sharp turns so far. It is also much easier to handle by myself taking it out of the truck. The only thing I’ve had some problems with is getting the handle lock pin out once I’m ready to disconnect. To solve, I’ve started wedging the flat part of my crowbar under the head of the pin and tapping it with a rubber mallet from underneath.

So far so good. Hitch appears to be good quality. It was easy to install after installing the mounting kit. I haven't used it yet so I can't comment on how it handles when pulling a camper.

Love this hitch, very solid! Pretty light weight, easy to get in and out when I need to use the full truck bed. Easy height adjustment to get my 5th wheel riding level when towing.

This hitch is great! Works flawlessly and is easy to install. Directions for mounting hardware sucks . I I’m on of those who like to just hold it up and see how it works. I recommend reading the crappy instructions and then hold the brackets up. Front bar directions good rear bar is bad .

This hitch is amazing. I replaced an older Reese hitch. With my old hitch there was constant shucking and could feel the trailer pushing the truck while stopping. There is no more shucking and you can “barely tell” there’s a trailer behind me anymore. The coupling and uncoupling with the cam action lever is extremely simple!

I just got it installed looking forward to connecting the trailer. But, the trailer is in the shop! I spent a lot time evaluating hitches and decided on the B&W Patriot 18K. I would like to better packing for shipping, the finish on the hitch got damaged.

Great hitch in my 2015 Ram 2500 Short Bed. I had to contact B&W due to a concern with tightening the mounting bolts. The threads in the holes are painted, B&W said to run a tap through the threads. Also I was missing a few bolts on previously installed mounting kit. B&W sent me the whole bolt kit overnight for free. Awesome American company proudly supporting their products. I highly recommend their products. Also etrailer sent this hitch to me in a timely manner at a great price. I would use etrailer again. Thank you!

This is an excellent hitch, easy install on existing mounting rails! Etrailer had the best price by far and provided free shipping! I would highly recommend this company, the only issue I had was with UPS freight, who sat on my shipment for two full weeks before delivering it.

Unit is solid and well built, just as advertised. Assembly and installation was straightforward but prepare for lifting help as the base unit is quite heavy.
This is a replacement upgrade and I can't wait for weather to get better and go camping.

This is my first time using a fifth wheel hitch so I don’t have anything to compare it to but other people recommend it to me I haven’t had any issues with this well built hitch and I would not hesitate to recommend it to others.

I did my research on this hitch and was convinced it was the one I wanted yet I still felt the need to get some input from the pros, 2 phone calls (one to E-trailer and one to B&W) and I came away with peace of mind that the B&W was the right one for me. Best of all they did not try to up sell me to the 22k hitch two rv dealers tried to tell me I would need to safely pull the 16,500 gvwr 5th wheel I was in the process of buying. The hitch was reasonably priced, arrived in a timely manner in good condition and installation was straight forward. Bottom line I couldn’t be happier with my B&W hitch but most of all my decision to buy it from etrailer

The hitch performed as advertised. It was easy to install, fitting my current rails perfectly. It is heavy and requires a minimum of two young strong people to install it. I was very pleased with eTrailer.

We received the hitch and brackets packaged very well. The installation went well and pretty straight forward.
We did not have our 5th wheel to set the height but took a lucky guess at 18". We picked the RV up and couldn't be happier with this hitch. Absolutely no chucking, very smooth ride. We have an uneven slope to back down to get to our RV pad and were concerned about that. With the swivel on this hitch, backed with no problem. We wouldn't settle for any other hitch if we have to ever buy another one.
The RV sales and service people were very impressed with this hitch and the way it is set up with the frame brackets.

I’ve had 2 Reese hitches before this b&w and this puts them to shame I absolutely love the ease of hooking and unhooking and it is totally quiet it fit my rail system perfectly

I have always had bumper pull RVs. This is my first 5th wheel and 5th wheel hitch. It took approx 5-1/2 hrs to install the rails, hitch, and 7-way extension on a '17 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel with Ramboxs. I love the construction and the "feel" of the hitch. Directions were easy to follow. I get the trailer in a couple days, so no comment on towing, but I am not anticipating any complications. Looking forward to using this hitch for years to come.

There was a snafu on the delivery of this, like it ending up 1000 miles from my house on the first try, and then the delivery company getting mad at me for not having a forklift at my house. Since I just got this yesterday I can't say much ab out it yet, I am still trying to install it. I do suggest a hoist in your garage if you plan on removing this hitch at all, it is heavy. It looks to be in great condition though! I can't wait to get it attached so I can give it a test drive on a 2 hour trip. I can tell you that two RV retailers suggested this B&W hitches, so I have high hopes. With all the products on the market today, to get recommendations from two different companies that installs them, is impressive.

I really like the B&W kits because they are a no-drill install, they are made in the USA, and the price is typically pretty competitive compared to other brands. This will work with any fifth wheel hitch made for the industry standard rails, including your Patriot hitch. It is possible to get the hardware kit by itself with part # BWRVR2505....

- Can I Purchase the Mounting Brackets Separately from the Base RailsWe do sell the mounting brackets like # BWRVR2505 separate from the base rails. Please note that this is a custom-fit part so it is make/model/year specific. It is designed to fit the 2020 Chevrolet and GMC 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty long and short bed trucks without the OEM prep package. Also be aware that these brackets are designed to work with base rails # BWRVR3210. We do not recommend mixing bracket and rail manufacturers--both elements should always come from the same manufacturer.
